[00:00:04] Hello everyone and welcome to the rc plane lab podcast i'm ron oh hey i'm tom and i'm dave what are you writing over there tom i was writing you a note a little love note

[00:00:20] Oh what number is this yeah like what show number is this what episode it's up there

[00:00:27] It's like up there i don't remember what it is but we've been doing this a while did

[00:00:32] Dave say hi yes oh he did okay he said his line and i'm dave and i'm dave matches the shirt

[00:00:41] I couldn't remember oh geez it says right there 165 yeah i was just curious well now you're not curious i'm not curious because i know so this is what this episode is going to be like apparently we we're light on things we've not done a lot i mean yes but we're a day earlier recording well that that's my fault yeah that's okay i do like thursdays better but we're doing it wednesday that's okay yeah that's fine it's all fine a couple new airplanes that we will talk

[00:01:13] In brief about we won't get too much into it one kind of upsets me not really upset welcome to

[00:01:19] Dave's world yeah oh gosh i don't want to sound like that that's cool airplane i might have to buy

[00:01:25] Another one anyway tommy and i went to a fly-in over in champagne that was kind of nice we can talk about that in a little bit we flew a couple airplanes maiden flew or maiden a few airplanes yeah you guys are running out of stuff to maiden yet no that sucks yeah i'm out of stuff to maiden good for you all my stuff has been flown i still i have i have some i don't know how many you do well we're going to talk about one of them what else yeah that's about it we went flying and

[00:01:59] I may have crashed something and we'll talk about that coming yeah we'll talk about that one really bothers me why because it was 100 percent my fault well yes but we'll get there it does bug you but

[00:02:15] It is what it is i mean i've landed off the edge of the runway with the f-15 yeah that was

[00:02:19] My screw up i might have actually thought of that and it did make me feel better not joking around i'm like well okay hold on what a jerk i'm glad i could help i know i am too no but i was getting to the point where i was kind of feeling i don't want to say invincible but

[00:02:37] Like crashes don't happen yeah i don't kick a butt with the jet lately and yeah so but we'll talk about

[00:02:44] That in a little bit i want to start with things that came out yeah that was a question mark i ended that as in it wasn't a question but do you want to start with things that came out yeah yeah okay

[00:02:57] New from motion rc announced this week their new 70 millimeter version of the f-22 boo man this one really has me this i could i could totally see something like this in my future because 70

[00:03:13] Millimeter is a great size it is it's tiny but it's not that 90 millimeter pain to drag around right and

[00:03:20] Yeah even though this one excuse me will fly with the same battery as a 90 you could potentially say that it might save a little money on batteries over on 90 millimeter because you can fly it on a smaller battery too right yeah anyway free wing f-22 309 for a 70 millimeter jet with retractable gear and it looks good fabulous looking yeah and yeah so i'm upset because literally three

[00:03:52] Weeks ago it's a free wing by the way i didn't i don't think i mentioned that i thought so yeah okay but literally three weeks ago i bought the free wing 64 millimeter which is also pretty cool it's yeah i mean it's not as cool as a 70 if these both would have been out at the same time i would not have bought the smaller one and not much price difference well yeah yeah i think that was 170 yeah but i mean

[00:04:13] For 310 dollars here's what it includes it includes the 70 millimeter raptor high performance edf a 12 blade 70 millimeter edf it has a 2210 kv end runner that's that's up there that's turning some rpm and the 80 amp ese which is nice because at that size 70 amp or less is not going to cut it that's probably why they they get pretty warm but 100 amp overkill yeah and then

[00:04:45] Obviously the the free wing electric retracts servos are pre-installed i mean typical

[00:04:50] Free wing stuff for 310 dollars and it's a known good flying airframe those yeah all the free wing f-22s

[00:04:56] Fly great as ron will soon discover yeah hopefully he flies the smaller less expensive version that he

[00:05:04] Should have waited the one that's dead to me now the one that's gonna be up for auction real soon

[00:05:09] I have started making my list of things for toledo next year just saying yeah that's not on it but

[00:05:15] Anyway that's new from free wing it should be out it says pre-order now actually so hopefully

[00:05:22] It'll be i think it's shipping in october if i remember there you go so yeah and good looking airplane it is i like i like the f-22s also i mean they're no f-16s but f-16s are yeah do nothing for

[00:05:35] Me you can't beat a fifth gen fighter especially this one yeah yeah i'm not a huge well anyway we can talk about this one what do you got dave speaking of fifth wing or fifth gen fighters fighters this one's from banana hobby you don't know if it's available elsewhere but it's the x-fly sue 57 felon done and up in their electric camo the blue or whatever it is the heck is that called oh my god oh the digitized digitized yeah there you go digitized camo

[00:06:09] Looking very felonish yeah it looks it's a cool looking airplane yeah i mean looks like it's got fixed gear it's smaller it's twin 40s i'm sure that's the exact same power setup that's in the 2040 f-18 that i have yeah full flying stabs which is nice and cheating yeah yeah use a fixed stab efficient twin fixed gear three to eight minute flight time using the 4s 1800 to 2600 eight minutes how are you gonna get eight minutes i have no idea how you gotta find some thermals i guess a lot

[00:06:42] Of thermals yeah well i don't know you're gonna cruise around at idle right maybe with a bigger i

[00:06:48] Could see doing that with a bigger battery they're talking about if you're not balls out the

[00:06:52] Whole time but i mean it's an edf and wouldn't you be you're right i mean that's that's what they're

[00:06:57] For yeah you got to heat those batteries up that's good exactly if they don't come back

[00:07:04] Burning your hand you haven't pushed them hard enough i'm teasing don't do that to your batteries

[00:07:11] Why and it's made out of epo so it'll take a bounce and i'm guessing it's probably hand launchable i would think so that size yeah sure i don't have much information here but i bet it's hard to find a place to grab it looks pretty smooth on the bottom smooth and curvy on the bottom

[00:07:27] It's a good that's a good size also it's not a bad looking airplane and the fact that it's different like you don't see a lot of models of that yeah i agree what i'm saying to me it looks like a mix of kind of well it's very f22 ish from the wing leading edge forward but it has kind of a weird to me a weird f14 vibe the way the engines are part of the top of the

[00:07:54] Fuselage yeah i don't know if i see that but okay yeah i i can see what he's talking about it's not the first thing comes to mind for me okay i can see it i'm not a super fan of the suit 57 but no

[00:08:04] It i mean for a fifth gen fighter it's pretty sexy it's good to have options for models something different and i could totally see one of us owning that to fly with your your f18 it'd be kind of cool it would be and they're not expensive and how much are they 180 bucks yes i mean for what

[00:08:24] You're getting i don't think that's that's not a bad deal for a twin power system yeah that's and it's

[00:08:28] It's not big but it's it's a good size not big enough to fly but not too big to be difficult to

[00:08:35] Transport and it looks like it's available late october there you go man we have been like

[00:08:42] Hobbyists have been spoiled the last few months i've been kind of thinking that i mean with the amount of cool new stuff that's that's popping up and who knows draining our i mean we're just talking about like stuff that's that's really making the i don't want to say the headlines but like making all the mainstream social media stuff yeah we're not even talking about the new stuff from boomerang or e-flight or extreme flight or what's the other one flex i mean they got a lot of cool new stuff too yeah we don't even talk about so like well that's on you

[00:09:14] We really started doing that i should you're right i should but yeah man we really got it as hobbyists

[00:09:20] We really got it good right now a lot of options yeah i like seeing that there's been a lot of edfs in the last few weeks yeah there has i ain't mad about it they're popular i'm not either there's so much

[00:09:30] Fun when did we become edf fans see what i did there six weeks ago see what i did there from

[00:09:37] Edf with about six weeks ago yeah i mean honestly maybe two months but yeah that's about it that's

[00:09:44] And so you're you're you're right what did it for me was the that silly little 70 millimeter 70 millimeter viper you guys gave me yeah i mean the 90 did it for me yeah well stinger first that was a good one i still you flew the viper first though didn't you oh i thought you flew the viper before

[00:10:01] You flew the stinger i don't we get we've been into this actually a really really long time if you think about it well that's true a10s gws baby grand wing servo a10 that's right i forgot and

[00:10:14] That was those were well they were kind of underpowered and they're underpowered and yeah you take

[00:10:18] And overrun the motors on on 11.1 volts yeah yeah i still have mine i know you still have mine still hanging on the wall i still have a kit somebody needs to paint theirs of course it's minus a

[00:10:30] Elevator but mine's still over there i know they are fun to fly they're just you'd fly them like you would fly an a10 yeah they run out of energy pretty quickly and watch the wing flex yeah and

[00:10:42] Don't fly them upside down into trees is that what you did that's that why yours don't match it doesn't match yes your wings don't what is it your wings or your it's a wing well no it's the nose and one half of the stab okay nose that's what i thought there was something towards the front too yeah i

[00:10:58] Think it kind of looks cool they are not made out epo these are cooler foam yeah these are for sure

[00:11:04] Yeah that was one of the first cooler one of the first kits or foam kits i ever bought and haven't

[00:11:11] Finished it's only been a decade right yeah and i would say i would say that it's safe to say that those are really less arf and more kit at least the way we bought ours yeah they were just yeah because dave's done everything on mine so far because one day we came over well i guess yours will be an rtf then by the time you fly it short of paint yours is ready to go

[00:11:34] Didn't we put a radio in it i think it's got all the servos in it i have to look

[00:11:39] I'm sure all the servos were in it i thought we put the servos in it oh that may be so i don't know

[00:11:44] It's been it's been a few years so i haven't seen it it's like out of sight out of mind i guess oh i see it all the time when i go back there like man that's a cool looking airplane and then i just yeah i've thought about buying either the free wing or the e-flight one yeah but the big one no yeah the small one flies pretty good but anyway i've always wondered what the gws one

[00:12:10] Would fly like with an updated power system yeah i don't think it'd be that hard to update those what size are those fans anyway i think they're 50s yeah that's right so find a nice a pair of 50s with some brushless motor i bet that would wake it up overpower it probably snap the wing in half yeah i don't think the bamboo rod would last very long as a spar ron's oh wait we upgrade

[00:12:34] Carbon on yours i think i've got fiberglass in mine

[00:12:37] I'm pretty sure mine has carbon because i think i did carbon in the tail too yeah so you can't get those anymore i know like you can't get anything from gws anymore and their little slow sticks were probably the best flying airplane in that category yeah a lot of scratch belts are built off of that wing yeah right so but yeah edf fans that's us ooh fans yay you didn't catch it the first time i did

[00:13:07] It no i didn't anyway if you would have told me what was it two or three weeks or two or three weeks ago when we went out to the field i brought and flew nothing but edfs i mean that if you had told me that like six months ago i'd be like no way why yeah it's amazing the difference a year makes or a month makes well yeah there's that or two months they generally fly fairly straight but

[00:13:35] Listen i don't want i don't want all of our listeners to think that i've given up on nitro because this past weekend you flew nitro i took nothing but nitro to the field and flew it oh yeah well i guess i did fly the east reek i guess i did fly that you're a liar but it's balsa at

[00:13:52] Least everything i flew was balsa yeah well before let's stay in order sorry because then i get

[00:14:02] Confused so we went to the champaign county our barnstormers barnstormers over champagne yeah but it's champaign county rc flyers club i don't remember ccrcc i think is what's champaign county radio control club club i'm sure we're completely messing that up but it's a nice field that actually i don't know why that is the first time i've been to that field me too which doesn't make any sense i mean it's a little bit farther away but it's not like a long long drive no it's like our adds about

[00:14:38] 10 minutes to our trip to maybe 15 to our trip to eli yeah but but yeah nice nice very hospitable they were very accommodating and welcoming which is always nice to see it at a club that you're not

[00:14:51] A member of yeah what i mean only issue is the wind they had no control over that but at

[00:14:56] Least it was right down the runway like right down like within a couple of degrees yeah i mean it was

[00:15:01] Perfect yeah and it was a lot of wind that never happens i know it's always 90 degrees yes or 45 yeah i

[00:15:10] Mean it's even worse yeah yeah or 23 23 and a half 23 and a half you're a dork but yeah that was a significant amount of wind yeah but that didn't stop us from flying didn't stop it seemed like anybody from flying yeah it was good yeah good time took the turbo timber evolution i'm pretty sure i was able to fly it backwards because the wind and then i'm pretty sure a couple of the landings were the rollout was measured in inches and not feet yeah and some of the one of those may have been negative inches

[00:15:44] I'm not sure i think you landed going backwards once but that was actually a lot of fun it was a good time there and it was a constant wind too so it wasn't like gusty and all that stuff it was it's gotta be wendy this is the wind yeah all things considered it was yeah the best case scenario

[00:15:58] It was a wide variety of airplanes there too like from tiny little foamies like like the like what i flew flew the v900 there too but then there were jets flying as well so yeah yeah it was

[00:16:10] A pretty good like actual turbine variety yeah exactly good variety turnout yeah what was it i think we saw three jets fly one guy had the mb339 that's right yeah i forgot about that one so yeah then one guy had the what's the small the small blue one i can't remember what it was aries aries the extra small i don't know if that's a yeah yeah and then the boomerang jets were there with the one you fall in love with oh i love that thing you're adam adam was that a reference to that like

[00:16:46] Adam's apple is that why you scratched your no my neck scratch or itched so i had to i thought

[00:16:50] You were i didn't even think of that came in as appropriate time i was thinking the same thing

[00:16:53] Oh then yes that's what it was for although adam is different than atom yes that is exactly still

[00:17:00] Though close enough three jets yeah and then the i can't remember his name the club president there he had like a a wide variety of airplanes yeah he was flying well nice which was yeah which is good to see good looking airplanes you would have liked he had a spitfire there that was a big one i'd say it's probably at least 80 inches yeah yeah giant scale electric with a five blade i believe even a propeller on it i think so it was very cool of all the airplanes i've

[00:17:33] Never owned i've never owned a spitfire oh really everybody has to own a cub a p51 and a spitfire at some point yeah i've never owned a spitfire never flown one what i've never owned one either

[00:17:45] Actually i have a kit of one at home but anyway good turnout you should build it sometime yeah it was a was a good turnout and had a good time like i said they were a bunch of nice guys and very very welcoming and accommodating and nice field too i would i would fly there again i agree yeah we should

[00:18:07] Make a trip over there sometime four and a half stars four and a half stars yeah well yeah i mean the the the runway is a little short but it is paved yeah it's a nice runway it's not very wide smooth there's

[00:18:22] Not a lot of cracks or undulate well there's some undulation at the ends but it's nice so that they

[00:18:27] Have a lot of easily avoided landing space next to it on the grass oh yeah yeah so you're you're not worried about missing and running into anything there's plenty of room there yep so i'd be right

[00:18:38] At home with the f-15 i don't know you may just want to go ahead and plan your landing in the grass if you go there dave i still can't believe i did that i can't either to be honest with you yeah how wide or it doesn't matter how wide is moving on i was gonna say how wide is the runway at eli it's like

[00:18:58] 70. no it's it's 50 feet 50 50 feet wide and i only missed it by two feet that's still that's what two four percent off that's all it takes okay i i had a spectator there that was interested in the

[00:19:14] Jet we're talking about it and of course it's it's a complicated bird to land because it's very heavy it's a lot of throttle control coming in to keep it where it's going and i'm paying attention trying to make this thing as smooth as possible but you didn't have to show him how how tough it was i mean and i realized at the last moment before it touches down which is too late to do anything about that oh i'm off the center line by a lot 27 feet off the center line then but it was a great

[00:19:44] Approach up until that point yeah it was a good yeah i saw you coming in i thought you were i thought

[00:19:48] You were landing in the grass on purpose i did too so i didn't say anything i was like oh wonder why

[00:19:52] He's going in the grass maybe he wants to be able to slow down fast or something like that let's slow

[00:19:56] Down fast oh it did it did that mission accomplished poor day it's all right it survived yeah it's probably well it's been back together and been flown beat myself up about it has it been

[00:20:07] Flown since you fixed it it has not oh but it's ready it's ready to go yeah i actually i'm not

[00:20:12] Surprised dave's pretty good about fixing stuff right away seriously all i needed was a new set of

[00:20:16] Gear doors why are you looking at me like disapprovingly when you say that no i'm just saying like

[00:20:21] We tend to dave have stuff things well dave does it quick i don't know that's what i saw

[00:20:29] It cracked nose and needed new gear doors it was an hour that's not bad no not bad at all good that

[00:20:36] You can still get the doors yeah because free wing doesn't discontinue still we talked about that

[00:20:40] Earlier we did before we started recording i mean they do eventually but man stuff's around a long time before they do yeah especially if it's good yeah yeah apparently the f15 is a good seller because it's still around yeah they've updated a little bit they put the 8s performance system in

[00:20:56] It and i think it's about it you thirsty my throat's kind of scratchy so i'm trying not to yeah you better not get in my head oh gosh and then i put ice in my mouth which i shouldn't have done so

[00:21:10] Yeah i'm not sure why spit it out i can make room over here if you want to yeah no i've just it's

[00:21:17] I don't know i feel fine it's just i've got a little drainage and i think that kind of

[00:21:22] Well we're getting in fall weather i know there's a lot of

[00:21:26] Corn and bean dust floating around right now with all the harvest actually today's a bad dare day it's got some sort of warning up ah well there you go the aqi index is

[00:21:36] Either high quality index index oh that's what that stands for yeah okay quality index so they just we got an update on the tesla and they just there's an aqi thing and it gives you a number on i have no clue what it stood for but i knew it had something to do with air quality the weather but now i know okay good i don't know what's good or bad i don't know if high is good or low is good but whatever yeah it was like 58 the other day i don't know what that means either

[00:22:05] What would you say the air quality was in champagne that day that we were there for the flying the

[00:22:09] Quality was great yeah i thought it was great there was just a lot that was moving by

[00:22:14] We got to sample a lot of air yeah the quality of air was great yeah and we got a large sampling of

[00:22:20] It yeah that's fair so what else have we done well after that we on the way home stopped at eli we did and i flew once again three edf's nothing but edf's that day i finally got the f-16 what is that the 80 millimeter e-flight f-16 flown eh not that for a while haven't you yeah not the thunderbirds one the regular yes yeah yeah the gray the gray yeah yep yeah i've had that for a while i mean i'm just not an f-16 fan i like f-16s

[00:23:00] Well you should buy it as you all know but i was not not not that your flying wasn't quality i did not it did not look like it flew well i would not look at that airplane and say oh it

[00:23:12] Looks like it flies good oh really i felt like it did because i mean it's they look like they dutch

[00:23:17] Roll a lot hold on let's also remember that was the very windy day where it was 45 degrees of the runway that's true i mean flying it i didn't lie yeah flying it i didn't feel like it flew bad at all

[00:23:30] Oh okay well you didn't make it look good i didn't no wow well that was because it did a lot of like it did a lot of dutch rolling and never looked like it was ever really stable yeah around the center

[00:23:43] Line and that's what i've seen every one of them i've seen all the f-16s yeah tend to just kind of

[00:23:47] Bigger ones now like when when we've seen like i think somebody had an f-16 at the jet meet oh yeah

[00:23:55] Like fifth scale bvms yeah awesome that's a lot different scale yes but like i think when you get

[00:24:03] Into the smaller edf scale f-16s that are very small anyway i i just they don't to me they don't look

[00:24:11] Directionally stable yes it's hard to put it into words but well i so honestly i i saw nothing flying it i saw nothing wrong with flying it what i didn't like was the low flight times the short flight times yeah that one's two minutes i mean like it's you're flying full throttle and if i got used granted i think i have three or four flights on it is all yeah if i got more used to it you did get

[00:24:37] Better with each flight like it looked it looked better progressively better with each flight you

[00:24:42] Did especially in your landings but yeah i think a day with no wind a day with more time where we're not kind of trying to rush and stuff and getting more flights in on it it would be better but for the room it takes up for what it is f-16 yeah you're not i just i'm not it's one that i can say i've flown i've i've had i've owned and now i can go on and and sell it at toledo or something

[00:25:09] To be fair to be fair there's not a lot of wing it doesn't it does not have a lot of wing yeah so you have to fly it fast yeah and everything everything happens quickly with that particular airplane and i think that's maybe contributing to it looking just not ever settled it could be it's hard to describe like i know they're completely different airframes and i and i talk about this one all the time how much i love it but the 70 millimeter viper i have it is i know different airplane but it is like rock solid e-flight as3x i get it but it it just that f-16 it just never looks

[00:25:45] Really settled looks like it's always on the edge of it's not really doing something i know but i'm just as far as we're doing it anyway as far as flight performance goes it's not it just doesn't look as entertaining or as much fun to me as like a viper or well you're

[00:26:03] Comparing a yes military i prefaced it by saying that they're different with a home-built yes kit jet for somebody or that's modeled after a home-built jet kit for somebody to learn how to fly on yes that

[00:26:19] Makes sense yeah so okay i'm just trying so for those who have not seen one of these f-16s i'm just trying to paint a picture if you will okay i get it anyway i mean that's yeah i can say great subject

[00:26:35] Matter i love f-16 i mean i really do it's yeah i can see that it's cool i i wish going back to your viper comparison also the gear is scale gear on the f-16 so it's not very wide so when you land you are just not going to turn if you turn you're just going to tip over and hit the wing on the ground you definitely have to let it slow down before you try but it does have thrust reverse so you're able to easily get off of it that way that's true but like i said each successive flight

[00:27:08] It did look better with each one so well it could have been the wind the wind was starting to die down by the time you got to the third flight you were more comfortable with it and you weren't trying to fight trim yeah but as an observer i didn't i couldn't see what you were doing with the transmitter so yeah i mean it could have been that it may be a great flying airplane and time will tell and if the price is right maybe i'll buy it who knows like i said it's i i think i'm i'm done with

[00:27:34] It okay i would like to have the room for other things or like one of these moving on maybe i mean

[00:27:41] Maybe that would be the 80 millimeter or excuse me 70 millimeter that would be yeah the new which

[00:27:46] By the way has rudders nice yeah mine doesn't nice but that's okay i knew that when i bought it but still yeah but still but anyway so i flew that fully successfully it was okay and then the pre-crashed f-18 that i tried to fly at the local field here off the grass runway that felt and almost succeeded underpowered because i could not get it up until it was a little bit anyway anyway it flew that which it's still like i almost didn't fly it you could tell the

[00:28:26] The the fan was a lot of balance feels yeah imbalanced so i think i made a couple passes with

[00:28:34] That and it just yeah yeah so it's on the balancer i like f-18s also not as much as f-16s but i see the gears is problematic i think on that particular airplane on that one yeah yeah because i yeah i forgot about that there's like too much too much travel in the main well it allows it to wobble it's scale like it but exactly if you get it upset it tends to really really bounce back from side to side on the gear especially when you start landing light it actually needs a

[00:29:06] Shock absorber a dampener in it yeah because as you compress one side it kicks it back so hard then it compresses the other side right that kicks back yeah you have to be really on with your

[00:29:17] Landings i guess is which i guess i remember how the landing goes with that one i think it was it was it was okay and i think it tipped a little okay i was gonna tip too yeah i'm gonna blame that on the wind yeah that wasn't the wind's fault no i i think i flew that before the f-16 right that was the first one yes okay so no that was one i wasn't expecting because i'm used to the viper you can land and you can just turn right around at fairly high speeds wasn't even thinking yeah when i landed with that one turned just a little like not even a ton and yeah did the the wing rock and drop and

[00:29:54] Hit the ground but i mean it didn't mess anything up did it just the paint oh no that's right yeah but nothing nothing terrible yeah i think i might take the the motor and fan unit out of the other one i have and kind of use this as my junk plane just to get used to that way if anything happens to it i really don't care and then i have my blue angels i have two of them that i can use that stuff in if i need to mm-hmm yep but anyway so that was that day flew a bunch of edfs everything went well i don't remember

[00:30:27] What you what do you fly there was that just the just the turbo timber okay i had the v900 there but i i don't know why i didn't i think i was just having a good time finally with that turbo tender evolution and i don't think i i flew the v900 at champagne but then yeah i left it i think even left it in the truck when we got to eli yeah maybe but yeah good day flying in two different

[00:30:52] Locations in one day that's pretty cool and all edfs in both locations for me for you yeah yeah nice

[00:30:59] Anyway and i just buried myself in the shop good for you you were probably working on airplanes as

[00:31:05] We were flying airplanes probably yep yep so you did something on your so i did a thing goblin the goblin project has got me again so last time we talked about replacing the servo with something a little stronger better centering because we think it's washing out the trim at over half throttle positions right i got it back and we talked about putting the pro modelers in there and i really wanted to try those out but then i was having trouble selecting the servo that i needed one they had that was very

[00:31:40] Very close to the correct size didn't really sound like it was going to do what i needed to do but then they had the one that i thought would work better but it was much larger and i'd have to cut a significant size hole in the wing the wing yep and i really don't want to structurally awaken that wing because of the the speeds that it's capable of yeah and and i also started noticing that the evalon aileron elevator whatever you want to call it was really flexible out towards the tip the servo is

[00:32:11] In the first third i would say first third yeah so the first third from the root is where this stock servos are yeah and that leaves two-thirds of the wing yeah so there's there's a lot of control

[00:32:23] Surface outboard of the actual control horn that is unsupported it's just it's hinged and it is foam

[00:32:30] So it's allowed to there's a lot of flex and it's epo right and it has a carbon spar in it right but it doesn't do anything with the torsion right of the aileron or evelon and that was just really bugging me because i was i started thinking elevon elevon elevon yeah yeah anyway that was really bugging me because i really need to solve this and then the centering problem and i wasn't really keen on spending 80 dollars in servos for a 65 airplane i get that i i really want to try these servos and

[00:33:03] It's definitely going to happen in the future it's just not for this plane yep plus i can really see it destroying itself at 150 an hour plus when things go bad and taking 80 dollars worth of servos with it yeah and then so i took and tried to glue a i cut out an aluminum blank the same size as elevon and tried to glue that on there and it really didn't do much to stiffen it up it did a little bit okay not enough that i thought it would do the job then i got thinking well i don't really

[00:33:37] Want to buy those servos and i got this flexi problem yeah so there's really two problems yeah

[00:33:43] Flex in the control surface and then the servos not being strong enough to hold the position that

[00:33:50] You set them in at speed i got thinking why not just buy two more of the stock servos for total of twenty dollars and i buried those another third of the way out on the wing so now there's twin aileron servos on each elevon yeah and it makes perfect sense like i love that solution actually so i think dave being cheap may have worked out in this case i haven't flown it yet yeah but i'm thinking this might do it i think or mostly eliminate it

[00:34:21] Well it can't hurt it the tip is the only that last third can flex a little bit but it's not like two-thirds of it right exactly i would yeah i would sacrifice and the tip tapers so it's less of it

[00:34:34] Right exactly no that's a good solution and it looks as and it doesn't really in my opinion it doesn't really mess with the aesthetic of the airplane too much anyway the way you do i would

[00:34:47] Love to get another set of covers but the only way to get another set of covers is buy an entire wing for 50 bucks so that isn't happening either no doesn't gotta be able to make something like that i would think yeah i actually thought about taking one of those and just throwing it in my vacuum chamber and pulling pulling some new ones there you go that's so simple yeah but anyway yeah it looks

[00:35:08] I i think it's not going to hurt that's for sure but i think it will certainly help the flex or more so the the inability of the stock single servo setup to hold the position

[00:35:24] Loading the load by half on each of them yeah and then it eliminates majority of the flex yep so i'm thinking we're we're on track yeah i think i think it's a great solution maybe you will find a

[00:35:35] Day this weekend to make it and a lot cheaper than yeah two brand new pro modelers which i'm a huge fan of pro modeler but and i really want to try the pro modelers this is just this is a yeah that's a

[00:35:44] That is a great solution actually now instead of two pro modelers you're gonna have to buy four to replace

[00:35:49] Those no i think like that will certainly solve the torque problem yeah yeah or lack of torque servo the centering torque yeah exactly and they are digitals which is really weird they don't chirp

[00:36:03] Like the average digital so i'm not sure what's going on with that i'm just saying pro modeler zeroes absolutely quiet i because that's what drives me nuts with digitals see it didn't bother me

[00:36:14] The sound yeah that drives me nuts absolutely the tinnitus that i have it just sets it off well

[00:36:21] It shouldn't be very long that it's on by you it should be up in the air where you don't hear it

[00:36:27] Well sure but if i'm in the basement setting someone's airplane up and they're just sitting

[00:36:31] There chattering and they sound like they're bound yeah it's like where's where's the bind yeah anyway

[00:36:37] No i think that's a i think that's a great solution it looks it looks good and i it will for sure solve the the torque and if this works out i think i'll go ahead and make a set of covers and yeah yeah fly it once and then yeah and then make it pretty

[00:36:51] Noise noise so that's the extent of my modeling for the last two weeks that's more than ron's done so

[00:37:01] So sorry i'm teasing you've done a lot of flying true

[00:37:05] There was a lot of in the head engineering going on oh yeah a lot of thinking about it

[00:37:10] A lot of thinking a lot of thinking airplanes but just not a lot of well yeah i guess you did buy a

[00:37:16] Few airplanes what like in the last month no not in the last maybe one in the last month f-22 f-18 that's been that was what june or july was it okay yeah hard to keep track i know i was trying to think is there something i'm not remembering but no i don't think so whatever

[00:37:38] But then we went flying again we did went to our home field as well a local field local field this is springfield this is when i crashed but that's okay so we'll talk about it i brought i don't know what else or what all i brought you had some balsa airplanes too of course the viper came with me because that one is one that's just like goes everywhere now what else so i brought the first kit built airplane that i ever built ironically enough it has been sitting

[00:38:14] Almost complete probably for the last six years and it was started probably 10 years ago

[00:38:22] Finally flew it modeling at a glacial space hey i never said i was quick so this is the sig cavalier i bought my first balsa airplane was a sig cavalier that i nitro that i learned to fly with nitro and all that kind of stuff on liked it a lot wanted to buy a kit so i bought a kit started putting it together decided to do something a little bit different and actually put retracts in it i don't know if i regret doing that or not but it's different it was a long time ago and i would

[00:38:57] Do it differently now but it's a high wing airplane of course and the it just looks silly because the the mains are so long when it's down because they suck up into the wing still so they're far out which it's nice that they're kind of far out because they have a a wide stance but they're just long

[00:39:19] And it's just the wire gear so it's kind of spindly and yeah have you ever thought about the robart gear covers those make a huge difference they're just cosmetic yeah and they stiffen them up too

[00:39:29] So they're not so springy i was gonna say that because anything because they clamp the wire in

[00:39:34] Between them so it provides a little support and if you find them they're usually fairly inexpensive yeah

[00:39:39] Good idea but anyway so i flew that a couple times ended up moving the cg forward the second time and it flew better i mean it's uneventful it was the sig cavalier so yeah flies good i didn't know if i was actually going to be able to get it off the grass grass was a little bit longer than i would like for a maiden kind of thing on those airplanes but once it broke ground i knew

[00:40:09] Just kind of get it to break ground leave or level it out and kind of build up some airspeed because it is i don't want to say it's underpowered but it's it's not overpowered it's old school powered like a lot of the older airplanes i would say 10 or 15 years ago appropriately powered

[00:40:28] Okay that's what i would say i think we just got so used to all the instant horsepower from the electric motors exactly pulling so hard so fast and that was exactly what was running through my

[00:40:39] Head when i saw you your first takeoff because you did you let it roll roll roll and it took a while for it to build up airspeed and in my mind i was thinking yes i remember that's how we used to always have to fly them we used to always have to fly them and not just throttle up and rip them around

[00:40:59] The sky max which is a high performance i don't like it fun fly airplane i fly it and it's like man this thing feels soft spongy this thing is going to be a completely different aircraft with an electric setup in it but that's the way it was back in the day you just forget yeah yeah i mean

[00:41:17] There's there's a lot to be said for overpowering to be able to get yourself out of oh yeah i'm not

[00:41:22] I don't mean to take anything away from i'm just saying watching that takeoff and and the the one that followed just it brought back good memories that's all good see i don't know if i would call it good memories as much nostalgia maybe i'll just say instead of okay it would just brought back

[00:41:40] Nostalgia i can see that yeah but like with that takeoff it was a very long rollout yep and we only have so much of the field that's cut short right and so i didn't want to get to the point where i was going to run into the overflow like i don't know what you don't know yeah the the rough like the full-size runway for cut for full-size airplanes but not for rc models but i mean it it flew it flew fine but i almost you want to call it scale but it's not a scale airplane so it's not

[00:42:18] Flying scale but what i mean like it's not gonna hang on the prop it's not gonna do anything like that it's appropriately powered it is powered just enough to where you might have 10 more than you need it was flying full throttle almost the whole time yeah but anyway so it it flew good enough it's one i will probably just keep because first one i ever built i like the looks of it i think it looks cool it'd fly really nice with like a seito 65 on it yeah

[00:42:50] No i mean i i engineered a hatch for the top with magnets to hold it on so you can actually put the battery in and out without taking the wing off i i dislike not much more than airplanes that were obviously not made be electric so you don't have the hatch for with easy access and all that kind of stuff but i like i said i think the looks of it turned out pretty good yeah it turned out very good then the other airplane that i flew that i crashed was one that was already crashed when i got it so i don't feel terrible it's not its first go around what go ahead no what's the what's the

[00:43:28] Disapproving look well you didn't fly you didn't crash it because it had been crashed previously you had flown it successfully before you crashed it oh yes i don't yeah so you can't blame your crash on the previous crash no no i'm not i'm saying it was

[00:43:46] Crashed previously so i don't feel as bad about crashing it okay it's like a plane that's already been crashed so the airplane's experienced yeah it knows what to expect yeah but anyway so it's the the flightworks pilotist pc9 right pc6 pc6 no pc i don't know what it is the porter the porter turbo

[00:44:08] Porter what is that though i thought that was a pc9 yeah anyway anyway it's the red bull one has the red bull colors and not a pc9 and ron had to fix it before he could fly it the first time and because it came c6 you're right because it came pre-crashed and actually dave was the one that

[00:44:27] Fixed the cowl before i got it i didn't even realize that was that airplane yeah that's that

[00:44:32] Airplane yeah so anyway i flew it and this is another one that is scale powered with grass that's taller than it should be that i was being a tricycle or not a tricycle being a tail dragger i had a lot of up elevator as i was doing the run out and stuff flew it a couple times just fine one thing it was doing though every time i took off it would just veer to the left like sharply veer to the left and it would take off and then like i wasn't really doing much rudder work on the ground

[00:45:08] So when i crashed it i decided i'm going to start doing rudder work to kind of actually go down and take off more scale like the way i want to well combine the tail dragger with not the amount of power i'm used to with the elevator being held down because of

[00:45:32] The the the grass with i don't want to say inexperience but maybe just stupidity so i tried to to correct and it was doing fine then all of a sudden it just kind of started going off to the right and that were corrected yeah fine but at that time i thought okay i'm just going to throttle back turn around and come back and do it the other way as soon as i throttled back or throttle back throttled back the airplane took off and i still

[00:46:05] Had elevator back and stuff so i let go of the elevator and i tried to power out of it which at this point it's a foot and a half off the ground it's just going to torque into the ground drops a wing yeah torques into the ground and then does the little barrel roll where you hear the crashing sound of balsa which is not a good sound to hear yeah i don't like that sound and then of course i start to walk down to it and i just get this look from you of yes from me and what did you do oh i did say that you did say that and i was like it's all me it's it's not that bad

[00:46:44] If you look at the wing the wing doesn't have any kind of joiner or anything in it it's just panels glued together oh so it's a clean break one of the perfect the ribs yeah to where it's like separated to where the rib on each side is still there it just needs to be glued back on yeah and what else was the there's one support piece that's in the nose because that's a long nose it is very long one support piece in the nose that just has to be glued back on and then it ripped the

[00:47:15] Gear out but it didn't rip the blocks out it literally just took the gear out of the blocks oh so easy yeah nothing is broken badly in the evening and you'll be ready you'll be ready yeah it will be cool so we'll get her put back together it already was not pretty because of the repairs before it's a 10 footer that might be 12 or 13 now but yeah but yeah it does like i did like the way

[00:47:42] It flew i didn't it flew like i imagine a turbo porter probably flies well but the problem that i had particularly fast and i don't do anything in a hurry and and looks like it was very floaty it was my problem

[00:47:57] Though the elevator servo would not center oh that is annoying and that my goodness that's annoying and it was off by quite a bit like if i would porpoise up when i tried to go up and then if i gave it down elevator to make it come down then it would just continue to hold down like i could not

[00:48:13] Get it yeah to center you have the worst luck with sticky push rods yeah but it's funny that's

[00:48:19] The two that i've had problems with that on both by flight works huh flight work flight yeah it works yeah it is that's right i know that's why i said but yeah the shiny and then this one yeah so i mean it just could be to where i need to put a a stronger servo in i haven't looked at that one

[00:48:38] Yet because there's a servo in the tail with a direct linkage or is it a push rod let's push

[00:48:42] Rod all the way check the push rod first yeah before it's draggy i bet they use the same material as used in the shiny i bet it could be yeah but so yeah that was the the issue i was having with it too which didn't play any anything in the crash but yeah but still it made it fun out of it when you're oscillating yeah it's not as fun to fly that way right and especially landing was more difficult too because as you would try you couldn't get it to settle in the way you wanted to not that

[00:49:08] The landings were bad i don't think no it looked fine to me they just weren't as smooth as well the approach wasn't smooth the landings were good though i thought oh the actual yeah yeah the actual landing the actual touchdown the approaches were just not they were porpoisy porpoisy yeah porpoise hyphen e porpoise like porpoise like yeah i would agree with that but anyway yep what else did

[00:49:33] You take was that it no i took the umx a10 yeah you were flying that when i got there i was what else i think it was just those four right yeah just those four so got quite a few flights in i'm i'm getting there yeah are you gonna hit your goal i don't know yeah okay i'm

[00:49:57] 75 ish away i think oh i mean it's only it's not even october yet i know i mean it's definitely possible it's doable it's definitely do especially if you can do some flying here at home in the evenings or whatever which i haven't been as much as i like it's i mean even even the umx

[00:50:11] Ultrax out here would count yeah at night you're right but still so yeah i took i took nothing but balsa to the field three airplanes i took i took the gbz haven't flown that one in in a while with the sato a three-cylinder radial on it nitro flies nice not like you

[00:50:37] Would imagine a gbz should fly but i expected it to be a lot more fast and hairy does that make sense

[00:50:46] Oh yeah that's not a hairy airplane to fly no it didn't look like it very well behaved yeah kyosho did

[00:50:52] Their due diligence on the design of the wing on that one anyway took that one engine ran great

[00:51:00] Until it didn't i'll talk about that in a minute and then took the the old hanger nine stick 60 size stick always a fun time to fly that thing and jerk it around the sky and then and then yeah

[00:51:14] It took the electro streak which always flies nice flew that one like a couple times i think like they're

[00:51:20] On rails yeah it's such a good flying airplane if only we could get ron to finish is then we'd

[00:51:26] Have four well the first kit i built took eight or nine years yeah so i am way ahead of schedule

[00:51:33] And there's already like a couple of kits ahead of the e-streak right because you got a big stick 40 in there somewhere yeah at any rate yeah the the sato on the so i'm not sure what happened or why it happened but so it's a three cylinder radial has six valves six push rods six lifters six lifter boards so on so forth three camshafts it trashed two lifters on on two different cylinders and i

[00:52:05] Don't know why it may be my fault and here's why i'm kind of thinking it's my fault i had the valve covers off because i was going to run through the valves and adjust them because i don't know when the last time they had been adjusted so i had the valve covers off while i was running it and i flew it that way which was no problem when i opened up the crank case everything from the master rod forward which is the the nose of the crankshaft the gear of the splines in the

[00:52:37] Crankshaft that run the camshafts the camshafts themselves and the lifters dry as a bone like like no lubrication none whatsoever and there's it's not a it's not a clogged line issue because the current case is open yeah it's just dumping fuel in it so i don't know if having the valve covers off allowed all the oil to escape out the rockers and then you lost pressure well i mean the crank case is vented so i mean there's there's never but it would stay in there

[00:53:06] Longer the vapor would stay in there longer with the oil in the vapor still i've ran engines all

[00:53:12] The time with no rockers on and they're fine i mean that's how satos were originally designed they did not have they were open rocker at any rate so now i've got to try to find some lifters for that engine and of course discontinued they don't make them anymore so basically it's three the sato 90 r3 is three sato fa 30s so if anyone out there happens to know where i could find a set of fa 30 lifters i would very much like to hear from you i think i might be able to salvage the ones i have

[00:53:49] I've done this before with with wrist pins like wrist pins get gunky and then the steel ones especially they they get i don't know if it's if i would call it i mean it's got to be corrosion right but they they swell the steel like where line or whatever you want to call i have turned those down before and made them work so i'm wondering if i could because it's the same type of material do they get mushroomed no no no they i was able to get them out of the bores i mean i had to use force to get them out but no they're not mushroom and they did not leave any scratches

[00:54:23] In the brass or whatever that material is the cams are good the cams look fine i mean they have wear

[00:54:29] On them but they look okay no scoring or anything so i i had a cam fail or lifter failure in a asp 65 and it trashed the cam it trashed everything asp did not harden the lifter yeah oh these are

[00:54:48] Definitely hard like they're very they're hardened because i can't scratch them with the edge of edge

[00:54:53] Yeah of an exacto so i had all that metal go through the engine and it destroyed all the bearings and it took the ring out oh that's cam itself actually because the lifter was so soft showed very little damage but yeah all that metal went through the bearings in the ring and yeah

[00:55:12] That would do it at any rate so the gbz is down for a bit until i can find either i can find some replacement parts or i can turn those down and make them work again yeah speaking of long projects that

[00:55:28] One reminded me what's that engine off of tommy what's off of a gbz i don't know what you're talking

[00:55:36] Tommy well i don't know yeah and it's two other brothers what two other brothers what are

[00:55:43] You talking about two other brothers isn't that for the triplane yeah no no no stop with camel oh

[00:55:50] That's the camel motor okay yeah yeah i do have a vk stop with triplane or i'm sorry triplane not the stop with but the other one but that's still in kit form it unstarted so no i think he was

[00:56:03] Talking about the tri-motor though oh the tri-motor i thought that was one of the three for that oh

[00:56:07] No no no the tri-motor is getting three ys-120s oh it's cute how you talk about it like we're actually going to start on it well we i think we should we'll leave it at that we we still have every intention of doing that project someday i would like to start on it this winter i really would so it would be i need to get projects off of my bench and then yeah and not put anything before

[00:56:37] It yeah that's yeah yeah anyway i think that would be neat to maybe fly next year at one of the scale events that would be cool it's a lot of work yeah we just don't need to get started how do you eat an elephant right one bite at a time one thing i wanted to bring up that i forgot so we had somebody email us and ask if everything was okay because we hadn't updated any

[00:57:07] Or we hadn't released any episodes for i think they said two months or so oh my and i was like what like we have so long story short pandora somehow stopped updating our episodes those i think it was july so everything since july nothing had been updated on pandora so long story short we got it fixed but like i don't know i don't know how i would know that unless you guys tell you're not

[00:57:43] Them out there if you guys ever have any problems listeners that and of course if i say this and you're not seeing the episodes and that's whatever but if you ever notice something like we're usually pretty good knock on wood about releasing every two weeks like we try to yes we do i think we've missed

[00:58:00] It's a rare miss yeah we had the one that was a disaster and we decided not to do

[00:58:07] The one that was in his basement oh yeah when it recorded really terribly yeah it was all garbled and nasty and we just skipped that week and then you may have you guys may have missed one while i

[00:58:19] Was gone yeah but anyway less than a handful of times yes so if it ever comes out to like where you guys notice there's a couple weeks that have been missed or a couple episodes i should say so like a month or something just let me know that way i can check and see what's going on because i i don't think unless something major happens we would ever go a month without releasing and if there was

[00:58:40] Something major i'm sure you'd throw something up on the website exactly exactly right yep or facebook or whatever yeah or all of it everywhere we can yep our discord yeah yeah so so anyway that's

[00:58:53] All i got do you guys have anything else you want to talk about no i just want to get on with some

[00:58:58] Fall projects and get some flying in and get some stuff done before winter hits yeah so what kind of

[00:59:03] What kind of goals end of year like what would you like to accomplish in the hobby before the end of the year or or before the end of the flying season or whatever ron you're up that's a loaded question

[00:59:18] What would i like to do versus what actually is going to happen is not going to be the same

[00:59:22] So what within reach would you like to accomplish how about that is that okay so easy goals maybe

[00:59:30] Finish my flight goal for the year which was remind our folks 400 okay and maybe try and fly the 12-foot telemaster like i think that's reasonable honestly the only thing stopping me from doing that because it's i'm pretty sure it's ready to go transportation not even that like i don't want to wet the engine what i mean like i don't want to fuel it up and all that kind of stuff and then store it inside again okay bird birds sure well i'm i'm i'm or crickets i'm

[01:00:08] I'm processing that just trying to figure out the so what's the fear like what why why don't you want leaking when i bring it inside oh okay well that yeah sure wrap it in plastic yeah put a ziploc bag put a towel underneath wherever the nose is that's how i store my stuff at home yeah i need to fit like

[01:00:24] This winter i will one of the things i want to do is finish that other wall out in the garage to hang the bigger airplanes i have designed a cleat system and all that kind of stuff on the computer i just have not had a chance to cut it yet that way i can hang big heavier airplanes without worrying about them

[01:00:42] Getting messed up or falling those are good goals i think those are achievable yeah i mean there's no reason there's no reason you shouldn't be able to achieve those i agree if you apply

[01:00:53] Yourself you guys dave so just try to get something done what are you talking about everything you have is done i've still got that piper cub i've been working on i was hoping to have it ready to go to streeter which was last weekend which didn't go to but yeah i've got the wing covered and that's it

[01:01:13] Home life has just been kind of taking a toll on stuff trying to get stuff squared away a little bit well and there was a delay with the with the whole fish tank aquarium fiasco aquarium yeah so i've had little projects i've been working on here and there but just not moving forward on that and my flight numbers for the year are just abysmal i think i've got i haven't looked lately it's

[01:01:40] Because it's depressing it's like 60. oh that is well that's pretty low the good news is your goal was low i think 100. oh so you should be able to do that in a weekend i'd make like five and six flights of trip well i mean like an entire weekend like a friday saturday sunday yeah i think if you

[01:02:00] Especially if you do some smaller like electric stuff i think that's within reach for sure

[01:02:07] And there's a a little off topic but there's a scale flying event coming up at eli next weekend i'm going i don't know if you guys are going to make it or not

[01:02:16] We could use help with food and all that stuff yeah yeah if i'm if i'm not otherwise tasked i would be happy to happy to go help again well it's thursday if they want my help i mean i don't

[01:02:28] Know i'm just assuming it's thursday friday saturday i will not be there thursday actually it might be wednesday i don't remember it's but several days yeah i took friday also i'll be there friday and saturday this should be good yep hopefully get a few flights in and get closer to michael

[01:02:46] Yeah that sounds good cool just trying to get stuff done caught up i'm just i don't know just feeling a little overwhelmed can't get anything done so i just need to i feel you pass through make progress on something something 10 minutes a night yeah i mean i've tried that for a little while set small goals and fail to achieve them and i'm trying to stash money away because my truck's broke and it's still drivable it's still driving it's not really for now broke yet it's on its way

[01:03:19] But if you continue to drive it the fear is that it will yeah yeah yeah so there's that's a fair amount of money there that i i just don't have the time or energy anymore to fix it myself oh yeah i would

[01:03:31] Not yeah yeah that's a that's a project even maybe i would not want to tackle

[01:03:39] Yeah myself i mean oh yeah there's a lot of parts to take apart yeah timing chain and stuff yeah that's what we're talking about timing chains yes three of them i think right and i'm not sure this motor is actually fairly new to me the the old tritons i'm very familiar with with this new 3.5 ecoboost

[01:04:01] I'm not sure what makes it tick yeah it shouldn't take that's the problem lots of magic anyway yeah

[01:04:09] When it's working it works really well yeah it does i will i will give you that it pulls the trailer

[01:04:14] Like nobody's business yeah it's a pulling son of a gun yeah so so what else that's all i've got

[01:04:22] Luckily i i don't i didn't really set many goals for at the beginning of the year so because i knew i would probably not make them but like if i had to say there was i wanted to do this or that before the i would like to have a receiver for my jet before the end of the year that way i can move forward a little bit on the jet project and then i would probably order that soon honestly

[01:04:49] They're not going to be until november so yes but are they well i don't know i mean that's what they say on the website right but if they're getting another shipment in is that going to be enough to cover an order in november if it is it is if it's not it's not then it's going to be into cold weather

[01:05:06] You have to be flying anyway true you have to be prepared to pay for it that's i understand but anyway i

[01:05:11] Would like to be at that stage before the end of the year at least with the receiver and then i would really like to get started on the trimotor like in earnest yeah that would be if i had to say that i had goals that's what they would be i mean obviously i would like to fly some more but i didn't set a good flight number goal at the beginning of the year so yeah you did i did we

[01:05:35] All did oh i don't remember what my number was it's written down somewhere i will look it up probably not even close because i haven't even been keeping track i think you might have been 200. oh i'm definitely over that like i flew i mean i'm just saying i think that's what you set your goal for oh okay well if that's the case i'm i'm definitely one of the things i was going to say though yeah you set a goal of 200 flights oh laurie set a goal too oh she did of three flights oh and crystal

[01:06:08] Set a goal to finish her willy-nilly's kit by april 1st and her goal was to have four flights this year so they are going to fail but that's okay what i was going to say though is if you're wanting to set your jet up and you just want to use a 20 channel receiver i still have an extra it's not the the synapse but it's an extra 20 channel power safe receiver that you can program and do everything on your transmitter to make it work right oh i see what you're saying and then when you get yours just throw that in because programming or programming didn't change at all when i put the

[01:06:41] Synapse in on mine as opposed to the regular you mean the transmitter what did i say you just said programming didn't change at all programming in the transmitter didn't change at all because it's still channel per channel i mean i've got that 14 channel oh that would work so yeah you could do that too i could yeah get everything set up in the transmitter at least but it would be nice to have

[01:06:59] A receiver in the airplane so that i could finish all the wiring oh yeah because i like tinkering and making that look pretty i agree organized anyway that would be my goals well i hope we make them all yeah anything maybe i'll try to go back and try to log my flights because i bet i'm close if my goal was 200 i bet i'm close or over because i flew a lot like this last few months yeah i mean okay as much

[01:07:27] As he's flown i haven't yeah yeah i've flown a lot too and i've got a month without flying i have flown every month nice yes it is nice so it's kind of depressing you get this time of year

[01:07:41] And it's like yeah it's time to do this before we get all the days are getting cold air and all that stuff yeah what shorter days mean though night flying more night flying yeah without all the bugs yeah that's the worst yeah yeah we should do a night flying we should i was actually thinking about seeing what you guys were up to this weekend for that i would like that saturday i'm busy oh yeah i am too after jerk maybe maybe later we wouldn't be towards the afternoon

[01:08:12] Yeah but yeah we'll figure it out okay cool all right anything else are we done i'm done

[01:08:17] That's all i got we got to get on more stuff but yeah we're getting done

[01:08:22] So we're done does that we're done okay i wasn't sure on that one that one confused

[01:08:26] We've we've just got to get more more to talk about more building more yes projects more well i

[01:08:33] Mean tommy and i have been flying so i'm just kidding i feel worse geez anyway just kidding all right until next time i'm ron i'm tom and i'm dave good night good night
