[00:00:06] Hello, everyone. Welcome to the RC Plane Lab Podcast. I'm Ron. I'm Tom. And I'm Dave. Hey, guys. Welcome back. How was your, for us Americans, Thanksgiving?

[00:00:22] Had a good Thanksgiving. I hope everybody that's listening, all five of you, hope you all had a good Thanksgiving.

[00:00:29] For those that celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. Exactly.

[00:00:33] It's always fun to do nothing but eat. I know. Thanksgiving is, like, my favorite holiday. It really is. Like, when the kids were little, Christmas was, kind of exciting and stuff. When, kids get excited about, Santa Claus and all that. But I just love eating.

[00:00:53] I just cook.

[00:00:54] I do that, too. But, like, I love eating. So Thanksgiving and Fourth of July are my favorite holidays because it's just all about eating, really. And for Thanksgiving, so I drove to my mom's house there in Ohio, Columbus. It was a nice visit. We did the, watched the Ohio State game, watched them lose to that state up north. That's Michigan for people who are not Ohio State fans. At any rate, we ran the turkey. So, fill us in. Sorry. Is that?

[00:01:24] That's like a big rivalry, Ohio and Ohio State.

[00:01:26] Sorry. I'm even dumber than that. Oh. What sport? Oh, I'm sorry. College football. Football. Okay. College football. Okay. I don't like, so. I don't follow anything.

[00:01:34] I don't want to, like, give the wrong impression. I'm not, like, a sports guy. I'm not a huge football fan.

[00:01:39] No, I don't take you as that.

[00:01:40] But I do like watching college football and especially Ohio State.

[00:01:46] And unfortunately, yeah. Just because you're from there?

[00:01:48] Well, I'm not really from there. You're not from there. So why would you watch? I just, I don't know. Like, when I was young, we would go to U of I and we would tailgate and have fun. my dad and my mom and I and, my brother at the time, he still lived with us. So we would go to Memorial Stadium and do the, do the tailgating before the game and then we'd go watch the game. And that was always a good time.

[00:02:11] I mean, for some reason, back then, Ohio State always beat Illinois whenever they would play in Champaign. So you like them because? Yeah, because I'm not a big Illinois, University of Illinois fan, so.

[00:02:24] Okay.

[00:02:25] Yeah. Cool. Just always been an Ohio State fan and I like watching them play football.

[00:02:31] See, I just don't like watching sports. It's so boring.

[00:02:34] I gave up on a lot. Well, I like, really like baseball. I still watch baseball. Go Cubs.

[00:02:43] I grew up with baseball, so that I at least understand. Football makes no sense to me.

[00:02:47] Yeah. Yeah, I used to watch a lot of football. I mean, we'll talk about football briefly here on this podcast about RC airplanes. But yeah, when I was younger, I watched a lot of football, pro ball. I liked, Pittsburgh Steelers were my favorite team back then. But kind of in the late 90s, the players were doing some not so nice things. And, as a father, I'm thinking, my kids are watching these and these are supposed to be role models.

[00:03:15] And they were doing, you'd see their names in the headlines doing some nefarious things. And I'm like, I'm kind of done with football. I've, I've kind of lost my taste for professional football.

[00:03:29] More a little thin, did it?

[00:03:30] Yeah. So I kind of gave up on pro ball. But yeah, I still, I still like to watch college ball.

[00:03:35] Yeah. Piper did the little cheer thing a month or two or three months ago, whatever it was now. Time flies. Yeah. And so that would be like the second football game I have ever watched. And that was high school. And yeah, high school football is exciting.

[00:03:53] No, no, no, no, it's not. It's the worst part about football. We don't need to get down too much on this.

[00:04:00] But the worst part about football is when you see there's a minute left on the clock, but then you're like, oh, cool. So it's a minute and then we're out of here. And then 15 minutes later, there's still like 52 seconds on there. And you're like, what? How? Yeah. Why? Yeah. Yeah. I get it.

[00:04:15] At least with soccer, when Cody played soccer, that's what it was. They might add a minute or two at the end, but that was never like you knew when you were getting out of there. Right. Anyway, I'm not a sports fan. Yeah. Anyway, had a good visit with mom there in Ohio. And on the way home, we stopped by a small hobby shop there that's not too far away from mom.

[00:04:34] Oh, which one? Picked up some stuff. I don't remember. Oh, it would say Hobby Town USA. Oh, okay. Part of, the franchise across the state. Cool. Yeah. Nice little shop. What'd you get? I bought some epoxy. That's exciting. And I brought back a gift for Dave. I really appreciate it. What'd you get him? I got him in an empty glue bottle. It's the thought that counts. Hey, yeah, it's going to save me $12 worth of glue.

[00:05:00] And keep it. Hopefully, yeah. Hopefully it doesn't do the same thing that the, well, hopefully this one's old enough that it's from a batch that's not. Yeah.

[00:05:08] So those that don't know, I have some Bob Smith glue that's eating the bottle from the inside.

[00:05:13] Yeah. It's doing some really, really crazy. It's like twisting it and collapsing it.

[00:05:17] It's destroying it and it's getting cracks in it. And the glue itself is fine. I've been using, I've been trying to use it up. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Right. And the glue's fine. It's just, it's eating the bottle from the inside.

[00:05:27] Yeah. So Dave, if you follow us on Discord, Dave put a picture of the glue bottle on Discord and it's really crazy.

[00:05:33] I know. I actually have two of them. I got a brand new bottle. It's not even cracked and the neck is broken. Oh, jeez. How did I miss that? Like I am on our Discord. I think you put it on Discord. Yeah. Yeah. I thought you did. I'm going to scroll and see.

[00:05:45] It's back there a ways.

[00:05:46] It's really strange. I mean, I've used Bob Smith glue for decades.

[00:05:50] Me too.

[00:05:50] And I've never, ever had any problems.

[00:05:52] Yeah. The only issue I've ever had with Bob Smith, well, CA in general, is the foam safe stuff. It seemed to always go bad in the bottle before I had a chance to use it at all. That's just the chemical makeup of it. Right. Exactly. But I've never had a problem with the bottles. That's crazy.

[00:06:06] Yeah. And the glue's still be good. Right.

[00:06:08] Yeah.

[00:06:10] Weird. It is weird. It's weird. I got a lot of glue that's going to get wasted if I don't get this remedied.

[00:06:16] Yeah. Well, I bought the only bottle they had. And I really appreciate that. Hopefully, yeah. Hopefully it doesn't do the same thing as the current.

[00:06:24] And both bottles are thin. My thick is, or medium is fine. So it's something to do with the thin.

[00:06:29] Do you, do you store yours in the fridge like I do? No. Hmm. I mean, I don't think that makes any difference. I think it, I think it makes them last longer. You can store them in the fridge. Yeah. And it definitely does. And I think it prolongs the life of the glue, but I don't think it matters for the bottle.

[00:06:42] My brand new bottle should probably be in the fridge, but somebody will throw a fit. So.

[00:06:46] Nah.

[00:06:46] Yeah. anyway, it, I've never had any problems with it.

[00:06:52] Hmm. Odd. What about you guys? What'd you do for Thanksgiving, Ron?

[00:06:56] So we delayed a day and did it on Friday because Cody had his girlfriend's stuff to go to. And we figured, like maybe I'm weird, but I don't necessarily care about the day. I would rather do it when more people can get together and not be rushed. So. Yep. It was the same with like my sister and her husband came over. we did it Friday instead of Thursday and everything worked out great.

[00:07:24] I think that makes a lot of sense. Yeah. I, I totally get that. Cause we used to do this

[00:07:29] Sort of same thing for Christmas. Yeah. We would have it like the day after or whatever, just so everybody could get together. I'm glad the lid was on. Yeah. Well, it didn't,

[00:07:37] It didn't go all the way over, did it? Enough. If the lid wasn't on. Oh, well, you're welcome.

[00:07:41] See, thank you. Appreciate that. Safety first. I'm going to move my drink from away from you. Put it by the board that way, just in case. Oh, that's even better. Yeah. That's great. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:07:50] No, but like I said, we ended up just doing low key on Thanksgiving day and got some stuff done around the house and it was kind of nice having a day to prepare as opposed to, usually it's, you're working all day, Wednesday, Thursday's when you got to get everything together. Yep. It was just nice. Yeah. It was more relaxing. Give yourself

[00:08:10] A little more time. So you're going to actually enjoy it. Yeah. Yeah. I on their hand, I was up at 5 a.m. cooking. Oh, yeah. Well, that's, I mean, that's, that's part of the fun. Like we were up early, doing the cooking thing to putting the bird in the, in the oven and all that. But, I couldn't find a packet of gunk. Oh no.

[00:08:27] This year it was hidden. There was an extra flap somehow or another inside this turkey and it got hidden up inside that. I was fishing. I was up to my elbow in this turkey digging around trying to, there is no way I'm putting this thing in the oven with the known pack.

[00:08:40] Yeah. Yeah. Well, you found it, I'm assuming. You didn't find it like when you were carving

[00:08:44] The turkey to serve it. No, it wouldn't. Never gone in the oven. Well, I had told Crystal that I wanted to smoke a turkey. Yes. so she decided that she was going to do another one because she wanted to make gravy and you don't get that when you smoke it, which is, and I told her, I said, then I'm not going to smoke it. It's no big deal. Okay. Which worked out fine because it was cold out and, I don't want to go outside and do all that.

[00:09:08] But anyway, so this is how, this is how she thinks. God love her. God love her. so she thought I was going to need two turkeys for that day. For some reason, when we only used one, she bought four. She bought four turkeys? Yes. I think her plan might be to use one for Christmas.

[00:09:30] So I think I know what we're having on Friendsmas, Dave. I have a feeling we know. I think so.

[00:09:34] I hope it's deep fried turkey. Oh, we haven't done that for a while. Oh, I love deep fried turkey. That is good. But I don't like spending 40 bucks on oil to cook one. So oil has gone up. Yeah. What if I buy the oil? we have a fryer. Dave has a fryer. I got the fryer. It's up to you guys. I got to check on my gas.

[00:09:52] I have gas. Yeah, you do. Yeah. We heard that earlier. I couldn't help myself.

[00:09:57] Wow. I didn't even think of that one. No, but we have, we have plenty of propane. Okay. So we're good on that. Yeah. Well, nothing like making plans while we're just talking here. Well, yeah, we can talk about it later. Sorry. Sorry, guys.

[00:10:09] So turkeys have wings. So we're talking about something with wings. Well, that's true. Oh, yeah. Turkeys, they don't fly. Well, a little bit, maybe. If you're familiar with that. Ask Les Nesman. The old, yeah. What? The WKRP in Cincinnati episode. Oh. It's, Ron's too.

[00:10:23] So that's way past my time. It's before your time. Past my age limit of higher time.

[00:10:31] I swear to God, turkeys could fly. I swear to God, I thought turkeys could fly.

[00:10:36] Okay. So the episode. So I'm assuming this is something funny.

[00:10:39] Yeah. They would have seen it as a part of a, so it was a, it was a TV show in the seventies and eighties. what was it called? WKRP and since, or I think it was just WKRP, wasn't it? Welcome to WKRP and Cincinnati. Something like that.

[00:10:52] It was a show about a radio station in Cincinnati and the, the DJs and the owners and, sounds familiar. Yeah. anyway, one of the episodes for a turkey, like promote, or a Thanksgiving promotion, Les Nesman, who was the news guy, kind of a nerdy, balding, older guy at the time, arranged this stunt. They were going to drop turkeys from a helicopter in, in one of the stadiums there and have the turkeys fly down and people, I think,

[00:11:22] Grab them and then you get a free turkey. Well, they dropped all these live turkeys from the helicopter and of course they can't fly. It was kind of like a take on the Hindenburg disaster. Yeah. Oh, and it was, yeah, exactly. This is pretty, I mean, like I haven't seen that episode in many, many years. My wife has a shirt. Oh, does she? Yes. Perfect. Anyway, that's the reference.

[00:11:43] Sorry. But I always think about that. As God is my witness, I swear. I swear I thought turkeys could

[00:11:49] Fly or however the quote goes, but it's funny. You should watch it. I don't think so. Okay. I'm just

[00:11:56] Going to say one thing. Bailey quarters. Oh yeah. So anyway, she, she was the, was she weather? I don't remember. I just think she was staff. Just like an office worker. Yeah. Okay. Very nice looking. So airplane staff person. Yeah. So Dave was up at five cooking and then what?

[00:12:21] Eight. Eight. And then you ate and I ate and I started messing with my tree and six hours later on Saturday, Friday, the tree was not together. Yeah. I ended up taking it apart twice. What tree?

[00:12:34] Like Christmas tree? Christmas tree. Oh, well that's what I thought. Which leads me,

[00:12:39] Like I know this is our next non-RC related subject. I'm sorry. So here's the problem though. We'll get back to you. We haven't seen each other for like two and a half weeks. So this is kind of our catch up time too. So sorry, everybody. Yeah. Welcome to our lives. Yes. Our, our, yeah. Yeah. So are you like,

[00:12:56] Okay. When the kids were young, we were a put the tree up Thanksgiving day family. Okay. As the kids have gotten older and we have no kids in the house now, we didn't put the tree up until, well, Lori put the tree up Monday of this week, which is two weeks post, well, two plus weeks post Thanksgiving. Yeah. So it's, I'm, I'm wondering if that's just an us thing getting older. Does everybody kind of go through that? Like if you were, if you're a Christmas tree on Thanksgiving

[00:13:27] Day kind of person and you've had kids and they've moved out, have you, are you still that way or, or are you like never been that way? what I mean? What are you, are you a Christmas tree

[00:13:38] Day kind of? No, we're usually a couple of weeks after Thanksgiving. Oh, okay.

[00:13:42] So when I was growing up, it never went up before December 1st. Yeah. Whatever that first weekend was after December 1st is when it went up. Ah, okay. Yeah. I think it usually had

[00:13:51] Something to do with Advent and Lent and, or whatever all that was. Oh yeah. Not Lent. Catholic, right? Yeah. Catholic folks. Yeah. Okay. So for whatever, all that stuff, I don't even remember anymore, but I think that's when we aimed to have it up. Yeah. It was, you're right though. I don't think

[00:14:06] It was ever in November. Yeah. And the reason, I'm sorry. And then for me, the tree goes up after, when I started working for the hobby shop, because in retail, you have no time to take advantage. So the Thanksgiving afternoon or the day after tree had to be up. Otherwise there was just no getting

[00:14:23] It up. Yeah. Well, heck, some, some retail businesses now have the trees up even before

[00:14:27] Thanksgiving. They have them up before Halloween. Well, right. But this is personal. Yeah. Just no personal time to do it. You're so exhausted when you get home. Yeah. No. Yeah. I think it's a,

[00:14:38] Like, so I think our pattern of putting the tree up, when the kids were a little, was a holdover from when I was a little, cause that's how, like when I was a kid, it was tree up on Thanksgiving day, Catholic or a Catholic light. We were Lutheran. So, so the Advent thing was not like really all that. Yeah. I mean, it was kind of a guide. It's

[00:14:57] Really more a guideline, really. It's like a stop sign or a suggestion. Yeah, exactly.

[00:15:01] With the white, white, white borders are optional. but anyway, I was just curious to, cause like, everybody, I, I hate to rush the holidays cause it's like, like you said, Ron, stores are putting Christmas stuff out like in October or even before. Yeah. Like I want to say Lowe's here in town had Christmas stuff out in September. Oh boy. I mean, come on. Yeah.

[00:15:26] I know. I'm sorry. Not to derail our future airplane conversation

[00:15:34] That we'll eventually get to. And honestly, like for us with Christmas tree. So I had a pretty big work project thing I had to do that is now done, but that took, I'd say probably for the last two to three weeks, most, if not all of my spare time. Yeah. So with that now being completed, like that's how we got the tree up. Aha. So it probably would have been up earlier than that. Had you not had that project. Had we not had that? Because I think Piper has been asking for a while, but yeah. Well, I'm just young and just excited. Oh yeah. And we don't do anything

[00:16:06] Upstairs because cats. So that's why the tree is down here. Cats are jerks. Cats can be

[00:16:15] Big jerks. Especially when it comes to Christmas trees. Yeah. Yeah. And I don't want to get them

[00:16:21] Messed up, so. Yeah. Yeah. That's my first Christmas with the new dog I was a little worried about.

[00:16:26] Because she likes toys. Yeah. And those glass balls. Oh yeah. Yeah. Yeah. This is our first Christmas with the new cat. So we'll see how well she behaves with stuff.

[00:16:39] She seems like she'll, I think so. Okay. So anyway, over the holiday weekend, I had four

[00:16:45] Days I thought planned to maybe get some airplane stuff done. And? No. Nothing. I reveal a toilet. Does that count? Can you fly it? I mean, yeah, that's, I mean, now the tank bolts. The Air Force

[00:16:57] A long time ago did drop a toilet from an airplane and like as a bomb. Yeah, strapped it to an A1.

[00:17:03] Yeah. Well, that sounds kind of shh. Nice. I see what you did there. I didn't want to say it,

[00:17:08] But yeah. So yeah. But yeah, I don't know if you could say you would really fly a toilet. I got an

[00:17:14] Aileron covered in four days. That's great progress, I'm sure. That's more than I did. That's a little bit not bad. Yeah. Excuse. You were driving. Oh, you mean for Thanksgiving? Yeah. Yeah. Well,

[00:17:25] But I mean, that was only a few days. I mean, I was been home. But now, hold on though. Drill weekend was last weekend. So I got absolutely nothing done because I never get anything done on drill weekends because it just saps. Yeah, I know. You're like, I can't do anything. I have drill. Saps all of my energy. So I've had like- I would be the same way. A lot of time to do stuff. I have plans though.

[00:17:49] Does that count? I moved all the airplanes in the basement. You did. It looks fantastic down here, by the way. Well, I moved them about 10 feet and stacked them differently is what I meant just because we had to get to them. There is a pile of aircraft. But there is a-

[00:18:01] Literally stacked to the ceiling. Yeah. I mean, the pile is very well, what's the word? Compact. It's a nice compact pile of unfinished- Very Tetris-like airplanes. Okay. So for most,

[00:18:15] Obviously, people don't know my basement. So down here, I have a closet doors that are, what, eight foot wide or something. Behind that is where we store Christmas trees and all that kind of stuff and all our seasonal decorations. Right. So we don't need that very often except for seasonal times. So I was fine stacking everything in front of those closet doors. Well, now we needed it. So I had to move everything and I moved it onto our treadmill. Slash clothes hanger. Slash. No,

[00:18:47] There's no clothes on there. Oh. Airplane hanger. Airplane hanger now. Set it on that so that we can get into the closet. Crystal had the nerve to come down and say, oh, you put it on the treadmill?

[00:18:59] I guess we can't use that anymore. Based on the layer of dust on it. I know. So if you turn the treadmill on, it looks like a zebra with the dust side and non-dust side. And so I could not keep a straight face. I was like, honey, it's been open for like a year and we haven't been on it. So why now? She's like, well, Piper's used it. I said, Piper's played on it. She's not used it. So yeah,

[00:19:25] I'll have to get that undone. Well, the thing is, like eventually when you finish all of those

[00:19:30] Projects, they won't be there. Well, so here's the thing. And this is what I told her. Like I have, so these all have to go into the garage and these are big airplanes. So they have to have

[00:19:46] A special rack built for them, which I have designed, but I haven't cut yet. I have to cut it on the CNC machine. It's been cold now and I don't want to go out and cut stuff. I really don't want to run the heat out there because that gets expensive. Sure. So it's going to wait until spring and there's no reason to worry about it. But like I said, I do have the- Until Crystal wants to use the treadmill. She won't. Well, you don't know that. Well, she'll want to because it can't be used.

[00:20:15] She's allowed to change her mind. Oh, yes. So, but you should probably find another home for that

[00:20:22] Stuff. Well, I can put it back in front of the closet now because we don't need- No, that'll be up till like, I don't know, March or April. What are you talking about? When you have to dust a tree, you have a problem. I don't dust our tree. I have to, but I don't. No, it's not that bad.

[00:20:40] So the one or two listeners that are still listening, they probably expect us to talk about airplane stuff, which I have to apologize. The only thing, and I'm just going to go ahead and talk about it now because I don't know when we'll actually get to it. I finally, finally ordered the engine for my Boomerang Ranger. Yay. Yeah. I mean, actually ordered it. I'm not telling you that I ordered it and I haven't actually ordered it. He's got receipts he can

[00:21:08] Show you. I love how you mouth that. But I actually ordered and paid for it. Who did you

[00:21:15] Order it through? So I ordered the engine through Pacific RC Jets. Okay. For no other reason then they happened to answer the phone when I called them. Oh, okay. Because I wanted to call first because that's a, that's a lot of money. Like I don't want to just hop on a website, spend two grand and cross my fingers and hope that they got my order and that it, the payment went through and I'm weird like that. You are weird like that. So I called first. I'm like, Hey, send them a check or are you going to have a sent COD or something? I paid with my credit card

[00:21:46] Or debit card actually, because I don't have a credit card. Call me weird. I know. I don't have one either. Yeah. Thank you. but at any rate, I called first and, talked to a very nice guy named Dirk, who apparently is like a knowledgeable King tech guy. I spent about 10 minutes actually, which is a long time for me on the phone. Cause I don't like talking on the phone.

[00:22:10] But he was very, very helpful. Actually. I, I asked him, which I said of the two, King tech, the, the one Oh two, the G four and the G five. And before I even could get the question out of my mouth, he said, Oh, G four, like all the way. He said, the G fives are so new that they still have, some teething, issues. And he said, and he made a really good point.

[00:22:34] Like he said, and why do you buy a jet? And I got to think about, I was like, well, they make cool noises and they, they, they, they look cool and they sound, they sound. And that's exactly what he said. He's like, are you buying a jet based on how fast the engine starts?

[00:22:50] I'm like, you want to hear the spool up and you want to hear all that, right? This is your first jet. You want to hear all that. And he's like, or I'm like, well, yeah, yeah, it makes total sense.

[00:22:58] Cause that's what the selling point of the G five is. They super, super fast as long as they're tuned properly. Right. And I don't, for my first jet anyway, and, and this is saying something because I like to tinker, right? I like to tune play. There's a difference though. There's a huge difference. I don't want my very first turbine experience to be something I have to go up in

[00:23:20] Flames. Yeah. Cause that's what they do if, if you get it wrong. Yeah. So, no, anyway,

[00:23:29] I ordered the G four and I'm, I'm excited. I can't wait till it comes in. That's good. I think

[00:23:34] I saw a, post on King techs, Facebook feed, if I remember right about changing some parameters for the startup. Yeah. And that is taking care of, oops, that is taking care of the

[00:23:47] Issues. Yeah. But you, you have to, if you don't know what you're doing, which that would be me cause you, you need to get guidance from either, somebody like Dirk or Barry. I, I don't

[00:23:58] Know his last name, but also a very knowledgeable or who, or I don't know how to say it, but yeah,

[00:24:02] That might be it. yeah, you would have to take direction from them on what to do. And they, they obviously they can get you through it, but I, I didn't want my first jet turbine experience to be that I wanted to get something out of the box, maybe put it on a test stand so I could play with it before I put it in the jet, and have it do what it's supposed to do without me having to intervene or tinker with settings or anything. Yeah. So, anyway,

[00:24:30] That was the nice thing about the one I got is it was literally like easy setup out of the box. You did it. You read everything. Cause I really didn't want to go that far into it.

[00:24:40] Yeah. I read the manual. We did, we did step-by-step what the manual says to do and it worked

[00:24:46] Right out well with the exception of the fuel clunk issue, but that wasn't a fault of the engine. So no, I had nothing to do with the engine. Yeah. So once we got that going, very first start was like a non-event. Yeah. So anyway, hopefully yours will be the same. Yeah. Yeah. So I,

[00:25:02] Yeah, I ordered the, ordered the engine and my UIT. I combined that because they had a free shipping thing going on. So I ordered everything that I could afford at the time. So I'd get the free

[00:25:13] Shipping. what I mean? So you got the 102, you said? Nice. Yeah. Yes. What's fuel consumption? Do? That's, I wouldn't think it'd be a lot higher. I don't know. I like, I,

[00:25:25] I haven't looked, but so it really matter. Well, no, but like the tank in the Ranger is huge. Like as far as sport jets that size go, it's one of the biggest tanks that comes in any of jet that size that takes that size. I think it's, I want to say 96 ounces. It's huge. So yes, it's going to burn a lot of fuel, but it carries a lot of fuel. So I'll still get 10, 12 minutes of flight time with moderate throttle use. I want to say that's almost a gallon. 128 is a gallon. So yeah, it's not far away. It's a

[00:25:58] Big tank, man. I'm telling you, the tank is like, I'm holding out my hands or listeners can't see this, but it's, it's a big, physically big tank. So how, how much do you say? I want to say it's

[00:26:08] Like 96 or 92 or something like that. Okay. So the, and this is a 86, obviously, or 85 in mine. but it's, I think they said two liters is what I read, which is 67, 68 ish ounces. So it's,

[00:26:26] Yeah. So yeah, it's going to burn a lot of fuel, but it's diesel. Diesel's not terribly

[00:26:30] Expensive. No, no, it's not. But the oil, but the oil, yeah. But I mean, and like I said, don't buy, I have a extra gallon. Yeah. I'll buy it from you or I'll cause it's maybe next spring.

[00:26:42] We'll, we'll go in on a, on a case or something, depending on how much we fly. I don't need any right now. Well, but we will like, you've got, or do you have three gallons? I have three. Well, two and a half or whatever. Okay. Yeah. Cause I burned about 10, about 10 gallons of fuel through the jet. And I still have enough in the original bottle that I started with to make another 10 gallons of fuel. Oh, okay. So I, with what I have now can make 50 gallons

[00:27:14] Of fuel, which I don't need that much sitting on hand. Okay. Yeah. So that's, yeah, you don't

[00:27:18] Want to, yeah. Okay. So yeah, we'll be good. Yeah. I'm not worried. Yeah, I'm really excited.

[00:27:22] I don't think we'll go through all that next year. Yeah, but I hope we do. Yeah. I mean,

[00:27:26] We'll see. I will tell. I can't, yeah, I can't wait. I'm super excited.

[00:27:31] It's going to be a good year. Yeah. Like, yeah. So all I got, all I got left to, to buy

[00:27:39] For the Ranger is, and then not specifically for the Ranger, but for jets, I guess in general is I need to get a jug, a fuel jug. Like, and I want one like you have, cause I really like that set up. Jersey modeler one. Yeah. Yeah. They're pricey, but yeah, but I mean,

[00:27:54] I like it. I like how they work. What I like about it more than some of the other ones I've seen is the fact, and I'm probably weird on this, but that it takes a separate battery. Like some of the other ones I've seen have built-in batteries, which you think, oh, that's cool. But they're not the fast charge batteries. Oh, I see. Like it's not like a LiPo. It's the old style NIMH battery packs and that kind of stuff. I like the fact that I can just, 3S2200 is what I use.

[00:28:21] You've got those laying around. There's a ton of them. I can charge it in five minutes if it's dead and you're set for three days of running a pump. Yeah. Which that's, that's one of the few

[00:28:33] Things that I like about it is, and the, and the dual speed thing is kind of cool. Yeah.

[00:28:36] And it's a quick pump too. Yeah. But they are, they are pricey, but like I said, eventually I got to get one of those and then one more battery. Now that I've selected the engine, cause the G5, you could go LiPo or Life. Yeah. The G4 is their Life only. Life only. Yeah. So I'll buy one more and then I'll have four matching batteries in the jet. They'll all be the same. Well, the Life will be

[00:29:01] Different. Cause you're in Lipos on the rest of it, right? I thought they were Lifes. It's the Spectrum G1s, the receiver batteries. Yeah. Are they Lipos? They're Lipos. Oh, okay. Well then I guess, yeah. I'll have, you'll have three of them. Three identical plus an oddball. Plus they're different sizes. Like I don't remember what size you bought, but like the, Oh, that's right.

[00:29:21] The receiver packs are smaller. That's right. Yep. You're right. So three similar plus whatever the one oddball. Yep. So that's it. That's all that's left. And then she's ready to go.

[00:29:32] I'm excited. So spring will definitely have. Oh yeah. There's no reason that like I could cobble

[00:29:39] A jug together if I needed to. And I could run, you could just use my fuel if you needed to. And

[00:29:44] I could, I've got like other life batteries I could throw in it to, to run the

[00:29:48] Motor. So, I mean, once the engine comes in and I get that thing installed and the funny thing is it'll take like 10 minutes to install it cause I have everything ready.

[00:29:57] Well, and it's so like, honestly, of all the engines I've ever done, electric, gas, glow, I've done those too. Turbines are the easiest thing to put on. Yeah. That's, it's bizarre, but it's true. I mean, it's, the plumbing and stuff takes

[00:30:11] Longer, but not much. But even that, they're quick connect fittings for the plumbing. Yeah. And it's four screws. Yeah. To, to physically bolt that much power to your airframe. Are

[00:30:22] You buying more of the, the fuel tubing, the clear stuff? Yeah, I already have it. Oh.

[00:30:27] Yeah. I had to order some when we were working on Reggie's jet. Do you have extra, extra? Yeah. How much do you need? Like a foot? Yeah. I think I can cover that.

[00:30:36] Wait till you're done. And if you have it that way, if you don't, I'll order more, but I need to change. One thing that I didn't realize when I was setting mine up that I heard, of course, afterwards is you run the fuel filter. Yeah. The orientation of the filter. Yeah.

[00:30:50] Up, right. Vertical as opposed to horizontal. That way, if any air gets in there, it doesn't get stuck in the higher part on the filter. Yeah. That's, that's what this means. Stuck in the higher part. That's the motion I was doing. I really need to start switching this to video. Yeah. So we, you want to go up and down. Not sideways. Okay. Got it. You want the arrow to go point up, not. Arrow up.

[00:31:11] Yeah. Right. Not sideways. Got it. There's hands waving all over the place. High five.

[00:31:17] But so yeah, like I said, I don't quite have enough tubing in order to get mine adjusted. So I just need a little bit more. And it might not even be a foot to be honest with you. I need to measure, but a foot would more than six millimeter or four millimeter. I think it's

[00:31:31] Four. Cause I have each, I bought some of each and I could, I could easily buy it, but don't buy it if I have it. Yeah. So anyway, yeah, I, I'm excited. I can't wait. Hopefully, there is a, a lead time, cause apparently, the guy at, Pacific RC just told me that, so King tech does runs of engines. So they'll do like say 86s for they'll do, they'll produce 50 of those. And then they'll set up the line to run 50 102s. And

[00:32:04] Then they'll set up the line to run 50 102 G fives or whatever. Yeah. So depending on where they're at in their setup and their line, he said the wait could be, two to four weeks and I said, I'm not in a hurry. It's winter. Who cares? Exactly. Honestly, by February. Yeah. It'll take me 10 minutes to install the thing. Yeah. so, but I really do. I think, I think I want to put it on a test hand so I can play with it before I put it in the airplane

[00:32:32] Just because they're cool. I know. And if you don't have your battery and stuff by then, I got the one for mine. It's the same. Okay. Yeah. Well, I mean, I've got other life batteries I can use in the meantime, but yeah, thank you. Yeah. It wouldn't probably hurt to get

[00:32:48] A cycle on it. Exactly. See? Yeah. I mean, you got to make sure it works. That's right. Perfect. And listen to it. Done. Yeah. Maybe I'll, maybe I'll take a video or something. We'll put it on the discord or on the website or something. Anyway, that is literally all I've done. Your first turbine. RC related. I am. I'm like, I don't know if you can tell, but

[00:33:07] I'm really excited. Dave's rolling his eyes, but no. It's a turbine talk. Wait till he flies one. Well, he's flown one before. I'm just tired. But never one of ours. Yeah. I've flown one. He'll fly mine. Yeah. I might fly yours. I hope you do. I doubt it. We'll see. Let me

[00:33:27] Fly yours. I should let you fly. I mean, I'm going to let you fly mine if you want. I know. I'm hoping it flies like yours. Honestly. I don't think it's going to quite fly like mine. You're probably right. It's going to be sportier. Yeah. I just hope it's going to be, I'm going to say it's going to be faster. Yeah. But I just hope it says forgiving. Is that the word I'm looking for? I just hope it doesn't. I don't think it's going to be

[00:33:52] Quite as forgiving. I just hope it doesn't have any nasty habits that I can't anticipate. what I'm saying? Yeah. I bet it won't have that. But I don't think it's going to slow down as well. I mean, because mine is made to be a trainer. That's true. Airplane. Well, the Ranger. It's basically a jet powered cub.

[00:34:09] Mine? Yeah. Absolutely. I mean, kind of. But I mean, the Ranger was, that's how it was marketed. Yeah. Great first jet.? Yeah. Until the, until the Hangar 9 one came

[00:34:18] Along. Because the Ranger's a little design. I would have thought like the, the Elon would have been more of the first jet. Oh, maybe I'm thinking, yeah, I think you're right. That's the one with the tail boomers. I'm thinking the first sport jet. I think

[00:34:31] That's what. That could be. How they marketed it. Either way. I'm excited. That's going

[00:34:36] To fly great. I think so. We've seen them fly. Yeah. So. Yeah, they do fly nice. Not

[00:34:40] Too worried about that. And then, and then once I got this one all together, then it's time to start saving up for number two. Your time is ticking on that one. I know. August. I am until August. You're here before it. To make the purchase. I know. I have a plan. Good. Yeah. Got to make some money at Toledo. So, if you're going to Toledo and you happen to see us there, buy my stuff. I think, so I did get a third

[00:35:04] Table, by the way. I don't know if I told you guys that or not. Because I think we're going to need it. Because I've got a bunch of stuff to take. Because I don't want to sound like I'm a broken record, but I need to get rid of some stuff. I mean, there's, there's too much around here. It's true. You do. Thank you. I think.

[00:35:23] Who else is a good? You just have a Tetris style pile in the basement. You're

[00:35:28] Not a good enabler. That is a great analogy, Dave. It's like Tetris over there with all

[00:35:33] These unfinished airplane projects. That's not true. Those aren't all unfinished. Like, literally, there's four airplanes there. I guess the F-18 is technically not, not a project. That's not in that, not in that pile. Yes, it is. No, it's not. That one? That's on the elliptical. Yeah. So, there's, there's four planes, right? Yeah. There's four planes that are sitting on the treadmill, of which two are projects and two really are ready to fly. The Telemaster's

[00:36:08] Ready to fly. You could put, you could put gas in it right now, charge the batteries

[00:36:12] And go fly it. Yeah, actually I could. Okay. All right then. And that's the only reason I haven't flown it yet is because I knew I had to store it inside and I didn't want to put gas in it. Fair. I mean, so as bad as an excuse as that is, but yeah, it's

[00:36:26] Ready. Okay. And the other one that is flyable? The Viper. I thought that one was

[00:36:31] Wrecked. No, that's back together. Like it's ready to fly. That's just the one I'm working on putting the. Oh, that's right. You don't fly it because it's not pretty.

[00:36:40] Yeah. Yeah. Gotcha. It's, it's been beaten. Okay. So, two of the five over there. Four. I'm counting the F-18 because it's, well, no, what's this glider thing? That's not ready to fly. Yeah, it is. You have a receiver and everything in it and it's ready

[00:36:54] To go. Okay. That's the. So, three of five. I forgot about that one sitting there. Okay. So, there's six over there. Actually, six. Yeah. Three of six. There's a big glider. Actually, four of six are ready to fly. So, you got two projects. See, that's not too bad. But the two projects are big projects. Big projects. Which, by the way, maybe I'll, once I finish

[00:37:13] Getting the jet together, maybe I'll finish the nose for your glider. Yeah. I want to get

[00:37:17] The glider done this summer, or this summer, this winter. That might have been a Freudian slip. It might be this summer. Who knows? Well, I hope it's not this summer, but it might

[00:37:25] Be. Who knows? I mean, you may not get the nose back until summer. Well, that's true. I don't have to worry about it then. But if you want it back, I'll be happy to give it back to you so that you can finish it if you want to. If it gets to that point. We'll see if I get there. Hopefully, it won't get to that. Hopefully, I'll finish it. We'll

[00:37:40] See. Did I tell you the plan? I've got a grand plan for it. I mean, we're just really rambling at this point. We are. Yeah. I don't know if I remember your grand plan. Yeah. I was going

[00:37:49] To, so, make the nose removable. So, I would have, it would have like dowels to alignment and then it would be held on with magnets. I don't know if I heard that. So, that you need to do. Yeah. Like, you undo the prop adapter. Yeah. That just pulls off and pushes off. And then where I cut it, the nose back to the damage or pass before the damage. The hole. Yeah. That's a nice bulkhead there and I was going to fabricate the new nose to just kind of made up to that so you could pull it off if you need to. I don't

[00:38:21] Think I knew that. I thought I told you that. Anyway. I might have forgotten because that's

[00:38:25] What I do. Yeah. Magnets. So, tool-less. I've got magnets if you need them. I bought

[00:38:29] Some. Oh. Well, you don't buy them. I have some. Well, I needed some anyway. Well, you

[00:38:32] Could use mine for mine. Well, I can use mine now because I have some. What did you

[00:38:36] Get? Neo. Neo. Neo. Yeah. Yeah. But how big? Like the ones I got. Like an assortment.

[00:38:43] There's like. Small. Small. Probably half inch. Oh, mine are a lot smaller than that. And

[00:38:46] Then I got quarter inch ones too. I think mine are smaller than quarter. Oh. Well, these need to be a little bigger because this is a big airplane. Yeah. But those are strong mags. Two in each. One on each side probably would be enough. Oh, just one?

[00:38:59] One on each side. I was thinking one on top on each side and one on the bottom on each side. So, four? Yeah. I would not want to use four of the magnets I have. Well, that's what I was saying. Like the ones I have. I think that would be okay. Okay. Well, we'll

[00:39:10] Figure it out. Well, so. I'm so glad I showed up tonight. Well, it's not my fault you haven't

[00:39:14] Done anything. That's true. Have I not done anything? Yeah. So, Dave hasn't done anything. I

[00:39:22] Haven't done anything. What'd you do, Ron? Well, like I said, I've been busy with work project, but we talked, gosh, what was it? A couple episodes ago, I think, about 1S batteries and dischargers and all that kind of stuff. I vaguely remember that conversation. -huh. Me too. I think it was after I went up to Terry's. Yeah. Because you had to, oh,

[00:39:46] Yeah, we were talking about that phone little airplane that you bought and it takes the 1S and you had a bunch of 1Ss that were not good. So, you bought a bunch of 1Ss. Now you need to figure out a way to keep them maintained because you had to throw a bunch of them

[00:39:57] Away. Yeah. Well, I didn't have a discharger. So, I got an email from Fred. Luckily, like, I never even thought of this. So, he sent me an email and I'll read it because I have it right here. He says, hello. Hello. After listening to your latest podcast, wondering if you have a charge cord like this, you can connect four 1S batteries and use your regular charger to bring them to storage charge. Just need to adjust the current on your charger. So, he sent me a picture. I printed the picture. Nobody else can see it, but you guys can.

[00:40:27] It's actually really, really clever. That's what he printed. That's what he made. So, let me try to explain this if I can. And I ended up buying a bunch of parts on AliExpress.

[00:40:43] Have you guys bought on? Okay. This is like my first time buying anything on there. So, I didn't know how to take it. Very cheap. Oh, yeah. Like, so, I bought the, what are they called? The PH or PH125 connectors, I think is what they call them that are on the little 1S batteries. So, I bought 100 sets, male and female, of those connectors with a 4-inch lead maybe? 4-inch, yeah. 4-inch or so lead on it. And then I also bought five of each 4S, 3S,

[00:41:20] And 6S balance leads. And then I also bought, I don't remember how many sets. It might have been 10 sets of the little, the JST, little two-pin, whatever those are called. Red guys. Yeah, the red guys. Yeah, the red guys. All that delivered to my door, less than 20 bucks. And how long did it take? It took about two weeks. Okay. So, I mean,

[00:41:44] That's pretty much my experience with ordering from AliExpress and, what's the other one, Alibaba or something like that? Alibaba? Alibaba. I think they're the same. Yeah, I've used both of them. They seem to be fine. It's been a while, but yeah, that was pretty much. Don't expect anything super high quality and don't expect it tomorrow. Right. Well, but for what I'm doing,

[00:42:01] Though, like, I mean, these are good quality to me. Like, what I'm seeing, I've not seen anything bad on them. Yeah, they seem fine. Like, you can actually see that cable there. Yeah. Looks good. Like, they're bigger leads. They're,. Yeah. The wire is not like

[00:42:17] That doorbell wire that's, like, very stiff. Yeah. Yeah, the wire is very, it's not like

[00:42:22] Single strand. Supple. Yeah. Wire. So, yeah, I think these will be just fine. But anyway, so, this is a charger lead that pretty much just takes what you have on all of your batteries already and splits out the cells singularly. Is that a good way to describe it? Yeah. So,

[00:42:42] It allows the cell balancing function of your charger to balance, to see these batteries as individual batteries so that you can then discharge them. To seem as individual cells.

[00:42:53] Cells. Excuse me. On one battery. Yeah, yeah. So, when you charge it or discharge it, it thinks it's charging, like, since I did the, I have six of the batteries, so I did a six cell balance lead. Yeah. And it thinks that it's got six, or a six cell battery on there.

[00:43:08] Exactly. So, with that, like I said, it does a good job of discharge. I already have a charger, so I don't need to charge them on it. But it does a good job of discharging to storage charge or charging to storage charge. So, I don't have to worry about these batteries going bad.

[00:43:22] It's really, really clever, actually. Way, way to think outside the box.

[00:43:28] Yeah. So, it's not pretty, but it's proof of concept to make sure it worked. Have you? Have you? Yeah, I've used it twice now, actually.

[00:43:36] Yeah. So, you can pretty it up if you want to. I don't, I mean, I don't think you need to. A little heat shrink will go a long way.

[00:43:41] Yeah. Well, it's got some heat shrink on it. You can see, like, I use that on each one of those. But the, so it's got, like I said, the six cell balance charger and then the IC3. That's what I use to plug into the actual charger itself. Use it on the Spectrum smart chargers.

[00:43:57] So, I wasn't sure, like, the reason I did, I bought the three cell, four cell, and six cell leads is because I was going to make one for, if I want to charge six cells or six batteries or four or three. But then I got thinking, like, oh, no, I think I just talked myself out of that. Well, because I hadn't thought about it until we sat down, but I.

[00:44:21] Yeah, if you tell the charger it's a 4S, you just plug in four cells. You just have to know which ones to plug them into.

[00:44:27] That won't work, though. Yeah, my charger's picky about that. If it sees something plugged into the six cell port, you better have six cells.

[00:44:34] And so, it's not going to see that because of, like, if you put a four cell in here or just four of them in there, it's going to get the voltage from the sixth cell thing. So, I talked myself out of that. But, yeah, so it's for six batteries now to do what I have. I'll probably make one, like I said, for a four and then for a three also. But it's a good idea.

[00:44:57] Do a two and be done with it. Yeah.

[00:44:59] And you can actually easily do a two on one of the four cell ones just by cutting off some of the feeds or wiring it differently.

[00:45:06] But, yeah. Are you going to post this picture on the website?

[00:45:09] I will actually do that on, yes, the website. That's what I was going for. I mean, that's what I was. My mind went into a couple different things. I'm sorry. Yeah. So, it'll be on our page or web page thing.

[00:45:25] Yeah. Very, very clever.

[00:45:27] And so, then after I got these.

[00:45:28] Our listeners are so smart.

[00:45:30] I know, right? Like, I was going to buy a bunch of those single dischargers. I'm sure they work great. Right. But this is, I can do all six at once. It's good. And honestly, it was cheaper to do this and buy enough to do, well, I can probably make 15 of these. Several, yeah. For cheaper than what I would have bought just the dischargers for.

[00:45:51] Yeah, very clever.

[00:45:52] And then because this went so well with AliExpress, I ended up ordering LEDs.

[00:45:58] LEDs? Okay.

[00:46:00] So, they have five meter rolls of 12 volt LEDs. just like the normal ones that you get. The color ones that don't change. I got red, blue, green, white, and yellow. And they were $2.90 a piece. I will probably borrow some of that blue. I will not be using very much blue. Or buy. So, that's fine. Yeah. Yeah. And I mean, free shipping on that too. Yeah.

[00:46:23] Did you say you got green too?

[00:46:26] So, I want it enough because I want to do the Assassin, the wing. Oh, yeah. Because that needs to be a night flyer.

[00:46:35] Absolutely.

[00:46:36] And I haven't decided yet. I might have a few days to decide unless they sell out. But Horizon has a heck of a sale on the Slow Ultra Stick right now. They do. It's like $160. Yeah, it's a good deal. Binding fly. Really good deal. I thought about getting one of those just to make a night flyer. That would be a great night flyer. You should. That would be a fantastic night flying airplane. So.

[00:46:56] Yep.

[00:46:57] I figured that at least it would be great for that. And you can even put it on the side of the stick fuselage and go from there.

[00:47:04] Mm-hmm. Yeah. That would be a perfect candidate for doing that. Yeah. So, how much was that?

[00:47:10] Each one? It was $2.90 a piece. So, it was less than $15.

[00:47:14] Yeah, it's considerably cheaper than pretty much anywhere else.

[00:47:18] Well, that's why. Like, I was wanting to do this before. And Amazon had them for about $15 for a roll. Yep. And I could not justify, what, $75?

[00:47:28] Right.

[00:47:29] Just for LEDs? Just to have on hand. Yeah.

[00:47:32] And now with this, like I said, it was $15 delivered. That's crazy.

[00:47:35] I mean, like, if they don't work as long, if they don't. It's not like these are going to be ran.

[00:47:40] Right.

[00:47:40] 24 hours a day.

[00:47:42] Very sporadically.

[00:47:42] Sporadically. In the life of the airplane, it will probably have less than 10 hours on it, to be honest with you. Yeah. For night flying.

[00:47:49] And night flying, it could be a relatively short lifetime.

[00:47:52] What do you mean? Oh, maybe. Clipsies. Yeah. I don't think with a slow ultra stick, though, because that is such a good flying airplane. Oh, yeah, it's, so. You won't have any trouble.

[00:48:02] No. That's good. I mean, I have to, the thing, so, my hang up with AliExpress, you have to, if I recall, you have to install an app on your phone to do the shop, unless you do it online, maybe you do it like with your laptop or something. I have the apps. I have the app. So, I kept getting, like, notifications, not like emails, but like notifications after notification after notification, and emails, but like notification on my phone.

[00:48:32] And it was not easy to, like, turn that stuff off, at least on my phone. So, I finally had to just uninstall the app and be done with it.

[00:48:41] So, I don't get notifications, but I get emails. Yeah. Your order was placed. Your order was accepted. Your order has changed status. There's a shipping update for your order there, but the problem is it's not your order. It's for every item in the order. So, I think I woke up a couple mornings ago and looked, and there was, like, 28 emails just doing the same, which you can ignore those enough, whatever. Send them to spam.

[00:49:10] It would be nice to not have every single thing you buy have eight, pretty much, notifications for each one, but that's okay. It's cheap enough to where I'm all right with it.

[00:49:22] But then, and then also, in the back of my head, you're supporting China. You are no matter what, by the way. That's true. So, pretty much. You're not covertly, you're overtly doing it, by ordering from whatever.

[00:49:36] I mean, honestly, the ones that are on Amazon are the same ones. But you're just paying somebody else to house them here and get them to you quicker.

[00:49:43] You're absolutely right. But in my, like I said, it's my hang-up, not everyone else's.

[00:49:50] Everywhere else. I mean, that's where it's coming from. I know that. No, but that's where it's coming from. Anywho. Oh, something else I did. Started printing the nozzle, by the way, for the Viper 90.

[00:50:04] See, you've done more RC stuff than you thought.

[00:50:06] Well, when I say starting or started printing the nozzle, I literally mean like I just pushed the start button on the printer.

[00:50:14] You had to load the file. You had to get the file. You had to transfer the file. Did you have to, like I…

[00:50:20] Slice the file.

[00:50:21] Yeah, you had to do all that.

[00:50:23] I mean, I was pushing a button. But yeah. So, I don't have the final material I'm going to use on it yet. But the stuff I have is like water cleanup resin, and it's not very strong for something like that. They make some ABS-like stuff. That's actually what's called is ABS-like. And I'll probably…

[00:50:47] That's actually what they call it?

[00:50:48] Yes.

[00:50:49] Well, this is ABS-like.

[00:50:50] Yes.

[00:50:50] Well, can I get ABS? No.

[00:50:52] No, you can't actually.

[00:50:52] This is like ABS.

[00:50:53] You can't with resin. Oh. I don't know anything about that. So, this is supposed to be stronger kind of stuff. But I just wanted to print and see how everything goes together and all that before.

[00:51:03] You can get carbon-reinforced filament now, right?

[00:51:06] Filament, yeah.

[00:51:07] But filament's not.

[00:51:08] It looks like a gooey thing.

[00:51:09] Yeah. But that requires like a different type of printer, right? Or a compatible.

[00:51:15] So, there's two kinds. There's the FDM, I think is what it's called, which is the… Filament deposit. Yeah. Whatever that stands for that you're talking about that you buy the rules of and all that. And then this is just the liquid resin printer. Which literally is just a UV light that cures different heights and layers on it. Cool. Yeah. But so, I'll dial that in a little bit more and see about starting on that.

[00:51:44] I mean, it's just going to take time to print because each part, I think, was taken five-ish hours to do, which is no big deal. But I need to do a little bit more research on the resin and see.

[00:51:56] Other than that, that's about all I've been up to. Yeah.

[00:52:00] Cool.

[52:01] UNKNOWN: Cool.

[00:52:02] All right, then. Oh, we did. Hey, Jen. I'm sorry, go ahead. We did, by the way, pay for our camping spot at Joe and I. Oh, that's right.

[00:52:10] Yes.

[00:52:11] So, that is done and I am registered as a pilot for the whole week. Ready to go. So, we're all set. It's a shame.

[00:52:16] It's like six months away.

[00:52:18] I know. It gives a lot of stuff for us to look forward to, though. Yeah. I've confirmed with my sister and her husband that we will be using their camper again. Sweet. Yay. So, it's going to be a good trip. Yeah.

[00:52:35] Dave? Are we taking the jets?

[00:52:37] I don't know.

[00:52:39] Yes. I think we should. I hope to have so many flights on my jet by then that it'll just be like taking the stick.

[00:52:46] I think a lot is going to depend on weather for how many flights we get in before then. Oh, that's true. Because it's windy. It is early in the year that we do get.

[00:52:56] It's short. Yeah. We get crappy weather here in the spring sometimes.

[00:53:00] But, I mean, I don't know. Like, I honestly have not a lot of interest in doing that there.

[00:53:07] Okay.

[00:53:08] Like, I have a lot more fun being low-stressed and not necessarily flying at the main line. I mean, I'm okay flying at the E-Line or the float line. And that is a lot of fun, too, by the way. Because it's just dumb fun. It's simple.

[00:53:24] We spent very little. I'm sorry. This isn't a joke. I promise. But we spent very little time at the main line last year. And same year before.

[00:53:32] Comparatively speaking.

[00:53:34] Which, that's okay.

[00:53:35] I mean, that's the thing. That's where all the big planes are. It's fun to go watch them. But I don't really have much interest in spending a lot of time there.

[00:53:46] Yep. That's just me. Cool.

[00:53:49] What about you, Dave? What? Have you decided? Yeah.

[53:52] UNKNOWN: No, I'm making it going.

[00:53:53] You're not going? No. No. Well, Dave, I can actually say you suck.

[00:53:58] Yeah, I probably.

[00:53:59] Wow. Wow. I wasn't going to go that far. You thought it. Or that sucks.

[00:54:05] Maybe you thought that sucks.

[00:54:05] That sucks.

[00:54:06] Okay.

[00:54:07] That sucks, Dave. It's just too far. And my home situation is not doable.

[00:54:13] Not conducive to such a long and.

[54:16] UNKNOWN: Yeah.

[00:54:16] I get it. Expensive trip. It is expensive.

[00:54:19] Plus the truck in the tree. Transmission truck's trying to go out. Oh, jeez. You and that truck. I'm so sick of that truck.

[00:54:24] Take Daniel's.

[00:54:26] It's a bullet. It's still 14 hours away.

[00:54:29] Yeah, his has a brand new transmission in it.

[00:54:31] Yeah. Thanks, Nissan. Hey, hey, hey. Yeah. It's just not doable for me.

[00:54:38] Okay. Well, we can. Maybe next year.

[00:54:40] You guys go have fun.

[00:54:41] There's time. I mean, you might. he could change his mind.

[00:54:45] I'm going to keep on him.

[00:54:46] Me too.

[54:48] UNKNOWN: Yeah.

[00:54:49] I think Reggie said he plans on going.

[00:54:52] Last time I talked to him, he was planning. Yeah. He was planning. It's been a while. By the way, Reggie's birthday was yesterday.

[00:54:58] He's what, 75?

[00:55:00] 75, Dave.

[00:55:01] Wow. Jeez. I thought it was the 60s, but I guess I'm wrong too. Wow. I'm kidding. Dave was an anagram of what he is.

[00:55:10] True. He's 57. 57.

[00:55:13] Just put it out there. Tell everybody his age. There you go.

[00:55:17] 57. Well, you said it was an anagram of 75, so I mean, like, it doesn't take it.

[00:55:22] Not everybody knows what an anagram would mean.

[00:55:25] Well, I'm stupid, and I know what that means. So, yeah.

[00:55:29] Yeah. No, 57. Happy birthday, Reggie. Hope you get everything you want and fly your jet sometime this year, but you won't.

[00:55:36] Well, this year's almost over.

[00:55:37] This year's almost over. The weather's off.

[00:55:40] It's 18 degrees. Actually, it's colder than that now. Yeah, it is. Right now. It's like 15 degrees outside.

[00:55:45] Last I talked to him, he said he was planning on flying it this year, but I guess that's not going to happen either. The wind's blowing like 30 miles an hour.

[00:55:52] Man. He still has, as far as I know, not to bash on Reggie, but I think he still has some stuff to do to finish it. He hasn't done that yet?

[00:56:01] Not that I know of. You left, like, two things for him to do. I mean, he's been busy.

[00:56:08] He has family stuff going on, too. So, I mean, his dad, his dad's not doing great. So, anyway.

[56:17] UNKNOWN: Okay.

[00:56:18] So, that's, yeah, that's the episode.

[00:56:21] Yeah, I'm done. Are you getting ready to say that? Yeah, well, pretty much. I mean, I don't have anything else.

[00:56:25] Sorry, folks, that we didn't have a lot of airplane stuff to talk about, but hopefully by the next episode. Well, we need to talk about the wives episode, too. That's coming up. We're going to do that soon, right? January 1st.

[00:56:37] That's next.

[00:56:38] Yeah.

[00:56:39] End of year.

[00:56:40] Right. So, yeah. So, you can look forward to that. It'll be whatever the next one is. It'll be fun to listen to our wives, make fun of us, as usual, as they always do. And then I promise by the next episode that we talk about, just us.

[00:56:55] Don't make promises.

[00:56:57] No, I'm going to do stuff this weekend downstairs on the airplanes that I got to swap meet. So, I will have at least that to talk about and hopefully other stuff.

[00:57:06] We need to get through this glider because that's the only big thing I have so that we can start on another big airplane.

[00:57:12] Yes.

[00:57:12] That needs to become a project, too. I don't disagree. Okay. I'm good. You good? Yep. Dave, good? I was good when I got here. Well, thank you, everybody, for listening. Until next time, I'm Ron.

[00:57:26] Have a Merry Christmas, everybody. In case we don't talk to you before then, I'm Tom.

[00:57:30] And I'm Dave. We, I don't know. We won't. We will. I'd have to look at the map. It doesn't matter.

[00:57:36] Today's the 12th.

[00:57:37] So, 13th is when this comes up. 13th. Yeah, we won't. Yeah. Will we?

[57:44] UNKNOWN: No. Oh.

[00:57:45] Okay. Well, happy holidays, everybody. And until next time, we already did that, didn't we? You did that, right. Good night. Good night.
