What does it mean to be a patron through Patreon?

If you’re not familiar with Patreon, it’s a service that allows our listeners to support RC Plane Lab by making recurring monthly monetary contributions. This can be cancelled at any time. Patreon takes care of all the behind the scenes billing and distribution of the funds, making it super easy for everyone involved. It even works if you’re listening internationally. They take care of the conversion and all the difficult stuff. Being a patron means you are supporting RC Plane Lab.

Why Patreon, and will any content hide behind a paywall?

We decided to start on Patreon because we have some ideas of things we want to do in the future to grow the RC Plane Lab empire, but it takes money. Normally with Patreon, we’re supposed to set up different tiers at different price points and give extra episodes or more content to our patrons. We listen to lots of podcasts, and watch a lot of YouTube channels that do it that way. To be honest, we are not fans of holding content hostage unless you pay for it. We don’t want to hold back any of our shows or any of the stuff we talk about or do because we know there are people that don’t have the extra money every month to pay for extra content. But they still want to listen and be part of RC Plane Lab. With that in mind, nothing is going to change on how we are releasing episodes. Nothing is going to change with the premise of the podcast.

What are we asking?

We’re all RC airplane fans, so what we are asking is that if you enjoy RC Plane Lab, or if you have learned anything, or if you think we’re doing a good job, or if you like us, or if you want to support what we do, show us some love by becoming a patron.

How much does this cost?

We have not set up any price points. That’s up to you. If you want to be a patreon and give us 5 bucks, great. If you want to give 50 bucks, great. $1? Great. It’s totally up to you. No amount is too big or too small.

What will we do with the money?

At this point, any money we get will go back into making this a better podcast, and helping to purchase equipment to help grow the RC Plane Lab brand. We are here because you guys listen. If it wasn’t for you, we’d look kind of silly sitting here talking to ourselves! If you guys want more from us, this is the best way to make it happen. Like I said, we want to expand what we do, and we’re asking for a little help to make that happen. We appreciate any Patrons we get.
