[unknown speaker 00:00:40] nice job buddy so this is weird not gonna lie 2025 year-end wrap-up recording on october 5th it's the 5th october 5th as everybody knows by now tommy is gone so by the magic of recording early and just letting this sit for two and a half months he's back for an episode

[unknown speaker 00:01:32] what do we start with well it's a year-end wrap-up so we're going to talk about what we did this year

[unknown speaker 00:01:37] up to up to october 5th are you even going to say why we are doing this early well by the time this

[unknown speaker 00:01:45] comes out everybody will everybody will know because we'll have two months with no tommy oh i didn't i

[unknown speaker 00:01:50] didn't know when you were going to broadcast this got it okay never mind it's the year end

[unknown speaker 00:01:57] i'm slow today i told you i'm hungover yeah i understand the confusion but that's okay so yeah as we said before this is october 5th yes apparently a day after lori's birthday she is still not the brightest feeling yeah feeling the effects of her celebration

[unknown speaker 00:02:17] we hope that's what it is it was a it's 50 wonderful this year so i celebrated now you all know what he deals with oh we know

[unknown speaker 00:02:33] i tell stories i hope they're good always they're always very very flattering of course they are so what so yeah i've been deployed for a couple months i'd love to tell you that it's been going great but honestly we're recording before i've deployed so i i'm just assuming at this point anyway it'll go great i think

[unknown speaker 00:03:03] everything will be fine it'll be good it'll be fine it'll be so fine this one's different than last time yes it's not the same location no it's different and it's not last time it's this time it's different

[unknown speaker 00:04:35] year the wind here has been just bad yeah yeah we had wind early when a lot and then it was hot wind in the middle yeah it went windy straight to the hot too hot to be outside to do anything and yeah but there's still some flying time left no there's not because it's the end of december right now but hopefully between now and the time this actually airs you guys will get a lot of flying

[unknown speaker 00:05:24] happened you know we we i feel like we've we've all done a lot of stuff this year even though it may not feel like it like you know i got my turbine waiver that's big oh yeah they've got a brand new well new to him vehicle that's i mean we've we've done some stuff this year and it was this year that

[unknown speaker 00:05:39] dave went to the dark side what is it oh i went to freeze guy oh that's right yes i changed radio systems that's big that i mean that's an entirely i've had two big changes in my rc life rc world

[unknown speaker 00:05:53] yeah see lots of stuff plus we went to we'll talk about them went to quite a few events more than

[unknown speaker 00:06:00] we have in previous years i think i think just knowing my numbers are lower means i know i haven't

[unknown speaker 00:06:06] done as much rc stuff this year oh you mean flying well i think in general your goal this year was a

[unknown speaker 00:06:13] little less than last year anyway didn't hit it so that's okay well but also i mean yeah you're you're flying your number of flights numbers are lower but that's not because you haven't been trying like you showed up to a couple events with stuff ready to fly and you just didn't feel like flying so you didn't

[unknown speaker 00:06:32] fly yeah that's i mean am i wrong okay he's right i'm trying to think what well you went to buda park

[unknown speaker 00:06:41] you had airplanes in the car and you didn't get them out oh that's because it was 105 degrees yes and i

[unknown speaker 00:06:46] did not want to do anything we were melting just sitting there and you you went to eli at least once with an airplane in the car and didn't pull it out to fly it yep you had the jet in the car and you didn't pull it out and fly it on one event no i didn't fly it i flew it before because i was there

[unknown speaker 00:07:06] day we were there the jet was in the car because you were making oh yeah yeah yeah i know what you're

[unknown speaker 00:07:14] you've been to places i should say yeah fields i got you now prepared to fly but not flown so yeah your numbers are lower but full times it's not because you haven't tried you you went prepared to fly you

[unknown speaker 00:07:26] just didn't well the time you're talking about when i didn't fly my jet sure we can talk about that was when i was purposefully there purposefully there for you to get your waiver wasn't it no it

[unknown speaker 00:07:38] was after that oh no because you you had the airplane my mind it sounded better no your airplane was out the day i did the waiver because there's pictures of them together on the flight line i don't remember anyway even though you think we haven't done as much we we did a lot this year

[unknown speaker 00:08:52] year right i'm sorry yes okay because yeah i met terry finally for the first time i thought that was this year yeah yeah yeah you're right man time old people right like i started dealing with old people hard yes sorry that's over 50 crowd we're impossible yes jamesville wisconsin was january was

[unknown speaker 00:09:08] a january yeah yeah okay because this is the second time yes it was right dave i remember yes second and so the first time tommy didn't go because he was out of town yeah yeah granted we'd start at

[unknown speaker 00:09:18] four in the morning so yeah it's a little foggy yeah well and i'm old so he's not a morning person and i'm not a morning really not a morning person but yeah that was so we all went this year yes even reggie was there remember no i remember that yeah reggie was with us yeah we tried to get him to buy lots of stuff oh that's right he didn't no he didn't but i don't think he was close he almost bought that b2 mm-hmm yeah and i picked up the um

[unknown speaker 00:09:57] too i've flown that one too so now you're no it's kind of a thing so you guys remember i bought that box of wheels it had like 50 60 wheels in it and some landing gear that thing is gone i have torn my house apart i cannot find that box of wheels it's a big old box how do you lose that it wasn't a small box it is gone i have no and it's not like you live in a mansion where it could be hiding somewhere

[unknown speaker 00:10:28] and you're like oh just take it all for five bucks oh no not the wheels oh that was just a box of

[unknown speaker 00:10:37] being landing gear or wheels or something because you were like i will never use all these yeah no something wheels oh okay it was not the wheels i'm i know you sold some wheels at toledo though you tried i bought your wheels oh that's right was that your box of wheels i mean i had a box of

[unknown speaker 00:10:57] wheels but i had them all packaged you guys aren't all hungover well no i haven't had drinks since 2007

[unknown speaker 00:11:44] whole box are you sure that you didn't leave it there oh i'm absolutely certain i know i remember having it at home because i had other wheels laying around i threw in the box okay okay and i have no idea yeah well neither do i a curious case of the missing week it's got to be there somewhere then

[unknown speaker 00:12:03] something yeah they're not out there oh you look i've i've torn everything apart but anyway moving on now they're probably in the back of the old truck when you got rid of it

[unknown speaker 00:12:12] yeah i found fifty five dollars in the old truck when i got what paying for fifty five dollars and change don't spend it all in one place i haven't okay

[unknown speaker 00:12:23] well i could probably buy a box of wheels well i paid ten dollars or maybe that's what he made off of the wheels somebody left that for him could be hey thanks for the wheels here's fifty five dollars and some change and some change odds and ends so that was a nice surprise cleaning out

[unknown speaker 00:12:42] yeah right that's the highlight reel so what do you remember what you bought in janesville i remember what i bought i see i know i didn't prepare very well for i bought two very cool things

[unknown speaker 00:13:00] don't really remember no i remember well i'll just say it then i bought the e-flight f-18 the

[unknown speaker 00:13:05] blue angel f-18 that was oh that was there yeah that was oh it was on that table okay i'm seeing

[unknown speaker 00:13:10] it now and then from the same guy i bought the su-27 yeah yeah the two tones very much i've only flown it twice but i need to fly it more and there's no reason i haven't flown it because it flies good yeah well here we go 2026 yeah i bought those and i sold a bunch of covering remember that i had a box of covering that like sold as i was bringing it into the building yeah i don't think it's

[unknown speaker 00:13:31] all coming back i don't think i brought anything to sell i don't remember buying anything did i i might have i don't remember i'm gonna say no because my wife is next to me

[unknown speaker 00:14:10] know what's down there for i can tell you right now everything that is in the basement is mine that's true i don't have anyone else's no stuff in my basement right nope i am all caught up on

[unknown speaker 00:14:21] projects that's awesome yeah thank goodness and the basement is now totally yours again yeah so just in time to leave oh here we got no more flowers no more flowers so side note daughter got married

[unknown speaker 00:14:32] a couple weeks ago and our basement was full of flowers and decorations and stuff for several months yes i've been working and now that is all like february time for me to leave and i sold it all

[unknown speaker 00:14:42] and they were absolutely gorgeous one fell sweep i sold it all to the or one fell swoop whatever you know thanks you're good at pointing out you know that's a wrong for you no but i sold it to the wedding ceremony facility she bought all of it that's awesome and so that was big this year my daughter got married that's you know it's kind of big year she is no longer our problem kind of

[unknown speaker 00:15:08] effects that's kind of rc related because it affected my it really did it displays a lot of

[unknown speaker 00:15:14] his stuff i said oh i'm not going to take up that much space and then all of a sudden it was everywhere

[unknown speaker 00:15:18] it was okay yeah it was beautiful yep it was a beautiful wedding anyway back to this well you don't remember what you bought i don't remember what you bought either i don't either is there they

[unknown speaker 00:15:28] bought wheels i bought a box of wheels and i got terry's xb-70 terry does oh that's right yep have

[unknown speaker 00:15:34] you flown that since well we're going to talk about it but yeah i have tried to fly it again and

[unknown speaker 00:15:38] it's still not flying so okay we'll talk about it in a minute i mean what are you doing ron i was

[unknown speaker 00:15:44] just looking stuff up on my phone for funsies oh okay you just waiting i figured you would talk okay well then our next event that i have if we're going to move on we went to toledo

[unknown speaker 00:15:55] which is another swap meet you guys always go to that one right well we tried not next year

[unknown speaker 00:16:00] we tried to he's not the year before you didn't make it last year right or was it the year before

[unknown speaker 00:16:06] last year it was it was the year before yeah i was here i was here this year i bought his tom

[unknown speaker 00:16:16] then hopefully makes it from then in perpetuity from then perpetuity wow that means forever for those that are done i just haven't heard that word in a while perpetuity well once he gets home from

[unknown speaker 00:16:27] this trip he told me he doesn't have to go anywhere for two years right but that's it's called dwell but

[unknown speaker 00:16:34] yeah i understood but and you got three left so it's still possible no i wouldn't say no well

[unknown speaker 00:16:41] that's true it's highly unlikely highly unlikely yeah we thought even going again would be highly

[unknown speaker 00:16:47] unlikely we did yeah well no we knew i was going to go october of 26 yes that's true yes but that was

[unknown speaker 00:17:07] yeah we've we've known about the yeah we're getting off topic yeah that's fine so tommy's gone now anyway we went to toledo this year toledo always a good time to hang out with hank and those guys and we raced rc cars i've raced rc cars for the first time in 15 years probably it's been a while yeah and

[unknown speaker 00:17:30] it was fun and mine is still sitting back there whatever you call that under the tv stand thing

[unknown speaker 00:17:34] yeah it was a good time under the tv well what does mrcrc okay so i'll be honest i don't know okay

[unknown speaker 00:17:46] when that is tommy's old truck that came to him somehow yeah i got it from ed ed yeah and it had a pink and green and white body on it the boy was colorblind well it was i thought tommy painted it to be honest because it was right up his alley in colors but anyway so oh oh the look come on you know that is what you wow oh that's beautiful it was very 70s vintage with like the really need to start i guess that was video but anyway so yeah it was the cab over you'll have to correct me because i don't know

[unknown speaker 00:18:18] what all the terms are so this is what i would call it this is the blank trucks tamiya the tto ones tto ones okay the euro trucks and so i was running that body doing practice laps and all that kind of stuff and it was broken it was in many many pieces it was fopping pretty good yeah yeah the body yeah and it kept hitting it was causing digging into the ground and yeah i was not doing very good so

[unknown speaker 00:18:49] somehow i don't remember if somebody told me they had one for sale if i saw the body sitting there for sale but it was like 10 bucks and my god it made a huge difference in how that ran and switched to

[unknown speaker 00:18:58] a conventional yeah it's more of a conventional cab as opposed to a cab over where all the weight is

[unknown speaker 00:19:02] not over the front right yeah and so i don't know what the body means or what that was i did take off all the marijuana stickers that were on it oh yes it has a green theme yes and black so there's there's a lot of black on there but dave saved the day on this one too because he rolls out his 700 pound little luggage container whatever that he takes with all his all his racing gear in it and when i bought this one the the front mounts were different they were shorter or no the cab over uses

[unknown speaker 00:19:36] a different set of mounts right and so of course i got the body but the guy didn't have the right mounts for it and dave went through his like i said it takes a forklift to get it out of his truck just menagerie of parts that he brought with him you are full of big words well crystal bought me a word of the day calendar so i'm trying to get them all in at once thank you and she pays him a quarter every time he uses them so it's not a quarter there's other ways but anyway so yes dave saved

[unknown speaker 00:20:08] the day on that and i was able to to race and have fun it was a bunch of a bunch of fun i had never done that before so that was a first this year for carpet racing for me it was a good time i think

[unknown speaker 00:20:18] they're going to change it up as per our recommendations maybe not just our recommendations but they'll maybe do the racing and the timing of it a little bit differently so we can concentrate on

[unknown speaker 00:20:28] the yeah swap meet as well but yeah hope we'll see what next year brings and we'll let you know

[unknown speaker 00:20:56] flown it several times and it's a good looking airplane it's in the matt chapman scheme and that will lead to another story we'll talk about later but yeah i think that was the only real thing i bought i sold a lot well you said you bought a lot well i guess i spent a lot on one airplane which that was a lot of money on one airplane but it's cool but i sold the yeah sold quite a bit of stuff i and tried to sell some stuff that didn't sell which that you know that's part of it but i sold the you know the double vision biplane which was

[unknown speaker 00:21:30] that hurt a little bit you know because that that thing flies really really good and it was had it was a really good setup well why did you sell it then big it's difficult to get in and out of the house same reason i sold the beast last year yeah is it just was that last year no that was this year the beast also just too big to get in and out of the house without damaging them so so yeah i was sad to see that go and then a few other smaller airplanes i think the toledo special that i bought a couple years previous that one sold and then what else did i sell i think i

[unknown speaker 00:22:05] sold an e-flight something but ron you sold a lot of stuff did i yeah you sold a lot of e-flight stuff remember no gosh the charity right that was one of them then i think you sold did you sell a twin or something there i don't remember there's pictures somewhere was that this

[unknown speaker 00:22:32] yourselves pull up the pictures i have as far as selling i got rid of my t28 which i didn't really want to get rid of but it was just taking up too much room i got rid of my right flyer oh i'm which was sold twice at the event yeah that's weird how did you sell it twice he didn't sell it twice no oh the the purchaser sold it again oh oh so yeah because they weren't sure they could get it in the van to get it home oh did they make some money off of it i guess but i don't care

[unknown speaker 00:23:07] yeah i got what i mean yeah exactly as far as shopping goes i really didn't even leave leave our group i bought tom's wheels i bought ron's cub and i bought daniel's stinson you sold your t28 though and the camo one the big t28 yeah yeah we sold the big t28 what'd you do with that cub i forgot all about that it's still sitting in my back room waiting to be recovered okay and one of the launchers is broken on it now i think it had a dog incident yeah so ron sold an f16 he sold a

[unknown speaker 00:25:33] oh the ec 1500 welcome that was another one five minutes ago yeah i know sorry uh-huh yeah i forgot about the ec15 so that was the twin you were talking about i'm like i don't know what you're talking about twin yeah good time losing my mind no you're not i'm not yet we're all getting there wow just getting old which by the way dave because i just saw it and remembered so the the floats i kept off of the the cub right if you had another project for them and apparently they won't work

[unknown speaker 00:27:19] thing i've ever seen yeah but it was kind of awesome at the same time hopefully ron will fly it at joan all at some point we'll see viper 90 on floats yeah should fly that one i think for next time

[unknown speaker 00:27:35] i'm i'm probably going to replace my twin otter the blue one that i've taken yeah yeah replace it with the new bigger the new bigger one that assembles easier that looks nicer that yeah this one flies better because it's a bit bigger and this one has seen a lot of flights and it was purposefully bought for joan all so i think it's time to sell it at joan all i could that would be fitting that would that would be on the line yeah be fitting be fitting either way ron will correct

[unknown speaker 00:39:04] did because had you not i probably would not have flown it you would still now late december be trying to get into probably yeah but no that that was a cool story for those that haven't been following the the dualist projects that we put together a couple years ago were spurred by a story that i had crashed a dualist at booter park when i was going to college down there and how i wanted to build another one and ron said well you know we can get the plans let's just and we've got a laser cutter let's just build some so we did and then yeah i returned to

[unknown speaker 00:39:39] booter park to fly a dualist successfully which was kind of a neat story and even the neatest thing

[unknown speaker 00:39:45] some of those parts on your new dualist were from the old dualist that's correct retracts are from the

[unknown speaker 00:40:04] oh this would have been like 91 and two maybe somewhere in there yeah let's say 92 okay and we built

[unknown speaker 00:40:11] our dualists three years 22 i think so yeah about three years ago so you literally had parts from this airplane sitting i kid you not then from the math we just did for two decades yes correct 20 years yeah 365 days times 20 yes damn i would have gotten rid of them all the moves i mean we've moved like

[unknown speaker 00:40:36] three times four times since then yeah and so you're like oh one of these days and it was it was it was a thorn in his side the whole time because he was just very it was he's very upset about the whole thing because that original one he took it back to the balsa because it was fuel soaked so he meticulously i'm surprised you remember that you probably talk about it all the time no he really didn't no he meticulously restored that plane and was very excited about flying that plane because the

[unknown speaker 00:41:08] retracks and everything on it so the the original dualist was was actually given to me by the guy that taught me how to fly yeah so like the dualist story goes almost back to the beginning of my yeah flying hobby entrance yeah 1947 so i mean you know yeah i hung on to the stuff for a long time but like you know a couple of nitro engines and some retracts they don't take up that much room so that's the big deal and honestly

[unknown speaker 00:41:52] satisfying to to return he can close that chapter and fly a dualist with the original some of the original parts successfully at the place where the other one met its demise he's very sentimental about some things believe it or not he is but yes the day was extremely warm and and eventful it was hot i mean not only did i get to fly the dualist we got to fly our electrostreaks well most of us successfully flew our electrostreaks i flew mine for a little while

[unknown speaker 00:57:28] the stuff and i mean there's mclaren cars sitting next to real shelby must or shelby cobras and blah blah blah and so that kind of took my eyes off of the mustang from there so we went into the hangar which connects to another hangar and when you go out of that hangar the mustang was sitting between the two and we just walked right by it and didn't even notice poor mustang i know i mean i've seen it before but piper hadn't so i thought that would be something kind of cool for her to see in person she was the one that said she wanted to walk over there no but it was a good time like i said

[unknown speaker 01:00:27] okay so now that was all of our events we've done and we are now over an hour in let's talk about flights and what our highlights of the year were should we start off with highlights and then go to flights or you want to do flights and then go to highlights well let's do highlights okay first

[unknown speaker 01:00:44] for me the highlight of this year was getting my jet running and then getting my getting my turbine waver that was kind of the highlight of my hobby this year yeah dave switching away from

[unknown speaker 01:00:58] spectrum moving into free sky yeah love that system yeah not looking back nice ron well i have two okay

[unknown speaker 01:01:09] and one is directly related to the hobby and one is ancillary to the hobby so i got my trailer this year which i think is awesome good job crystal loves it do i you do i i think we have hauled more house it's convenient yeah we we have used it more for hauling what's what i'm looking for like house supplies and and that kind of stuff from the store and project oh yeah because we are doing our soffits

[unknown speaker 01:01:40] and or not gutters yet but soffits and fascia so we needed that for that so anyway that was nice he's

[unknown speaker 01:01:47] trying to justify it i absolutely did and you've used it i'm sorry go ahead no but i'm gonna say so i

[unknown speaker 01:01:52] think we used it more for non-hobby related stuff than hobby stuff tripwise this year but actually getting work on that and getting it kind of the way you guys have taken it camping a couple times

[unknown speaker 01:02:03] too right not camping in it but as well but you've taken it yeah which is not bring the golf cart rc

[unknown speaker 01:02:10] specific yeah so so yeah nice little fridge we've used that more for not rc stuff than we have for rc stuff just saying so it's not an rc trailer okay the other thing you getting your waiver oh i mean i think that that was cool that's the first you're the first person i've signed off on a waiver which i appreciate that's fitting isn't it it oddly enough kind of yeah and i just i think it's so cool that now somebody else in our group dave has a turbine waiver for us to go fly together and all

[unknown speaker 01:03:12] and i'll admit it it was just not a good time at that moment no i get it but yeah really the only good

[unknown speaker 01:03:41] wants to go first crystal so i really thought i know i know what was your goal well i didn't remember my goal i thought it was four but apparently it was maybe it was four we can say four if you want i thought i had flown three times but apparently it was only two it seemed like four yeah it seemed like four i'm gonna say four two didn't get marked no no because it's funny it was i remember this

[unknown speaker 01:04:07] actually it was the beginning part of the year i'm pretty sure you said you wanted to fly three flights this year maybe it was four whatever but you got two flights in and then i asked if you wanted to fly more and you said no i want to save them for the end of the year so i don't do it all now and that was like beginning yeah january your flights it was like five degrees but you know by the time this

[unknown speaker 01:04:30] comes out so she may have her the rest of her flights in well it's funny because we were talking

[unknown speaker 01:04:35] about that today yeah i told them because you could do it here let's go now let's go now right and i look outside and the the the limbs are bending over almost touching the ground on the trees from the wind it's pretty windy yeah and i'm like no she's like well just give me a phone you

[unknown speaker 01:04:48] don't care about i don't care if i crash i just want to fly no i don't want to crash but you know i mean if it happens it happens a for effort just flying a kite does that count

[unknown speaker 01:05:05] i mean yeah it could still she could potentially still make it yeah because you do have you know

[unknown speaker 01:05:12] a couple months left you could always do an addendum well and technically i think you could probably percentage-wise got closer to your goal than i did so way to go honey no thank you how many did you

[unknown speaker 01:05:24] get how about we want to talk about okay okay so my goal was to learn to fly but i got sidetracked by our daughter's wedding that did take up a significant amount of my time well that was your choice it didn't have to priority right right that took up a lot as so when i'm just gonna say this right now when this whole started hannah said i can do this myself i don't need a whole lot of your help and

[unknown speaker 01:05:56] then quickly it became i don't know what i'm doing i don't know what i need i don't know what i'm doing and so then it became okay let's do this and so one idea led to another led to another led to the whole basement looking like hobby lobby and for a very long period of time not the old cool hobby lobby with airplanes by the way no this would be the floral section of hobby lobby literally there was not there was a pathway that tom could take to his airplanes and the rest were literal florals everywhere

[unknown speaker 01:06:32] and so that did take up a significant amount of time and hannah did promise to help but she made one she made one arrangement and said i'm done i'm good well she helped never said how much she she did she did she did and then it was consumed with bridal fittings you know a couple of trips to ohio a couple of trips to ohio yeah for his mom so he

[unknown speaker 01:06:57] could help her get her wedding attire together and i'm just hearing lots lots of excuses being made

[unknown speaker 01:07:03] i don't think basically what it boils down to is it was either always too hot yes that you didn't

[unknown speaker 01:07:08] want and or it was too far away you're not going to eli or whatever yeah you want to be gone all day

[unknown speaker 01:07:13] which i get that's yeah okay i think if you asked our daughter she would say it was very well worthwhile my time was worth oh i'm not saying it wasn't worthwhile i am yes just so bottom line is bottom line i did not fly at all anything i know that's okay yeah yeah but i don't remember what your goal was just to learn to fly to fly yeah zero percent zero percent so was it

[unknown speaker 01:07:44] yeah okay so it was two years ago that you went up to her yeah i think that was when you went i think that was two years ago was four for you and then yeah three was last year yeah so i'm not going to

[unknown speaker 01:07:56] make a commitment next year because you never know what's going to happen right i mean you've hit your goals splendidly last five times wait a minute time out i did meet my goal when i finished the plane that one year that was last year by the skin of my teeth she did i did finish so yeah and how

[unknown speaker 01:08:26] okay so who's next dave tommy me i don't care just somebody all right so my goal was 100 flights

[unknown speaker 01:08:36] i currently as of this time warp episode have 78 flights so we're so you can still make it it's still doable and i think i was in the same position last year where i was had to cram in at the end of the year but we're going to make it i think out of those flights so far i've had seven maidens and two crashes which is exactly what i had last year was two crashes nice both of them were identical with this high-speed destruction

[unknown speaker 01:09:09] dave has a type i haven't you need a new theme he goes all around for crashes if i'm going to crash damn it i'm going to just make it do it yeah make it memorable current inventory is 51 aircraft last year was 52 so i am currently net negative one well done i did not fly at all in february or april

[unknown speaker 01:09:36] i'm sure it was windy and wet it just didn't happen yep and then no excuse but i've been was having transportation issues starting in march so no excuse i'm going to give an excuse

[unknown speaker 01:09:52] i think that's a valid that's fine i understand yeah but i had the mustang so there's kind of limits there and then i finally got the wife's car up and running so i did have a little santa fe and so you know i was a little limited santa fe's got some tires on it i didn't want to travel very far with so i was pretty much limited to local but now we've got that problem squared away

[unknown speaker 01:10:17] as far as the airplane i flew the most this year was the mctwist i have 15 flights on the mctwist this year i can see that it was a good flying airplane and it's small it's convenient it went to with me a lot in the mustang because you can just sit in the back seat yep followed by the ultra slow stick had 11 flights both of those were on the list last year but they flip-flopped positions mctwist took over and then the fms super cub i got seven flights on so those

[unknown speaker 01:10:51] were the top three that i flew this year of all the flights i had this year i had 71 electric flights i had two gas flights same as last year dave's spreadsheet is very detailed yeah and he did it all just now and i had five glow flights so i had more glow flights this year percentages are and it actually adds up to 99 because of rounding but 91 electric two percent gas exactly same as last year

[unknown speaker 01:11:21] and up to six percent glow this year nice well done and that's what i've got yeah pretty sophisticated

[unknown speaker 01:11:30] spreadsheet you got there dave not hard to do well my spreadsheet is not nearly as detailed even if i had my correct spreadsheet in front of me but i am sitting at 151 flights for the year and the airplane that i have flown the most believe it or not is my umx ultrax that thing is just so easy that last year as well yeah i just i can fly that thing in my front yard and i do so 32 flights on that one alone wow what's your next next most the next most uh

[unknown speaker 01:12:02] flown yeah would be the fms kingfisher i put a lot of flights on that at joe knoll and then i flew it a lot i forget what january 1st this year we flew in the snow remember it was actually the or whatever day i'll give you the date here anyway i fly that airplane a lot because same reason it's pretty small it's convenient and it flies on a 3s 2200 so it behaves itself i have a bunch of those next after that is the is the 90 millimeter viper january 11th yeah 16 flights on the 90

[unknown speaker 01:12:38] millimeter viper so that tells you how good that airplane flies and it's i technically if i combine the 70 millimeter vipers the old blue one and the orange one that one is actually more than the 90 millimeter viper so i guess you could conceivably say that the 70 millimeter viper i've flown more than the 90 but that's two different airplanes so they you know the numbers anyway yeah so that's my top three so i'm sitting at 151 which i don't remember setting a goal for this year but i

[unknown speaker 01:13:09] think that was probably around that so i'm pretty happy with the year overall yeah i don't remember if i had a goal either i don't know why i had 200 in my mind but oh i mean i guess technically there's still some time but probably not for me so that's probably where i'll probably where i'll end for the year maybe maybe plus five or so if i can get away and maybe fly the jet once or twice before i leave

[unknown speaker 01:13:44] yeah it is so my goal was 300 flights i currently sit at 131 which is pathetic but that's okay total airplanes i'm down to 60 nine maidens and six new ones and got rid of like 14 is what i have on here and let's see what else total of 60 i don't know if i said that i did just say that and then my top three slow ultra stick the mb339 and the fms f18 yeah so last year i had 73 airplanes this

[unknown speaker 01:14:20] year i'm down to 60 so that's 13 less honey nice yeah yeah so i i forgot to tally my numbers an improvement so right now i'm at 34 flyable and then the the numbers for the others have not changed so it's 34 plus another 12 in various stages of kits mostly so what was what was your tally last year how many planes did you i don't remember i'm net i'm net minus i'm because i sold a bunch yeah that's what i'm thinking yeah bought a lot because i've been putting jets together yeah

[unknown speaker 01:14:54] so from last year to this year i am down 337 flights ouch i flew a lot last year not this year

[unknown speaker 01:15:02] so yeah but that's okay that's really disappointing it is what it is so that's our year in a nutshell

[unknown speaker 01:15:16] well i'm gonna okay so two goals that i have just right off the top of my head get the atom complete and flying so i have two flyable jets that would be i guess my first goal and my second goal would be to fly more than i flew this year even if it's by one even if it's just by one okay dave same

[unknown speaker 01:15:40] oh same oh try to get another hundred that seems to be where i tend to be able to do well i mean and get out and travel a little bit more realistically you have a new dependable vehicle

[unknown speaker 01:15:53] now yeah that is capable of pulling the trailer and is also capable of pulling big airplanes so i can see you meeting that goal and probably exceeding it by several like i said want to try

[unknown speaker 01:16:03] to get out more yeah now i don't have to rely on daniel all the time to go out and about yeah i guess

[unknown speaker 01:16:08] i guess actually that would be a third goal of mine visit more new airfields like decatur peoria

[unknown speaker 01:16:13] things like that that could just be an overall podcast goal though too yeah i kind of yeah because

[unknown speaker 01:16:18] that'll be my thing too okay yeah yeah let's just do it that way about you ron going for 300 next year probably won't hit it again but who knows okay it all depends if i can yeah so aim high yeah
