[00:00:06] Hello everyone and welcome to the rc plane lab podcast i'm ron i'm tom and i'm dave tom's got me going here well ron's got me going well i don't have anybody going almost like you had forgotten how to do it i did actually my mind was thinking of something else as i was starting i hope it was airplanes it was actually clearing my throat but that's okay oh yeah we

[00:00:35] Missed that didn't we we did nobody did it missed our opportunity dang it next time hello gentlemen

[00:00:41] Hey hey so once again it's been a month since we recorded so i've forgotten how to do half the

[00:00:46] Stuff we do it's it's okay i'll come back what's going on yeah that sucks by the way wanting to fly and not being able to yeah and having the temperature being conducive to flying but you

[00:01:02] Can't fly because it's so dang windy we had i think 50 mile an hour wind gusts a couple days ago also a couple days ago it was 70 yeah and then that night it snowed yes right yeah it was 76 yesterday and then snowed that night whatever yeah and then when i went to work it was in snow

[00:01:20] Yep yep illinois weather we complain about it every year the wind is specifically i'm talking about and it feels even worse now but it does it feels terrible every year no like this feels worse

[00:01:31] Than normal oh i don't remember this high of wind gusts yeah it's sustained 30 gusting 50 plus for a couple days at a time it's getting a little old yeah and it's first day of spring so maybe it'll get

[00:01:46] Better happy spring maybe i don't know happy first day of spring i mean i mean i feel as though it is

[00:01:54] Usually not this bad but you're right it is windy early in the year and it calms down it does

[00:02:00] Eventually we'll have a good summer i hope so i hope it's just awful though looking at the monitor

[00:02:05] And it says 65 degrees i was thinking maybe this weekend we'll see how the weather is i don't know if you've seen saturday i did see saturday but you're about to say you're busy no oh i was expecting

[00:02:16] No nice sorry i pushed the button on the no i yes i did check the weather actually you're not going to believe well you might believe this lori actually told me via text so it's in writing today she said you should probably think about flying saturday because it looks like it might it

[00:02:36] Might be good to go fly saturday so yes well i hope to do more than think about it well we'll see right hopefully the wind holds off it's because the tips are going to be decent it's supposed to be five to ten yeah i can handle that but when it was supposed to be five to ten last time when we went out to the field it was 15 to 20. oh well here's hoping that's all we can do yeah so you guys went flying yeah we want to start with that sure we want to do yeah we went flying go on dave because it was you guys yes because what was it you were i was at work you were i've said it before

[00:03:11] I'll say it again your job sucks very unconducive to fun things i know so yeah go on what as of

[00:03:20] This i know oh yeah that's two yeah so anyway dave so yeah we got a break in the weather was it wasn't too awful cold it was bearable yeah i don't remember what the temperature i think it was two weeks ago low to mid 50s yeah supposed to have been five to ten but it was more like 15 to 20. but closest we've had for a while so grabbed some brand new planes and headed out

[00:03:47] Yeah ron you said you wanted to like call this episode three maidens in a funeral or something like

[00:03:53] That well when we were at the field and i don't i don't even remember what i think dave made in three airplanes yes i got three in i think that's where the the thought first came but i don't remember where the funeral came from i don't remember killing somebody somebody crashed something or was reggie

[00:04:09] There no no no i mean genuinely i was i was genuinely asking was reggie there because he usually was the one oh not because he crashes i was just trying to figure out who all was there daniel was there

[00:04:22] Everybody but bill came by for a while yeah nice so but so yeah i guess that made no sense because

[00:04:28] Dave made in three i made in two and no i guess not crashes but well i had a lot of crashes but it

[00:04:36] Was an extremely durable airplane and maybe that's what got my mind thinking about that see but and then

[00:04:41] We go back and forth like it were those actually crashes not really they were bad takeoffs they were mishaps it hits the ground bounces four foot back into the air yeah but it's still flyable after that yeah

[00:04:53] It's not i don't i don't know i didn't count them as on my crash sheet so i wouldn't have either

[00:05:01] Especially with that airplane well you didn't we'll talk about what you're yeah okay so i inherited

[00:05:07] Tommy's flying wing that he got in jonal jonal two years ago yeah and apparently was not able to make it fly the entire week he was there nobody really could yeah i guess i wasn't there but i i guess multiple attempts were made by multiple people yes including the people who sold it to you is that

[00:05:27] Correct no the guy that sold it to me did not try to fly it okay so yeah he gave me plenty of

[00:05:33] Advice did oh god don't look at me like that and ron's phone every time yeah anyway so you tried to fly it multiple times and you took it last year to joe knoll and tried to fly it at night i did bucking bronco all kinds of issues oh man yes it's and it's not a large wing by any

[00:05:55] Means it's fairly small i don't know how big it is 30 maybe yeah yeah 30 inches it's yeah it's small and

[00:06:02] Very well under my ownership it was very highly wing loaded well it's it's i mean it's airfoiled

[00:06:09] It's actually it's molded right yeah so we don't know who we don't know what it is i i've spent

[00:06:15] Some time on the internet searching wings and that wingspan and i can't come up with anything i i don't know what it is so it's now the sharkinator looks cool yeah it so i stripped it you had a it had a lot of packing tape on it and those usually do shelf liner and yeah yeah and lights and like

[00:06:34] That is exactly how i received it yeah i don't want people out there to think that planes together

[00:06:40] That way because some of them actually it's you you're supposed to put you're supposed to wrap them

[00:06:45] In packing tape just had a lot of packing tape when i i decided to undo it because it was well it was unsightly so i went and pulled everything off of it i found a chunk of one ounce of lead just duct taped to the nose underneath went there and rebuilt the whole thing we've talked about this in past episodes i did the math on it and came up with what i thought the center of gravity should be which at that point required two additional ounces of lead so a total of three

[00:07:15] Ounces of lead took it out and daniel went to throw it for me and he kind of tossed it like the shadow the shadow seekers which is just a gentle light toss not so much with this airplane and they just dove straight into the ground like four foot in front of them i'm familiar with that we've seen that before that many times with that airplane so we talked about it and it was like you gotta chuck this thing a little harder so he did chuck it and i pulled back on the elevator

[00:07:46] With it and it went straight up and we were airborne flying and it was a handful a huge handful i got it slowed down and started getting some trim in it about 50 throttle it was reasonable but it was still just super touchy flip some rates to a much lower rate that i had to 40 expo in and it felt like i was driving a rubber band so that didn't work so i had to flip back up to the higher rates

[00:08:15] Was able to fly it get it halfway trimmed and somewhat landed it just kind of plopped onto the ground and i'm going wow okay that thing kind of sucks maybe maybe tom's on to something here

[00:08:32] So we went and flew it again i i adjusted the expos so i could use the lower rates and not have the the spongy elevator under half throttle it was touchy but it was flyable it was not an enjoyable aircraft to fly at all and i gotta say man this thing is it's getting better but it's i think it's still tail heavy so went ahead and landed it again if you can call it landing once again it was just a plop bounced it we went and flew some other stuff and while we were doing that i added an

[00:09:06] Additional ounce of lead to the nose since we were up to four we're up to a total of four ounces okay in a small airplane yeah it's not a big airplane and i thought okay let's see if we're on the right track see if this makes it any better and by the way the launches on the first two flights it had multiple launches that bounced and it wing over it and yep any normal airplane would have just shattered into a gazillion little pieces i will give that airplane that it's tough as nails yeah it is a very tough airplane the additional half out or additional ounce of lead in the nose

[00:09:41] Daniel tossed it and a couple clicks of trim later it's tamed completely different animal one ounce that extra one ounce yeah made a huge difference more it would make it better or do you think it's like right i think it's right where it needs to be right now i've got it set up you can just be calling across the sky haul back on the stick no high speed accelerated stalls it will drop a wing if you have it crooked and slow and haul back on the stick but what airplane really won't that's high performance

[00:10:14] Anyway yep true beautiful flying and landing you come skipping in i mean i might throw another half ounce in the nose just to see what happens but i think it's dead on the money right now third flight with it balanced i did notice at that point then i did have a throttle elevator issue you throttle up fast and they would push the nose down so it's a thrust line so since then i've shimmed the motor a little bit and hopefully that's gone away and it's it's dialed nice he said it flies beautifully that

[00:10:45] That is not a term that i would have ever used to to describe how that airplane flies this aircraft was headed to the bottom of your tires if i remember correct i wanted to run over it with the rv had it been our rv we probably would have yeah if i had owned the rv and they were my tires yeah i absolutely would have ran over it that's how how much i enjoyed that i'm kind of glad you didn't though because

[00:11:07] That it actually goes to show that if you take the time to study what's wrong to figure out what's going on with something and and work through the problems you can have a decent flying airplane as opposed to what i would do which is what you would have done so what i'm hearing

[00:11:30] You say is that i am not patient enough to work with an airplane that doesn't fly well what's funny

[00:11:37] Though is you're a heck of a lot more patient than i am and one heck of a pilot because you were able

[00:11:42] To fly this a little bit three ounces of lead short well and then the sticking easy connector too and

[00:11:48] The sticking easy connector so thinking back on it now that makes sense because not only was it extremely pitch sensitive when i was trying to fly it but it would also never hold it would roll back and forth yeah it would just be all over the place like literally all over the place but yeah congratulations i'm glad you persevered yeah i'm glad i wanted to make like a yes oh thank you yeah it is tough and if anybody out there remembers the old duraplanes they were tough too but they flew like crap so yeah no matter what you did no matter what you did so i'm glad it didn't

[00:12:21] Turn out like the old duraplanes the dura crash yeah dirt exactly yeah tough as nails but they really made out of the fluted material gutter yeah vital gutter downspout yeah i've seen those that's what men just an ugly foam wing that you basically wrapped either in shelf paper or if you took the time to paint them or whatever but yeah they were terrible that's funny they were terrible yeah the three channel ones are even worse oh my gosh yeah the ones without ailerons i think i actually

[00:12:52] I think i sold one of those way back in i own two of those stupid things and i'm pretty sure the person i sold it to that was like what prompted them to get out of the hobby was that well that's terrible yes exactly that's why we didn't sell very many more after that yeah i can understand if any that may have been the only one actually but anyway congratulations what else did you make

[00:13:15] So terry dunn donated to me the xb70 which i went through and redid gave you yes i said gave

[00:13:21] You i mean i have no money involved in it it makes it sounds like you're a charity case it's not far

[00:13:28] From it it turned out very nice after a repaint and new decals it was awfully windy that day i was a little leery of it and it stayed in the truck the whole time i was afraid of it get blown away yeah blow it off the table but we did get a small break in the wind and daniel threw it for me he said he couldn't believe how easily it launched i don't think he really threw it as much just let go of it let go of it yeah that flies right out of his hand right probably beautiful flight i don't even remember putting any trim into it i think it just went that's a good feeling

[00:14:00] Full throttle in a 15 mile an hour headwind it had about a five mile an hour ground speed so going downwind i had to be careful not to get too far down the range yeah because it took a while to come back right a beautiful flying airplane thank you terry cool

[00:14:14] Yeah for just honestly it's flat piece of foam that looks like an xb-70 yeah and in flight it really pulls it off it looks great in flight yeah on the decals you did for look a lot it's surprising

[00:14:26] How those airplanes if they're if they're decaled properly and painted properly how they present in

[00:14:31] The air yeah even though the fuselage is three layers of foam it was just three flat layers cut yeah mm-hmm yeah what are you guys getting into foamies like flat foamy stuff

[00:14:44] Anyway and then i bought i had a weak moment and bought one of the waco umx planes and yeah but they were on sale they were on sale i was 30 bucks off i mean like i can't pass it up i've beautiful airplane to start with i'm still torn whether i wanted the yellow one or the white one i own the yellow one now and i still was like man i kind of like the white one bottom both painted half and half one side anyway and as to be expected it flew beautifully even in the wind

[00:15:15] So yeah no problems there i didn't try it on three cell i only tried the four cell i own more two cells i'm sorry two cells versus three cells i only have the one three cell but being the extra windy i did

[00:15:27] Fly it on the three cell yeah i would never do it on two cell why yeah why i mean it's more more

[00:15:32] Scale we get a nice calm evening yeah hover it yeah that'll work to be expected it flew really

[00:15:41] Nice and i love it nice yep why'd you fly so i finally got to fly the electro streak yay that is so

[00:15:53] Fun is it it's it's sorry video did you take any video no i didn't because i was flying there were other people there could have held your phone for you could have i really didn't even think about

[00:16:05] It bolted to your hat no so i'm gonna be honest i was a little nervous on the launch having never launched it before just being the first time it's got plenty of power and i mean it's they've got it dialed in to where it's a non-event really even without launch assist or with that on i'm guessing it's probably turned on automatically okay i don't know yeah but you just obviously full throttle

[00:16:31] Throw it in the air and it's speaking of launches he launched my airplane for me you launched someone else's airplane it was under protest yeah but you still did it i did it was the waco umx okay it was

[00:16:42] Still under protest okay i appreciate it thank you no problem but anyway so after a mental note back at the nugget now oh i'll do it i just can't i can't guarantee it will be successful so to each their own risk but anyway so no after a couple flights i kind of got it dialed in to where they needed quite a bit of down rubber down sorry when you say electro streak you mean the

[00:17:12] The new e flight electric streak that you may have finished oh that's right you haven't finished

[00:17:17] Yours yet sorry i just had to throw that in there i haven't even seen the parts now for months i don't

[00:17:22] Know he probably doesn't know where they are either i know exactly where they are they're

[00:17:25] Stored with the other unfinished airplanes in the graveyard i shouldn't say graveyard because they'll eventually get worked on by whatever he sells them too when i'm retired and have plenty of time anyway thanks for taking me off so got it maiden this is actually the first airplane e-flight airplane i've ever had that i had to adjust the the length of the push rods because i couldn't get enough down

[00:17:57] Wait down yeah i couldn't get enough down elevator on it ran about ran out of elevator trim yeah oh okay i'm so that's that's significantly out of whack then it was yeah once i got that i mean it still flew obviously but i had to hold up trim with my my thumb once i got that landed got it straightened

[00:18:18] Out and stuff it's on it's like it's on rails so at neutral then is the elevator in line with the stab

[00:18:24] Or is there no it's pretty much straight all right so i'll check it then before well i checked it like when i plugged in i saw that there was it was off a little bit but i figured they're probably pretty close and i would be able to trim it out but there was not that much trim available so and like i said that's the first one i've ever actually had to take apart from the factory and do but no big deal it flew there was nothing i mean there was no negative aspects to it it went through a battery that way like i said after i got it dialed in did some high speed passes it's fast but

[00:18:59] It wasn't faster would be nicer it wasn't blistering it was like that's cool did you get the extra prop no not yet okay they don't have it in yet i probably could have done a different one but you could probably get an apc one that would work just figured i will stick with what it was before i did any changes to it okay it's fast like i said don't get me wrong it's not like stupid stupid fast but it's it's fun it moves slows down pretty good for landing slows down great really like it's it's amazing the envelope that's in that airplane i can't wait someday it was a

[00:19:34] Little concerned because it's not a foldable prop there's no gear all that kind of stuff no issues right i mean it came in slowed down issues with the electro streaks either right so but i mean sometimes it's just you can't be careful for that of course they fold don't they yeah mine's a folder yeah so daniel's is a folder yeah the shiny isn't but the shiny is like it's the front is angled a little bit different and shaped a little bit different toward it's a little higher yeah but anyway like i said landed it a couple times just nicely

[00:20:07] Skidded along the grass and stuff no grass stains nothing like that on the bottom so awesome nice and fast went and flew a second battery through it and getting more comfortable with it and the same thing it's it's just fun did you fly it on for us yeah yeah why would you do anything

[00:20:22] Else oh i don't know did you have that set up with the y horners still or did you set it up for

[00:20:27] Flapperons nope why still on the white harness yeah i don't plan on changing i mean i don't see a reason to yeah mine i don't even think there's an extra channel i'd have to look maybe if you wanted to add

[00:20:38] Flapperon maybe it doesn't need it but it doesn't i mean yeah i mean my scratch built one really likes

[00:20:43] A little bit of flap flapper on yeah with landing to help slow it down it's so sleek it doesn't want

[00:20:48] To slow down i don't know if mine i mean i have mine set up that way but i don't know if i've actually

[00:20:53] Used i use apps online i've used it every landing except for two mine's not as slick as yours either either yeah and the propeller's not as big right yeah mine's like 13 inches right it's crazy good

[00:21:06] For you that's yeah i mean like the ones on ours aren't nearly as big yeah like i said i like that problem is at our field we don't have power so i have no way of charging a battery so i'm stuck with flying only what i brought we need to i have plans don't worry okay all right well no i'm just so off topic but the trailer is in route home well actually not quite yet my brother and sister-in-law

[00:21:37] Have started their vacation they have picked the trailer up and it's gone from georgia to florida it's your sister and brother-in-law right what did i say you said brother and sister-in-law yeah backwards sorry so my sister and brother-in-law they confused me for a second i'm like wait a minute have i been wrong this whole time started their vacation yeah so they they picked the trailer up for me yes yeah yesterday they're in florida now they're coming back this weekend my plan is to put some batteries in there that way i can have an inverter and actually charge and probably put

[00:22:11] Some solar panels and stuff on the top too nice that way we can do whatever we want or you can buy

[00:22:18] A dc charger and just run it off your truck

[00:22:22] Yeah it's not as quick that's the problem i'd like to be able to charge them fast can we power

[00:22:28] Our spectrum chargers dc i didn't think so no you can get a little i mean i've got i've got my high

[00:22:33] Tech one that i can but and i've got the plug in the back of the truck too but it's only 150 watts so it's not as fast but anyway so off topic flew that like i said had fun i also made in the ultra stick that i got at the decatur swap meet remember that one the little e-flight one the small one yep it's small but not slow no slow ultra stick is the yes but anyway flew that on four cell it was fun i was a little disappointed in the the and i knew this i'll say this i knew this before i flew it when i went

[00:23:05] Over and checked everything the the control horns were a little bit loose on the elevator and on the rudder these are i wish i knew what kind they were called but they're not the kind that usually have the three screws that go in these are the ones i've seen more on foamies to wear zip tie style yeah right and whoever goes a long way on those or foam tack well so whoever had it before me pretty much did that same thing put it in didn't quite get it seated all the way and then they

[00:23:36] Glued it on so i couldn't seat it farther but it was only moving i don't know 16th of an inch to an eighth of an inch at the end so there was a little bit of play and i knew it but it was a calculated risk it flew fine just not as good as it should have with the changes in in a trim bounced around a little bit yeah but it's it's a fun airplane i kind of enjoy that got a couple batteries through that and i'm sorry that was on 3s because that's i didn't want to fly the other 4s's in that one

[00:24:10] So i did end up getting replacement control horns and i have changed those out now so next time i go

[00:24:19] It'll be much better yeah so the the one i had i absolutely loved it and i wish i had kept it but you'll want to get as much throw on all the surfaces as you possibly can that will really wake

[00:24:33] That airplane out so they've got it set up with the least amount of throw yeah which that can

[00:24:39] Always be changed later but yeah it's still fun but like when you when you max out the throws on that and start really tossing it at that thing is just it's just so much fun well and i can't imagine

[00:24:47] That on 4s like that's gonna be yeah that's gonna be cool daniel's got bush tires on his so yeah like i think the tires that are on that one i i don't need to go bigger on yeah really mister i like mongo tires i do but those look right for that airplane i need to find another one of those

[00:25:05] Maybe you'll find one at toledo yeah we'll see yeah daniel got his for like 50 bucks or something

[00:25:10] We'll see so what else that was all i had batteries for to fly oh but no edfs that day huh no not even

[00:25:19] The habu the grass is pretty long what battery am i going to use oh yeah that's why i'm limited by what

[00:25:25] I could charge i had the batteries i had were ones i flew already in those other airplanes and so i figured i would take with me what i could fly longer as opposed to a yeah two or three minute flight or four minute on the habu you can get eight ten minutes out of that you need a small-ish gasser to fly locally actually i've got one that i need to finish going through and tuning and stuff that miles sparrowhawk oh yeah with a sato gasser that's right yeah oh the one that had the dog food in the wing

[00:25:59] Yeah the one from reggie yeah that'd be a good one to fly locally and not have to worry about

[00:26:05] Recharging recharging recharging yeah i thought about bringing that in and starting to kind of go through it but i haven't yet because there's other things that are coming up first but yeah well sounds

[00:26:17] Like you guys had fun so what'd you fly oh you're asking me he's making my desk all weekend how about that i was working and you did a fine job of that i'm glad you guys had a good time yeah i was a little jealous i mean a little salty i know yeah i could tell but it's okay i'll get i'll get my chance i

[00:26:35] Forgot you worked and then with the text going out on now you guys want to go out saturday i work that's how i heard it well that's exactly how i talked to see i that's i know you so well a little tear coming down your eye yes yeah no it was a good time and we will do that more often

[00:26:55] Yes but i still got more new stuff to maiden so yeah i do too me too good speaking of new stuff

[00:27:06] Yeah you want to talk about new airplane or airplane releases kind of want to go through

[00:27:11] It fast i don't want to be too okay i'll start new from avios available through hobby king the new twin otter 63 inch flies on a 4s 22 to 3400 comes with floats and a long or short nose like in the box which is interesting two different scale options yeah two different options 379.99 not bad looking airplane but in my opinion it looks something looks weird about it it does i can't put my finger on it but maybe i think they're showing it with the short nose i think

[00:27:42] Maybe the short nose and the big wheels make it look a little cartoonish yeah but on floats it looks

[00:27:46] Fantastic like it doesn't look as scales the old e-flight one no like read that one yeah is like true to shape yep and a little i mean that's bigger than the e-flight one though right yeah 63 inches it's a good size airplane what is that in 1600 i think yeah 1600 because i think the e-flight one is

[00:28:06] 1.3 yeah so this is yeah 1600 63 inches okay so screw together assembly no gluing yeah box flight performance looks great probably in an hour or less i bet so nice anyway put the battery on and build it new available through hobby king dave what do you have excellent this is the freewing

[00:28:27] 64 millimeter f86 saber jet i believe they've had this one out before but this is a rework looks good it's the nice part about this is the price 155 plug and play that's pretty reasonable that's very reasonable i mean for a plug and play yeah it's a 64 millimeter fan 4s 2200 to 2600 although i've seen reviews where they're sticking 3200 packs in it and it seems to be fine 805 millimeter 31.7 inches 12 blade fan so it's going to sound cool yeah

[00:29:03] Place you got to use apply your own receiver yep and instead of that the toy knot or same same deal

[00:29:09] Now it comes if i remember correctly two different ways you can get it with or without the landing gear that's odd they're actually recommending just for the price difference go ahead and buy the one with the landing gear and just leave it off if you're not using it but okay yep very nice it looks good all typically free wing stuff does flies nice that's the drawback is that painted canopy

[00:29:33] So much easier would it have been really though to put a clear canopy even if you're staring at the

[00:29:39] Battery i don't care yeah put it clear because from the side it's just it's just anyway it's a little too dark it needs to be if they're going to paint it needs to be a little bit lighter not gray but not stark black either yeah it looks good it looks good but for 155 bucks yeah pretty pretty rocking deal very appealing price point good size too what do you got okay so

[00:30:02] The first one that i have is the night timber hold on let's get this all right the night timber x evolution 1.2 meter new release from horizon from e-flight this is a re-release of their old night timber x without the evolution name on it we're just throwing more things on the end this is an evolution of the original the next one don't even get me stirred on timber names so biggest difference in this one from the old one that i've seen online that people are happy about

[00:30:33] Is there's a top hatch on it now yes you don't have to flip it over much better right i'd flip it over to load your battery 1.2 meter like we said runs on a 3s or 4s 2200 to 3200 milliamp hour lipo bind and fly and the price ouch 369.99 like i was really interested in this when i saw they came out with it because night planes are fun yeah and then i saw the price and yeah i thought it's like i was even thinking about a

[00:31:01] Timber is like come on dave what's wrong with it yeah another timber right but then i saw the price

[00:31:05] Is like nope i won't be buying one i already have a timber with lights on it i mean granted it's not a night right timber but it's still lit like that's when they have lights and stuff it'd be kind of silly to buy another timber that has lights on it but that's just me but i mean you never know

[00:31:21] I say things now and then in two months i might change my mind you may see one in person and be like

[00:31:25] That's kind of nature or whatever i i'm there i get it never know what joan all's gonna bring

[00:31:31] That's true or toledo yeah but joan all you can fly it there that's that's the hard part about it

[00:31:37] That's true all right what else you got i'll go next again old school model works balsa kits so already a fan all made in the usa by the way which i think is amazing he's got a new one out called the barracuda which to me looks like well it's an e2k racer which if you're not familiar with that that's a class of pylon racing eight by eight prop and 4s batteries so it should move along pretty good should move along pretty good but to me it's reminiscent of a of a quickie 500 just a

[00:32:08] Little smaller it's a little box fuselage it'd be super super simple to build in fact dave you mentioned this earlier when we're looking at it i think this would be a good candidate for somebody's first build yeah i think that would be an excellent honestly yeah jig jig assembly everything's all laser cut it's all laser cut it's a 36 inch just under 36 inch wing so it's a good size but it's not intimidating it's not intimidating yeah it'll go slow or fast projected weight one and three quarter to three pounds so there's a nice range there three to four s i mean why would you

[00:32:41] Fly it on three s but you can yeah and like i said cheap well i don't think i said that yet but it's cheap 129.95 which is really inexpensive for a balsa kit these days and a complete balls like a kit like it has the hardware and all the stuff in there so i believe they use

[00:32:58] Pretty quality hardware in their stuff too yeah but no landing gear no wheels no right it's a very simple airplane if you want to put landing gear on it'd be super simple to put a strap type gear on

[00:33:08] Oh absolutely but i'm saying for that price it doesn't come with no any of that so but slick

[00:33:13] Looking yeah slick looking and if you're into club racing e2k might be might be a fun thing to get

[00:33:19] Started yeah and it'll be relatively cheap 129.95 all right well i am up with my second version this is a little bit more on the toy-like side but still it's still an rc airplane well so okay

[00:33:34] First off they're all toys sorry like we have to make sure we remember that hobby grade versus toy grade but that one's more toy grade yes like that's walmart version yeah i mean probably yeah yeah

[00:33:47] Yeah but i seem seem quite a bit on it and a lot of guys really like me i would say it's a step

[00:33:53] Above air it's definitely above air hog oh i i seem to offend the air hog fans in here i'm sorry guys

[00:33:59] I'm not an air hog fan i'm just saying this is probably a step above air hog your face both of you

[00:34:04] Are pretty one of those things yeah have you ever flown an air hog no okay like an old helicopter i

[00:34:11] Think but never an actual airplane yeah you're not missing much you would make the same face had you flown one of those anyway okay okay this is from volantex it looks like it's also available through e-sheen e-machine something like that but basically it's been sold under volantex it is their micro corsair it is a 15.7 inch wingspan flies on a 1s 360 milliamp battery so yeah i mean it's not a huge airplane it's it's umx size that is not 15 inches tommy

[00:34:44] You started off here like 30. well i had to bring it in a lot wow if you got me off track i have no idea where i'm going with this it's umx size so it's a micro from what i see now it out of the box it's kind of shiny and toy like looking but if you sit down and airbrush this thing you can make this look pretty sharp it looks to me it's about 30 second scale

[00:35:14] Just rough guessing dave is all about customizing things and airbrushing and all that yes i don't

[00:35:20] Like to leave anything alone and this is definitely got some decent loans to it that's that's being a modeler for everything i see online with it it looks like it flies fairly decent it does come with a radio so it's one of those cheap toy radios but if you have the right equipment you can

[00:35:39] Substitute i was gonna say can't like whatever i don't remember what radio you're supposed to be replacing with can you fly something like that with that radio with my four-in-one system i can

[00:35:47] Cool yeah that makes a huge difference yes yes anybody with a multi-protocol module on the radio should be able to use a real radio on this thing cool it comes with volantix's version of a gyro the as3x type setup yeah it's not a bad looking it's not grossly out of proportion yeah i mean it looks good the prop looks a little big but just kind of sticking to the prop i do like their if you built in prop saver and it's like a snap it like snaps on it's really kind of cool it's like magnetized i

[00:36:19] Think yeah so clever so i'm seeing and it comes with a spare prop just in case pricing that's a little questionable depends on if you trust your chinese sources or not i've seen it

[00:36:32] Anywhere from fifty dollars to 110 dollars fifty dollars is probably pre-tariff price would be my

[00:36:37] Guess yeah and it's probably i'm assuming shipping on top of that maybe yeah you're gonna have to add

[00:36:42] Shipping and all that to it buddy rc has it for 110 here stateside so there you go very reasonable so if you want a nice little toy consider the corsair there you go so the last one we have

[00:36:58] To talk about i don't understand the name like i'm gonna be honest i understand this was a bring back of a smaller version they used to be out with but e-flight released the foresight 3d flat foamy 800 millimeter bnf basic obviously has the safe and as3x plus built into it it's like a

[00:37:21] It's like an erratics with two wings yeah they've just slapped another wing on an erratics that's pretty much what it is it looks cool it's got a cool shape to it i do like the blue and black it looks pretty sharp it's a biplane biplane yeah that's hence the two wings but you're right biplane i should get that out of the way 259.99 kind of ouch but okay i get it because that does include like everything that's that's the heart you're paying for the technology i we're comparing things

[00:37:52] That are plug and play versus bind and fly so that adds a hundred and some odd dollars just in your receiver and stuff so i get that but it runs off of 850 to a thousand milliamp hour 3s lipos so it's the same same battery that the erratics use also so go check that out if you want a flat foamy so why does the name bother you what makes no foresight what that makes no sense i don't understand i mean i don't know i'm just curious why it doesn't bother me it's just a name but well

[00:38:27] Yeah i just i guess it bugs me because i don't know maybe if i understood behind the like the reason behind it i'd be like okay it makes sense but that just sounds so stupid the the number four yes site dash site s-i-t-e like what what's four i guess it's not the greatest name on the face of the earth for this airplane but four wing halves and that's the only thing i can figure are those called

[00:38:51] Sites like i don't either so i think they did two versions previously i think there was a foresight and i think they did something called a micro foresight maybe i might be wrong i remember the next version but i seem to remember there were there were two versions and they had i don't know if this one has it but like the ones that i remember had like flat plates that were on the trailing the drag brakes drag brakes yeah yeah does this one have that doesn't look like it oh okay i'm not looking

[00:39:16] Through all of the i if stuff i saw on it i did not see anything i wouldn't think so because this is bigger and it's going to fly fast and it's it's going to be heavier based on the type of foam and stuff they use it's right it's not like what's the indoor flying those ultralight indoor there's a thing i told you that breaks on it it's yeah it's not something that if you look at and sneeze it's gonna break into two pieces it's like the erratics it's made to be a little bit stronger whereas like the indoor slow flight stuff isn't no it's not but i i mean i don't get the name

[00:39:47] And it's a biplane and i don't get the two wings but that's okay those biplanes are cool biplanes are cool well i mean it's got a much narrower wingspan and a much longer body gives you a higher roll rate yeah i bet this fly is really good but anyway erratics did i like that one too yeah

[00:40:10] So that's all for new airplanes one other thing i want to say really quick the nx and ix radios have new firmware available came out with a couple days ago thank you nx goes up to 4.01a and then the ix series is version 2.01a.13 there are a few small changes that they made nothing huge nothing earth-shattering if you want to figure it out did they correct the pictures

[00:40:35] Yeah no that's completely on that has nothing to do with it that has to do with the pictures that they have on the actual receiver that's part i we took out so when i did the bind and fly thing with the electro streak they have the new model files that are stored on the receiver that you download to your to your transmitter cool that's fine whatever so i do it and the picture like i wish i hadn't turned that off yet i remind me i got to show you what the picture is it looks like a glider

[00:41:09] Like a motor glider yeah with really weird wings like a huge propeller on it and it's just a line drawing like it's like a vector drawing looks like something honestly that piper just oh an airplane let me just drop an airplane really quick a minute later here you go dad okay so that's all the technology

[00:41:24] And all the programming they put into these things and then that's the vector line drawing it's funny i mean

[00:41:29] Like it's you can take your own picture so that's fine but right i just i i don't understand that it is what it is it's funny though it's cool if that's the worst thing i have to complain about well right we're in good shape yeah i'd say so so what else

[00:41:50] It's spring well it's today's first day of spring what that means

[00:41:54] Cold weather cold cold and windy a little snow windy craft weather never know what that means exactly but now it's time to start thinking about flying if you're here in the midwest and you've been serious flying not a here and there right yeah the season is upon us yeah locked away all winter but it's time to to bring the airplanes out of hibernation wake them up from their slumber long winter's slumber it's time to inspect your airplanes to get them ready for spring okay

[00:42:25] And that's basically in tommy's world that's a lot like putting them away so you go over everything when you put them away yeah hopefully you've repaired anything that needs that needed to be repaired over the winter now it's time to make sure your batteries like if if you use like a nickel metal hydride for example for your radio battery probably ought to think about putting a charge in it or at least cycling it put a cycle on it and check the capacity make sure you've got the required milliamp hours kind of like what i had to do for the senior the trash can telemaster

[00:43:03] Last year remember i had to replace both batteries because that sometimes happens with nickel metal so check the cycle and make sure you got the milliamps in there that you need and they're not very expensive so it's okay i almost always just chuck them every year i mean i know it's a waste but honestly to the point that they're they're like 10 or 15 bucks a piece i think you can get a two pack of like the six bolt ones two thousands off amazon a two pack for like i think it's 12 bucks

[00:43:27] Yeah i've been buying mine for 12 bucks a pop but i need to try to find that two pack yeah

[00:43:33] Tennergy that's the anyway but yeah go over all the the nuts and bolts shrink down that covering that may have loosened up over the over the winter i'm looking at you and b339 it's in

[00:43:44] Here for a reason i can talk about that here in a little bit yeah but yeah my stuff lives

[00:43:49] Outside most of the winter yep so i have to go through and make sure that no little furry critters decide to eat something yeah for some reason or another they like the wheels on the e-flight t28 weird i twice now they've eaten the wheels and i don't have i don't have a problem

[00:44:07] I don't have a mouse problem really i think i've got like one or two mice i mean i don't ever see any trace them except for they eat the tires on the yeah on the trojan yeah that's funny it happens yeah

[00:44:19] So what else yeah just go over airplanes you plan on flying this year make go it's a good time to check over the nuts and bolts and make sure all your set screws are tight and things like that wheel collars are another one that weird they seem to loosen up over the

[00:44:33] Winter time i don't understand why that is but check them motor mounts motor mounts props prop nuts

[00:44:39] Nuts if you're going to do any adjusting on an electric make sure you take that prop off don't have an accident right right if you've acquired new toys or new equipment over the winter that you've been dying to try make sure that it's programmed correctly and don't try to program

[00:44:57] It at the field do it at home the night before yeah or the month before yeah don't turn a day

[00:45:02] At the field that should be relaxing and fun into a stressful to work day yeah yeah so if you need

[00:45:08] To tweak something that's one thing but have it all your rates and everything ready to go yeah

[00:45:12] Throws done rates done everything programmed right yeah and i i mean you can miss something sure and you'll figure that out when you get to the field but you're right it's best to do all your planning

[00:45:22] Beforehand so you're not wasting time and be extra thorough with your pre-flights these first few spring flights because you never know what happened that you missed yeah yeah true if you've got a you

[00:45:34] A gasser that's been sitting all winter sometimes the diaphragms and the carburetors like to dry up check the lines i would check all your fuel lines and maybe i got a lot of fuel lines i need to change this year that would be a bad idea to put some fuel in the airplane get that diaphragm soaking

[00:45:49] Re-witted oil and fuel so that it's not dry on your first start makes life a little bit easier

[00:45:55] Yeah you can do all that but yeah check your lines check your clunk lines especially they tend to harden up especially with the ethanol that's in the fuel these days and if a clunk won't reach the top of the tank when you're inverted that's yeah that's a that's a five second waiting to yep that is a accident waiting or at least a dead stick waiting to happen yeah so just general maintenance get your stuff ready and i i don't know about you guys but like just tinkering with my airplanes really really gets me juiced up to start flying so that's funny

[00:46:29] I'm not that way but no no i'd rather not have to work on any of them i'd rather just build

[00:46:36] Dave likes to build i like to build as well but i also like to tinker yeah just sit down in my shop and tinker whatever i get it but this is a good opportunity to at least play with your

[00:46:49] Airplanes even if you can't fly them yet get them ready right anything else on that that's pretty much all i wanted to say about that so my tinkering and the the reason the mb is downstairs right now i don't know if i've talked about this on here before or not but i have always had an issue with the nose gear retract not coming down all the time like i've never had it to where it didn't come down when i needed it to but there was multiple times that you had to flip the the gear switch a

[00:47:20] Couple times in order to get it to actually come down first i thought it was hanging up on on the the cutout wasn't right or something it was hanging up on that on the airframe then i thought maybe the the base plate and the airplane was caca not perfectly true so yeah so i tried to loosen that up a little bit and kind of see if that made a difference never made a difference and i finally finally got to the point where i didn't want to fly it again until i could trust it every time yep so did some more digging into it and then i noticed i don't even you might have to

[00:47:57] Help me with my terminology on this so on the end of the motor there's a little collet that the the the screw part runs through the warm gear runs through and i noticed that there was a lot of slop and play in whatever that collet part is so you could actually take when i had taken the part and was looking at it you could actually take the the is that is that the actual worm gear the screw part is that what you call it jack screw the you could take that and you could move it in and out a good eighth of an inch oh so it had that much play that's an excessive amount of split right so i noticed when

[00:48:34] I pulled it out that the collet would come out and get stuck in the housing so it wasn't able to spin

[00:48:43] What you could do like before when i still had it in the in the airframe i couldn't see it moving as much as it did when i got the motor actually taken out and off of the off of the retract but i did figure out that if you took a tiny flathead screwdriver and just kind of pried it back in a little bit i never had problems running it up or down like the first time it worked fine didn't have to worry about so that's kind of what made me think there might be something in that once i actually got it taken out and like i said had the motor separate i was surprised how much play there was in

[00:49:17] It so i finally got a new motor got all that put back together and stuff and it is now working every time so i'm happy about that it's going to be exciting to try that to make sure i don't have any issues not having a gear yeah and i'm really excited to try it with the proportional brakes yeah so i can't wait to get out and fly that yep cool but it's ready to go now it's not back in storage yet back out in the garage yet because i do want to run the covering iron over it to shrink

[00:49:44] It down a little bit but she's ready nice and i am too yeah nice very much me too and mine is too yes

[00:49:54] My airplane is ready also can't wait i just need to wait till you're done yeah and also i bought another airplane and speaking of not liking to tinkering and not wanting to go through too much work on them so i ended up buying the 10 cc cub from hanger 9 the plug and play version because so this was a pleasant surprise i'm gonna be honest so i ordered the plug and play version thinking that it was just going to come as an arf and then all the parts separate kind of like i bought the mb339 right you

[00:50:29] Know it was still an arf you had to put together they didn't call it a plug and play which i mean this truly was plug and play so i was expecting to do a little bit more work when i got it i got brought it inside took it out of the box and all that kind of stuff and from the time i started to assemble it to the time it was completely bound and ready to go was about six hours now i say it was about six hours from start to finish of actual starting on it till when i was finished but that included i'm trying to think what all i

[00:51:02] Did i went out to eat i i think i went shopping with piper for or with crystal for a little bit i think we went and got fuel in one of the cars so we were like we were gone for quite a while honestly work on that in that time frame was probably two-ish hours went together without any glue which i like because you can take it apart and store it if you need to not that i want to but if you need to all the servos were installed all the control horns and linkages and all that were

[00:51:37] Done obviously the hinges were done the motor was installed the cowl was on and lined up very nicely i mean like the cowl is on very it's it's stout it was about as simple of a build as i've ever had i don't even want to call it a build of an assembly as i've ever had and this is a balsa airplane this is a balsa airplane it's decent size it's not huge it's 82 and a half inch wingspan so i'm very happy with how it went together and that also included it didn't come with a receiver

[00:52:08] I had one already out of another airplane so that included me going online wiping the receiver completely putting it in this one going through the as3x plus programming from initial from start and all that kind of stuff it was it was very easy to do nice i was very happy with that

[00:52:27] Surprised it's a good looking airplane my only gripe with it are the wheels yeah it's it's those will

[00:52:33] Change yeah yeah but it's just not right yeah they've got everything else pretty good yeah yeah i'm i'm impressed with it like i haven't put any decals on yet i don't know exactly what i want to do with that although really the only decals that go on is the cub on the tail and the end number that's about all that it needs and i appreciate them not putting that end number on there yeah it actually came with all the same it came with two end numbers too oh nice i was surprised that's awesome so not that i know the difference between what they're supposed to be but i haven't

[00:53:03] Looked them up or anything but yeah are the floats available too so yes i bought the floats so the reason for this airplane and what actually got me to do this now as opposed to waiting joan all's coming up yeah and last year i had the the 450 size cub that i picked up at the toledo swap meet and it's it flies great but it's a little underpowered and it needs a little bit of covering work like honestly

[00:53:34] It probably if you wanted to go through and redo everything that plane would be a good candidate for it it'll fly now fly fine but it's to the point where it needs some tlc that i don't want to do yeah you don't like to tinker it for me is underpowered at scale but it's a little underpowered so i would like to get a new motor for it new speed controller servos are slow they're older it works fine but they're a little bit slower than i like so i would have to redo all that and i just

[00:54:07] For that airplane i didn't want to put the time and effort into it so i got this one i bought the floats for it which are foam i don't know why i didn't realize i should have thought about that those would have been built up yeah e-flight foam floats yeah are they yellow no they're gray aluminum so i mean it it will look the part yeah that's one thing that like i said this bigger one has that i'm sorry doesn't have that the little 450 size one did they they actually were built up balsa

[00:54:45] Floats and it's probably no big deal honestly foam is probably better you don't have to worry about it leaking the sink right you don't have to worry about any of that kind of stuff didn't realize when i so i bought the mike said the pmp version bought the floats didn't realize that you had to buy the hardware all the braces and brackets and all that stuff separately so that'll be here tomorrow so yeah that's about it nice thing about these floats though is it does have the

[00:55:16] Servo built into the float so you don't have to worry about any linkages or anything like that that's cool this other one you had to run the the cable from the tail so i like that but we'll see it'll be a good flyer at joan all it's supposed to be pretty powerful 4s or 6s of course i set mine up for success of course why not it came it came with two different wood propellers which i like nice depending on what size battery you are going to run with it cool so i think that's a 14 8

[00:55:48] Maybe and i think if you're running for us it's like a 15 7 or something i don't remember the exact numbers but yeah so i'm excited about that that'll be fun yeah that'll be a that'll be an excellent joan i know yeah i know cool well congrats so looking forward to that yeah looks very nice thank you and it's smaller than yours both of you have cubs that are bigger than mine so you always say oh yes no see bigger than my goldberg cub though you still have your other

[00:56:19] You still have the l4 i got the big l4 yeah it's electric so it's perfect i like it i'm happy yeah no good i'm glad but yes it will get new bigger wheels yeah eventually yeah i think i have

[00:56:33] A set of the duper ones it's not even so much the wheels it's the hubcaps yeah but anyway yeah but cool cool i'm happy yeah neat so what else i wish i had more to talk about but that's really all i got to leto's coming up well i know i gotta figure out what i'm taking you haven't done anything yet no i've done stuff so what are you taking double vision as much as i love that airplane really well

[00:57:00] I mean i have a coupon i have to take advantage of i mean you're probably smart doing that but that

[00:57:05] Surprises me yeah so i cleaned it up the other night man every time i touch that airplane it's like do i really want to get rid of this i mean the answer is no but anyway box of random stuff which i'm sure you guys are probably putting random boxes stuff together yeah i've got one of those and i'm thinking about i mean you're talking about the cub i was thinking about selling mine honestly

[00:57:29] Oh really thinking about it yeah oh i like the motor on it except it's nitro yeah but still

[00:57:33] That's the thing i mean i like it because it's nitro but for example if i had floats on it it would be a great airplane for joe null except it's nitro powered and i don't know if you saw that this year's on their website specifically says they cannot support nitro of any kind this year really yeah

[00:57:53] That's weird i did not know that yep no it's just it's at the bottom of one of the pages i was i was reading so that's kind of a bummer so yeah i mean like if i can't take it there on floats then we're gonna fly floats yeah when i can't obviously fly my stick off of floats because it also nitro powered so well i don't have a float plane for joe null this year yeah you do well i mean i guess yeah i do have the floats for the timber so i'll probably fly that then oh i got

[00:58:23] The floats for the kingfisher too so yeah i do have those but i mean as far as something that makes noise i wouldn't mind having a 10 cc cub to with a 10 cc only with actual cc's in it right exactly but like yeah i mean that that between those two airplanes and just the box of randomness that's really all i got to take wow maybe the airplane i bought there two years ago that blue thing that i tried to sell up there at the lacrosse i can't believe you weren't able to move

[00:58:57] That you had that stupid jeep it was pretty cheap i thought but anyway yeah it would it would probably have gotten better had it been that it looked better because the covering is kind of it's not

[00:59:10] The prettiest thing i'll give you that i mean it flies good yeah it's really good so that's another

[00:59:15] Nitro one i mean that's exactly yeah and so you're getting out of nitro now because you're no no no don't say that what i'm not getting out of nitro you're not like completely but you're getting away from it more because you're getting more into diesel oh well i have one yeah diesel powered airplane that

[00:59:34] You're gonna fly a lot so that's my point yeah i hope i fly the snot out of it this year yeah gotta

[00:59:39] Get that waiver done first that's not hard cool dave what are you taking i haven't even started i've had

[00:59:47] So many we we have less than two weeks till we leave two weeks from today we will be there i haven't

[00:59:53] Even started i work home dog i had to put up an electric fence so truck truck's been killing me oh me too but i want to talk about that truck now oh it popped a check engine light again yeah what is this time it came back as a bad coil

[01:00:15] That's easy i thought it was unplugged is that the one yeah i fixed it well that was number one

[01:00:20] Cylinder now this is number two lovely ford's yeah well i was on one in 75 for a coil and there's six of them i was like man cha-ching and then new plugs while you're at it you might as well may as well i got on the internet went to amazon ford motorcraft factory parts all six coils six brand new iridium plugs all motorcraft 150 bucks what it's like well that's stupid that's so i went in and

[01:00:51] Popped those on there last weekend engine light gone runs like a champ good deal so apparently 120 000 miles is when your coils die well there you go for all you ford eco boost guys there you go so anyway that was that was fun but i just haven't had time to go through any of my stuff what are you thinking about though i kind of thought about my big t28 yes sorry thought about that the one you repainted the sound system in it yeah okay and why are you saying yes tommy i'm just i'm not a

[01:01:26] Fan of that airplane i don't know if the landing gear functioned properly every time i think that's what it is and i don't want to spend the 75 bucks or whatever it is to buy the new retracks

[01:01:36] Yeah i mean it's a beautiful airplane like the the the paint job and the marking the flight characteristics it flies so great yeah i think it's the uncertainty whether you're gonna i don't

[01:01:46] Like to roll it upside down to make sure the gear goes up right yeah i'm not a big fan of the trojans

[01:01:51] For some reason i've never liked the shape of them yeah it flies beautifully i love flying it yeah but

[01:01:56] Thinking about that i'm thinking about my wright brothers plane that i just haven't got around a flying it's just taking up space it takes up a lot of space down it doesn't break down well and i've built it so that it broke down a little bit if you build it according to the way it's supposed to be built it don't break down at all and it's we well in the expedition that's the only airplane you're taking because it fits the whole truck so i'm thinking about that odds and ends i really don't have a whole lot to throw in a box but i really haven't given much thought of

[01:02:27] I need to clean stuff out but we've got so much stuff going it's just no don't use that as

[01:02:33] An excuse i know if i have to i can get a fourth table oh okay you're talking about the tables which i was gonna say the transportation there is really not a big deal yeah it's the tables when we get there daniel's got a trailer and then we're taking my car too and then daniel's taking his big daniel's

[01:02:46] Taking his big cessna 150 he wants to get rid of oh really yeah so oh that good for him yeah but we may need another table so it's like i'm back and forth i don't i don't plan on buying much so i can live with what i've got yeah i don't want i don't want to buy anything but you yeah i'm not saying that like

[01:03:08] I don't have plans on buying stuff but if something is there that i want yes i'll be i would like to

[01:03:13] Track down one of the fly zone beavers on floats like daniel got last year yes that's i would like to have one of those that's a great journal plan yeah i would like to repaint it because i'm not real crazy about the maroon but hey yeah it flies good it flies good yeah so that's one thing i'm kind of keeping my out for is one of those on the cheap so i'm not really looking to buy a whole lot yeah

[01:03:36] I think we're going to need a fourth table because that double vision takes up a lot of room and then all of that it's going to take up quite a bit of room and if daniel's bringing that big 150

[01:03:49] That'll take up some room so anyway we'll talk about later yeah but i just really haven't gone through my stuff to see what i really want to get of and if i take that trojan it's huge yeah yeah

[01:03:59] That's not a small airplane even for a foamy that's not a small airplane that's a big airplane

[01:04:05] Yeah yeah i mean we can absolutely see if i get another table hope it's not too late for him to

[01:04:10] Move around like i said don't worry about me i'll figure out what's going on and i'll adjust well we can always see you when we get there too like not everything has to go out right away either you

[01:04:22] Know what i mean true i'm saying wings don't have to go on at first they can we can make

[01:04:26] It yeah that's exactly right down yeah we can make three tables work i bet that will talk especially if

[01:04:32] I don't take my cup and i've thought about bringing the the cub i just finished reselling it because i've

[01:04:39] Already got it i've got a brand new one in the kit i know but i want the launch i want the long span

[01:04:44] The wing yeah i like that cup yeah i've thought about it i i probably won't talk about the navy one the navy one the any one yeah yeah i haven't even started the engine i don't even know if the engine runs good looking airplane well buy it what i got other stuff i have to buy

[01:05:04] Anyway that's where we're at okay about you oh wait never mind never mind all sitting over there

[01:05:09] Not all but most and there's more yeah so i've got a list i've got a bunch oh my gosh so i'm going to be taking the the that edge 540 mini that you built i don't remember when or what long time ago it's a flighton or fliton yeah flition fly f-l-i-t-o-n weird one fly is awesome the the schleicher guy glider that i bought there a couple years ago or last year a couple years ago had a whole bunch of plans for it but what reality sets in and that's just not my favorite

[01:05:44] So it's not worth putting time or effort into getting rid of the sea wind the micro draco is going

[01:05:52] Bye-bye ec 1500 that makes me sad a little bit which one the ec 1500 why could you let me fly that

[01:05:59] One a couple times and i really like that one it flies great it's got a ton of power like it's a great flying airplane awesome flying airplane but it's just not for me gotcha i mean it's cool you can drop stuff out of it but it's just not for me and it does have skis too which is kind of cool but it's just not for me it doesn't work in fluffy snow yeah well he got it reggie got it kind of is going i had to kind of throw it a little bit yeah that's reggie the tower hobbies cherokee it's gonna be going away the 450 size club the e-flight cub on floats that i got last year was it last year yeah it was

[01:06:37] Last year i think it was last year we'll be going back up the stinger 90 millimeter is going bye-bye e-flight f-16 80 millimeter going bye-bye that makes me sad a little bit too it's only because i'm an f-16 guy yeah i like it i'm not otherwise i would be keeping it but it was an f-18 it wouldn't be going right yeah and i get that ones that are in the garage are not going i get that but i'm gonna be honest like the the gear setup that they have on that it's impressive like it it's very scale and

[01:07:09] Looks very cool yeah i'm impressed with the landing gear setup on it but anyway so also the the fun one remember that old one from you i think i'm gonna be taking up just to make room that's got a small sato something or another on it that's nitro 65 on it if i think it was like 50 something is it it could be a 56 but i thought it was a 65 either way so you don't nitro motor on it the problem with that one though is that that was the cody plane that i cut the the vinyl was it

[01:07:44] Vinyl i remember what it was but so it's got cody's name on it big on the wing so that's not going to go over well you can only sell that to cody right right i hope there's a cody that shows up that wants it and then i'm keep going back and forth and i have not made up my mind on the cree cree

[01:08:03] That surprises whatever because it's so different that's the only thing that makes me want to keep it yeah it flies good like i really does i was impressed with i thought it was gonna be a lot worse than it was put it that way with the small wing and stuff i feel like it flies really nice i just don't it's it's odd it's a once a year flight kind of thing yeah because the way the engines are hung

[01:08:26] On the nacelle that it actually looks like it's flying upside down so hard which which makes no

[01:08:31] Sense honestly and then it's got a fishbowl on top of it the canopy you should be able to tell that it's not upside down but then you see those and it's like messes with your mind it's like oh my inverted a little bit yeah so that's like i yeah that's my list and then a small box of

[01:08:48] Odds and ends that i just don't need plenty plenty of stuff the stuff it's going to be rc plane lab guys we'll be at toledo it's going to be a good so if you guys are going to toledo make sure to stop by and say hi because i i like it and i know dave likes it when you guys come up to us and say hello and introduce yourselves and i do to us we can even record a little sound bite for you yeah we'll have you right on the show don't don't say that yeah because i gotta remember to take that thing we'll try to remember to take our sound recorder thing much better so

[01:09:17] That we can potentially i can promise to try i can't promise to do yeah let's not leave it in the truck like we did last year right yeah tommy wasn't here last year no but we know you're coming

[01:09:29] This year yeah we did take it somewhere though where we headed out only briefly joan all you did joan all that's right yeah yeah anyway but that's fun looking forward to toledo me too hopefully we'll see folks there that we have seen previously and and new faces new friends yeah anything else that's

[01:09:50] All i got i just gotta put a little teaser out there oh oh oh i know what he's gonna talk i've got a box coming from a main i'm really excited for him so i'm excited for him also so we'll just say there's a big mystery box coming for me he smiles and look at him look at what it is he's beaming yeah i would say he's beaming so we'll see we'll see it's gonna be a frustrating couple

[01:10:13] Weeks yeah but i mean frustrating sure but also exciting something brand new and like it like

[01:10:20] Completely brand new it's like yeah it's like a new universe it's not like i've never done this before this is all new yeah so we'll just leave it at that oh god i can't wait cool anything else
