[00:00:00] Now I brought something up. Great.
[00:00:09] Yes.
[00:00:12] Good times. Are we good? Yeah, I think so. Hello, everyone, and welcome to the RC Plane Lab podcast. I'm Ron. I'm Tom. And I'm Dave. And these idiots are my co-hosts. Every time I say, are we ready to start before we start? Well, you shouldn't say anything. Because we did it in spite of this time. Everybody said, yes, we are good. As soon as I hit the record button, somebody has to fail.
[00:00:38] That was on purpose.
[00:00:40] Well, that's…
[00:00:41] Because you were being directed at you. Yeah.
[00:00:43] What does that mean? You guys act like I'm a… Anyway. So what's up, gentlemen?
[00:00:49] Same old, same old. Work and then work on airplanes when I can. Dave?
[00:00:56] Work and…
[00:00:57] Work. Work, yeah.
[00:00:59] We are so shorthanded.
[00:01:01] Yeah. That stinks. I hate when that happens.
[1:05] UNKNOWN: Man.[00:01:06] It wasn't me.
[00:01:07] No, it was me.
[00:01:08] Sorry, I wasn't looking at anybody.
[00:01:09] I was just trying to ignore… Okay. Well, you were looking at me. Well, I was… You were talking and complaining about something stinking. I don't know, whatever. So, can we be happier? Big news, yeah. Actually, not. Well, no. First thing I want to talk about before we get into a couple new releases. So, we have the listener survey out.
[00:01:27] We do.
[00:01:27] Version three. Version three. We've had a lot of responses. Thank you for everybody that has emailed their responses in or sent them in. Yep. Thanks. Have you been getting those, Dave? I haven't got one. Well, I need to go back and check. Yeah, you should fix that. Because I thought it should be emailing to him. Anyway, I will look. So, we have a lot, then. A lot for you to read. I feel a little left out at this point.
[00:01:48] I would, too.
[00:01:49] But we've got a lot of good feedback, a lot of positive feedback. Yeah. And I appreciate all the feedback that we have gotten. We have had a few. I'll say a select few people call us out on something. And I would like to address that right now.
[00:02:06] Okay.
[00:02:08] Reggie.
[00:02:10] Yeah, some of the responses seem to indicate that we're a little hard on Reggie.
[00:02:16] Reggie. So, this is what I want to say about that. It's all in good fun. Reggie, and obviously, anything I say, I would say to his face. Because I kind of am, just with him not being here. But no, like, Reggie and I, I mean, we go back. We're good friends. We joke with each other quite a bit. But if it comes off as being mean, it's probably because it is a little bit. But that's just how we are. So, I apologize if anybody's taken that the wrong way.
[00:02:46] It's not meant with any malice or anything like that. It's just our relationship. Does that make sense? We love Reggie. Yeah. We talked. No, see, I was going to do it then. Yes, we love Reggie.
[00:02:57] Yeah. I feel similar.
[00:03:02] I won't use those words.
[00:03:04] Yeah. But, I mean, yeah, it's a two-way street. Reggie is, because you guys don't hear the other half of his swipes at us.
[00:03:16] Right. Because it is a two-way street. It is as good as it gets. It is a two-way street. And I do understand. He doesn't have the podium that we have. Right, exactly. Every week to talk about things that he has done. Yeah.
[00:03:29] Which I just got a call from. Oh, here we go.
[00:03:32] I just got a call from him last night.
[00:03:34] Yeah.
[00:03:35] Apparently, he was flying one of his airplanes. I don't remember what make it was, but it's an extra 300. I think it was a Foamy.
[00:03:42] No, it is a Foamy.
[00:03:43] Do which one I'm talking about? I have no idea. He's got so many. Yeah. I know. But anyway, so apparently it's a, it's, I couldn't tell you what brand.
[00:03:52] It might be the extreme flight.
[00:03:54] No, that's not, those aren't Foamy's.
[00:03:57] I was going to say.
[00:03:57] I know he has an extreme flight. That's not sounding right. But anyway, so long story short, apparently that airplane has wing clips that hold it in to where you just slide the wing on and you push the little clip down and that holds the wing in. So there's no wing screws or anything holding on them, which he apparently did not fully seat one of the clips. And while he was flying, what happened.
[00:04:23] So basically Dave has another repair.
[00:04:24] No, actually he was very impressed. He said the wing came out. It didn't come off of the wing spar, but it came out and went 90 degrees. So it acted like a break. Oh, wow. He said he did the first flat spin he has ever done. Cool. He said it came down nice and slow to where it didn't do a lot of damage. He said the landing gear cracked, I think, on it, but it's nothing that he's unable to land it up right. Yeah. Yeah. So we got very lucky that one. But yeah, good crash story.
[00:04:53] I would like to have seen a video of that. That would have been cool. But apparently nobody ever records him flying, even though maybe we should. We should.
[00:05:01] Hmm. Gives me an idea. We should incorporate that like as a control surface. Like instead of having just an aileron, just have the two wing halves.
[00:05:10] Have the whole wings. Yeah. I have seen back in the day there was plans for an airplane that did that. It pivoted an entire wing and not having an aileron. Wow. Cool. Really?
[00:05:19] Could you pivot them like independently? Independently.
[00:05:21] Yes.
[00:05:21] Oh, man.
[00:05:22] That'd be cool.
[00:05:23] That'd be weird.
[00:05:24] I really wish I could hear what that was, but it was neat.
[5:27] UNKNOWN: Yeah.[00:05:27] Oh, if anybody knows, probably does do pretty good flat spins.
[00:05:30] Dave at rcplanelab.com. There you go. And they can tell us.
[00:05:33] You just have to make sure you either initialize his account so he gets that email.
[00:05:37] No, he gets emails. Yeah. I get all the junk ones. Your website's doing great, but we can do better.
[00:05:43] Stupid spam. I get about four of those a day. Yeah. I get a bunch too.
[00:05:47] I get a few of them. But anyway, I guess our website kind of sucks to those people that want to charge us to make it better, huh?
[00:05:56] Yeah, I suppose so.
[00:05:57] I don't think it does.
[00:05:58] I like our website.
[00:06:00] Anyway.
[00:06:00] Yeah.
[00:06:01] I think that was all I wanted to say about that. rcplanelab.com. That was all I think I wanted to say about the Reggie gate that we have going on. Don't forget, though, like I said, we have the survey app with a lot of people filled out so far. Not everybody. So go fill it out if you haven't. How do?
[00:06:21] Like, how do who hasn't?
[00:06:23] Well, the downloads do not match the number of them that we have got. So that tells me that that's not matching. Okay. Yeah.
[00:06:34] We appreciate the feedback. We really do. We do. And we actually do take that feedback and try to incorporate it into the show. We talk about them. Yeah. My, so from all the ones I've read, my sort of my.
[00:06:48] Keep going. Wow. That's annoying. Keep talking.
[00:06:55] Ron's phone is going off again. So it seems like the, the feeling I get from most of that feedback is that guys just want to hear us talk about airplane stuff.
[00:07:06] Yeah.
[00:07:07] Like they don't seem to need a specific like topic or anything like that. They just want to hear us talk about airplanes, which is awesome because I like talking about airplanes.
[00:07:18] And I, I don't often have a lot to say or I, I shouldn't say it. I don't often have a set topic to talk about.
[00:07:26] Yeah.
[00:07:27] I've gotten very lax in what we discuss.
[00:07:30] We had a topic, a few episodes ago, right? I don't know. I don't remember. What was it? Safety? Shop safety. I think it was. Could have been.
[00:07:37] Speaking of shop safety.
[00:07:39] Yeah. Oh, do you want to get to that first?
[00:07:41] Do you want to talk about that? It's time for our Seaplane Labs tool of the week.
[00:07:48] It's a tool I love to hate. It's a tool that will hurt you as much as it will help you.
[00:07:54] It scares me.
[00:07:57] It's the woodpecker.
[00:07:58] So of course we're talking about, talking about the top flight. I don't know who makes them now. If it's still a top flight, I don't even know if you can buy them anymore, but. I've not found them. The top flight woodpecker. Just a day of lawsuits. Yeah. So. It's a fun tool to say woodpecker, not a fun tool to have impale your fingers.
[00:08:17] Which happens often with it. Don't try and grab it if it starts to fall.
[00:08:22] Nope. Let it fall.
[00:08:23] Just don't let it fall on your foot. Tell us what, Tommy or Dave, does the woodpecker do?
[00:08:29] It puts micro holes in your balsa sheeting to allow the air gas bubbles somewhere to go when you're covering with a iron-on covering.
[00:08:38] Mm-hmm. So when you're going.
[00:08:41] Or also covering.
[00:08:42] It will also poke holes in covering that is already on.
[00:08:46] So you can go color on color so you don't get those nasty blisters.
[00:08:48] Right. So if you're putting any kind of accents on a fully covered airplane, you use that beforehand so that you don't get all the ucky air bubbles underneath.
[00:09:00] And the reason I, well, there's several reasons I'm not a big fan of this tool. Number one is it doesn't like people.
[00:09:09] It's quite aggressive.
[00:09:10] Yeah. It, if you touch this tool anywhere other than the handle.
[00:09:16] Which is red.
[00:09:16] Which is red. Which is red. For a reason, I'm sure. For a reason.
[00:09:19] It probably started out as white.
[00:09:20] If you're, if you're keeping this like in a toolbox and you're rifling around a toolbox to try to find a tool and you hit, you will know as soon as you find the woodpecker in your toolbox. But it ought to come with a box of band-aids. Yeah. It's actually a really good marketing tool. But the real reason I don't like it is because what is it designed to do? It's designed to poke holes in your aircraft's structure. So, well, let me finish. No. Okay. You hold on. Let me finish.
[9:51] UNKNOWN: Fine.[00:09:52] You win.
[00:09:52] It is designed to put holes in the airframe to allow the gas bubbles, like Dave said, some place to go so that they're not trapped between your covering and your sheeting in this case. So, what these things do is they poke holes. They damage, essentially, damage the sheeting. And it's supposed to go all the way through. Otherwise, what's the point of poking holes in it? If the holes don't go anywhere, because the reason for the holes is to allow the gas someplace to go.
[00:10:22] So, you're poking holes all the way through your sheeting. So, what is sheeting? It's balls of wood, right? And it's grains of fibers, right, that running lengthwise, usually. And you're basically taking this tool and segmenting all these fibers into tiny pieces. So, you're losing that longitudinal stiffness and strength that comes from that sheeting. So, that's why I don't like using it. And also, did I mention that it hurts your fingers when you touch it?
[00:10:52] So, you look at it and you bleed.
[00:10:54] Yeah.
[00:10:55] Let me ask you this, then. Because I didn't realize it was made to… Because I've never had a problem covering over balsa. Me neither. With air bubbles.
[00:11:04] Mm-hmm.
[00:11:05] So, I thought the only reason for that was to get holes in the first layer of covering before you cover over it.
[00:11:12] Mm-hmm.
[00:11:13] So, it doesn't have to go all the way through the balsa. It just has to be…
[00:11:15] But what is the point if it doesn't? What I'm saying is…
[00:11:18] Well, the air still goes through… I mean, the balsa is not airtight.
[00:11:22] Yeah, it's porous.
[00:11:23] I get that.
[00:11:24] But so is the surface of the balsa, especially if you've sanded it. It's porous. So, why would you need additional holes if not all the way through? If not to put the holes all the way through?
[00:11:33] That is what… As I said, it's for covering going over covering. Same. No, it's not the same. Because you're putting holes in the covering…
[00:11:40] If you have covering over a sheeted surface, let's say. Let's not talk about open structure. Let's talk about just a sheeted surface. Sure. You have to get the holes through the covering. Yes. Plus… No. Yeah. That gas has… Okay, so the gas is going to go to the second layer of covering and then get trapped there. Because there's nowhere for it to go through the wood.
[00:12:00] No, you put the holes through the covering. I understand that. Not through the balsa. Okay, so you've got some trapped air. Because the balsa is porous enough to take that air out.
[00:12:09] That's what I'm saying. If the balsa is porous enough to take the air from between your covering and the balsa, then why are we putting holes in it in the first place?
[00:12:17] For the second layer of covering. Are we talking… He's not tracking what I'm saying. I guess I'm not tracking what you're saying.
[00:12:24] I follow both of you. So, yes, the balsa is porous and allows that gas somewhere to go without the extra additional holes. If you have that mylar film there, or whatever it is… Covering….that does stop the air transfer. So, by poking holes in that covering, that does allow that gas to get to the wood, which is porous enough to carry it away.
[00:12:49] When you do it your way with cover going just through the wood, that makes it even more porous and it drops through much faster and easier.
[00:12:57] Right, but the idea is still to get someplace for the gas to go.
[00:13:01] Yes.
[00:13:01] And if balsa is porous enough for gas to dissipate, can we just say dissipate, between two layers of covering, then why is it not also… It's not between two layers of covering. Well, then why are you poking holes in it?
[00:13:16] Because you have to have a way to get the air to the balsa from that first…
[00:13:22] Is it not the same process on the first layer?
[00:13:25] No.
[00:13:26] You're trying to create someplace for the air to go. I have never heard of doing it for a first layer of covering.
[00:13:32] Yes, it's designed for that as well.
[00:13:34] Is it really? Yeah, it is. It does make it more porous, therefore it goes through faster.
[00:13:40] Oh, I've never had a problem covering… I haven't either. I haven't either. I have had a problem covering… Well, let me take that back. Yeah, and everybody has.
[00:13:50] Which is why I wanted to borrow that. Because your technique is wrong. But what I'm saying is like with ultra coat, I have that issue all the time over sheeted surfaces. I don't know what it is about ultra coat. You'll get pockets of air even on just unprepared balsa, which is about the most porous balsa you could, without any sanding or anything, it's pretty porous. You still get air bubbles, and that's what that is designed to alleviate.
[00:14:18] But there is a technique, right? Like if you want to cover covering on covering, there is a technique for that where you don't need that tool.
[00:14:27] Working from one end to another?
[00:14:29] Heat. The amount of heat you use is directly proportional to how many bubbles you're going to get underneath that piece of covering. And then, yes, starting somewhere, and then having the covering up off of the surface. Surface. Man, words are hard. And then taking your iron where the covering meets, the two coverings meet, and iron that down, slowly laying it down, and you won't have… It's a technique that requires practice.
[00:14:56] But once you get it, you will not have nearly as many. You minimize it.
[00:15:00] And then I take and just use the iron or, excuse me, the heat gun and a damp washcloth to take and shove them all into one spot. Then I poke them. Yep. So, you have one hole instead of thousands. Or… But the one hole is then in the top layer. Which disappears. You don't see it.
[00:15:20] Another technique that works on monocoat. I don't know if this works on ultracote because the adhesive is different. But if you use Windex with ammonia as a kind of like applying vinyl, you wet the surface and then squeegee it out. You lay it down. You can use the same technique with monocoat. The ammonia will activate the adhesive, and it will allow you to squeegee out all the bubbles because of the wetness.
[00:15:41] And then if you let it sit for a few days, run over it with a warm iron to really get it tacked down. No bubbles that way. It's time-consuming, and a lot of people like me are not patient enough to use that technique. But, yeah.
[00:15:56] Well, I planned on using it just working on the glider for where I cover over the white. The whole thing is going to be based in white. Then there is going to be a few spots on there. Especially because there's open structure underneath to where you can't really have a separation. what I mean? Like, it can't just be open structure with white on the top and then a quarter-inch overlay with your other covering out. Yeah, I'm talking about what you're saying.
[00:16:23] So, it's got to be fully sheeted with white first.
[00:16:26] Well, there's ways you can make that work, too. Okay. Would you like me to explain?
[00:16:32] Well, I mean, I'm not quite to that point yet, but I will be soon.
[00:16:35] So, sure. Well, and you can use the same technique with Ultracode. So, let's just say Ultracode, right? Because Monocode's no more. If you take… So, the nice thing about Ultracode is it's multi-heat activated, right? So, it starts activation of the adhesive at 240, 220, something like that?
[00:16:54] Yeah.
[00:16:54] It's pretty low. So, let me start around 300 for my app. Okay. And then it shrinks progressively the higher you go in temperature. But at the heat or at the adhesive activation temperature, it will not shrink at all. It just gets sticky. It gets sticky. Yeah. Because it activated the adhesive. So, on open surfaces, let's say like a wing panel, like you're going to be doing on your glider.
[00:17:17] If your trim scheme, the border, let's say the overlap is over an open structure, you could create a panel of covering off of the airplane, say on a sheet of glass, before you actually apply it to the airplane. And wherever those colors, the seams overlap, you give that about a half an inch or so, maybe not quite a half inch, three-eighths of overlap.
[00:17:42] At the heat activation stage, you can leave the film, the transfer covering, the backing on the bottom layer, and then peel back the top layer a little bit. And you can actually iron them together, like on a sheet of glass, at low temperature, get them stuck together, and then iron that piece of ginormous piece of covering that's basically two pieces of covering, as if it were one. You just have to be careful around the seams.
[00:18:09] And the way I do that is I roll up a paper towel, get it wet, and lay it right on that seam, so it doesn't get hot.
[00:18:15] Oh, okay. To dissipate the heat as it's…
[00:18:17] Exactly. So they don't pull apart.
[00:18:19] I gotcha.
[00:18:19] Yeah. I've used that technique lots of… Actually, I think I used that technique on the Duelist, actually.
[00:18:27] Oh, really?
[00:18:27] Yep. Might be worth trying. Yeah. To me, it sounds more difficult than… It's more… Well, I mean, it's not difficult. I mean, let's be honest. More time-consuming. It's time-consuming, yeah.
[00:18:37] More planning, because then you have to have it set exactly how you want.
[00:18:41] It does. But if your overlap… Let's say you cover your entire wing panel white, and you've got like a big graphite stripe going right down the middle, that's a lot of area for you to get air trapped in. Whereas if you make it, you've only got a three-eighths inch wide overlap that you're going to have to worry about air getting in between, that sure saves you from having to use this impaling device to create bubbles or to create places for bubbles to dissipate.
[00:19:11] Dave, what I'm talking about. Absolutely. You've done it before, I'm sure. Yeah.
[00:19:14] This is the quick and dirty version, or you can do it the right way.
[00:19:19] Yes. Well, I like quick and dirty, I guess. I go for simple. I have had like the biggest mental block for some reason about working on stuff recently. Yeah, we talked about that. It's terrible. Day before, whatever day that was. Day before, yeah. And it's just like, I don't know how to get out of it.
[00:19:36] Yeah, it's burnout. I mean, I think we've all experienced it.
[00:19:39] I haven't touched Reggie's for a week.
[00:19:41] Yeah. Lately, I've been on a roll, but I suspect that by the time spring gets here and I'm ready to fly, I won't want to work on anything.
[00:19:49] Yeah. Well, and that'll be fine, because then it should be flying time.
[00:19:52] Well, hopefully, yeah.
[00:19:53] And that might be something, too. Like, honestly, I get to work, and I'm excited. Like, it's, man, I wish I was home. Like, I have energy. I want to do stuff. Then by the time the day goes on, the afternoon hits, and you get home, and then you have to take care of all the other stuff, by the time I have time to do it, I just want to lay down.
[00:20:12] Yeah.
[00:20:13] So.
[00:20:14] No, I get that.
[00:20:15] It's been a rough week.
[00:20:18] Yeah. I get it. But, yeah, I'm on a roll right now. Like, the Beast is almost done, which, by the way, we need to still look for a name for the Beast. I've settled on, I think I put it on our Discord, and I think I put it out there on Facebook, too, but I've got two or three names that I'm liking, and unless I hear something better, I'm going to pick one of those three. So, if it's, and I will give credit where it's due.
[00:20:45] Whoever came up with it, or close to whatever I end up with, will get a t-shirt.
[00:20:51] Yeah.
[00:20:52] How about yours?
[00:20:53] I've had a few options sent in. So, what do you, go ahead, go ahead, I'm sorry. I do have, excuse me, I do have a couple near the top of the list, and one is out in front right now.
[00:21:09] Yeah. But I haven't.
[00:21:10] Do you want to talk about them, or? No.
[00:21:12] Okay.
[00:21:12] I don't want to say what they are yet. Okay. So, if you guys have ideas still, send them in. Yep. There's really no end date. It's just when I get to the point where I have to start cutting. Yeah. Like, your end date is going to be sooner than mine.
[00:21:22] Yeah, mine is, like, I'm going to run the beast, I think, tomorrow, if the weather cooperates. And then, if all goes well with the engine run, it's final assembly, I guess, installing servos and arms and control, control horns and stuff. And then, it'll be ready to fly. And when it's ready to fly, I'm going to want to have a name on it. So, I've contacted Kali Graphics. They said they would be happy to do it for me.
[00:21:51] So, they will be able to incorporate whatever name we come up with with the original graphics.
[00:21:57] I can't wait. So, that'll be cool, right?
[00:21:59] So, I'm, yeah.
[00:22:00] I just need a name. Let's get those names in. Like, you guys have, I'd probably say, like, a week.
[00:22:04] Yeah.
[00:22:05] Just to be safe. Because it's going to take a little while to have them do it. Oh, yeah. So, you probably want to get it done pretty quick. Like I said, mine, nowhere near.
[00:22:14] Just as a reminder, in case you haven't heard the last few episodes, Ron has this 21 foot, I always say 22, but I got it right, I think, this time.
[00:22:23] Yeah.
[00:22:24] 21 foot plus glider that he picked up that needed some work. So, he's looking for a name for that. He's going, probably going to put an electric motor in it along with a tow release.
[00:22:36] Yes. So, it can do either or. A dual purpose. So, it will go both ways, so to speak. That was my name that I have lost favor on.
[00:22:45] And then the Beast Project was the basket case that I got, had been previously crashed and I repaired it.
[00:22:53] So, it's a beast rising from the ashes, so to speak.
[00:22:57] A few good names out there that were submitted by folks on Discord and also on Facebook. There's a couple of good ones there, I thought. So, keep them coming.
[00:23:07] Yep. I agree. Mine, like, I want to incorporate the fact that it's both tow, and actually, to be honest.
[00:23:16] That it swings both ways.
[00:23:17] Yeah. If I don't want to hand launch it. And the more we can embarrass him at large events, the better. Yes, exactly. Oh, I'll own it. That's okay. But if, with the propeller and stuff that I, well, I haven't got the propeller yet, but for the motor and stuff, the way this is set up, you cannot take off from the ground. You will have to either hand launch it, build some sort of dolly, or have a tow up, and then you can use for your propeller after you've done your glide.
[00:23:45] Yeah.
[00:23:46] So, it's not, like, it's not just a simple propeller that I don't want to use all the time. What are you smiling about? I was, well, I know the name you were leaning towards, and I was, I like it.
[00:23:58] Yeah. But, yeah, keep them coming. We find, we see one that we like, we'll put it on the airplane, and you'll get a shirt. Yep. An RC Plane Lab shirt. I mean.
[00:24:08] Not like a shirt or anything like that.
[00:24:10] But, like, yeah, these are really cool shirts. They have our logo on them. And, actually, you can just get on our website, rcplanelab.com. We have a swag link. Click that, and you can design your own. There's pre.
[00:24:22] I think it's a store link, if I remember right. Oh, is it?
[00:24:25] Okay. There's pre-done designs. Pick one of those, and if we choose your name, shirt of your, t-shirt of your choice. I have to specify t-shirt, because technically a hoodie is a shirt, and I really don't want to spring for it. Some of those get expensive.
[24:40] UNKNOWN: Yeah.[00:24:41] So, anyway, don't forget, send us stuff sooner rather than later, but you have more time with Tommy's than you do with mine. I'm sorry. I got that backwards. You have more time with mine than you do with Tommy.
[00:24:53] Speaking of projects, just a quick update from Dave. You said you haven't worked on it.
[00:24:58] I haven't touched Reggie's cockpit project for over a week. I just ran out of motivation, and I spent all last Saturday doing overdue aquarium maintenance. That's not fun.
[00:25:11] So, no update from Dave, then?
[00:25:13] Okay. No update from Dave. Dave.
[00:25:15] Same with me. Nothing really has gotten done.
[00:25:18] Do you want to talk about the Spectrum thing now? We can.
[00:25:20] Yeah, let's do that. Well, there's two things. So, first off, E-Flight came out with another airplane today. Oh, yeah. Let's talk about that one. That's kind of up your alley a little bit. Yep. So, it is a repaint, which I actually think is a pretty good idea.
[00:25:35] Yeah.
[00:25:36] Yeah, why not? Everything's the same. Appeals to a different audience. All the electronics are the same, but they're coming out with the Detroit Miss Mustang.
[00:25:43] Yep.
[00:25:43] I honestly, I don't know much about those airplanes. Like, I don't, I don't follow what the Detroit Miss scheme is. Do anything about that?
[00:25:55] It's a, yeah, it's a fairly famous World War II Mustang, yeah. I'm not sure who the pilot was. I don't either. My history is failing right now. But, yeah, it had, I'm sure, a lot of kills.
[00:26:07] And it's a nice color scheme. It's got the bright yellow nose and red wind tips. It's a popular scheme. It looks like a classic Mustang.
[00:26:12] Yeah, because of the visibility. Yeah, it's really, yeah.
[00:26:15] I would really like it, though, if they just did this in plain silver. Of course you would like it silver. It gave a few options in decals.
[00:26:24] Oh, yeah, I can see that. That's actually a really good idea. Just silver so you can't see it in the sky. Right.
[00:26:29] And if you want to, well, if you want to put a blue nose on it or a, yeah, I see what you're
[00:26:35] Saying.
[00:26:35] That's actually a good idea.
[00:26:38] But like the, well, I was going to say on yours, because you have a voodoo Mustang, which is the same.
[00:26:42] And I love it. Airplane is this. Exactly the same.
[00:26:45] But yours is painted. Yeah. So, I mean, decals really are kind of not, I mean, I guess it would work, but I'd rather have a painted airplane than decals.
[00:26:59] Yeah. Well, I'm painted silver, but. I'm pretty sure it's exactly the same. They've just.
[00:27:06] Yeah.
[00:27:07] It's just another color scheme.
[00:27:08] Does yours have the searable tailwheel? Yeah. Okay.
[00:27:11] Yep.
[00:27:12] Really?
[00:27:13] Mm-hmm.
[00:27:14] I didn't realize that. And that tiny little airplane. Yes.
[00:27:17] Cool, right?
[00:27:18] That's kind of impressive.
[00:27:18] It's just a drag link from the rudder.
[00:27:19] Well, I understand that, but still on something that small, like I just would not have thought.
[00:27:24] Yeah. And it flies awesome.
[00:27:26] Like. Yeah. Even after you run into a shed. Yeah. Easy to repair, too. See? -huh. But yeah, that's pretty exciting. I'm happy to see a military version of that airplane because it does actually really fly.
[00:27:40] And it's a few bucks less than their latest releases. Yeah. So I'm wondering how they pull that off.
[00:27:44] Yeah, $150. They can't.
[00:27:45] I think that's the same price as your airplane, though, isn't it? Of the Voodoo? I think so. I think so, yeah. I think that's what I think.
[00:27:50] The recent ones have been like $169. Yeah. Or $800, from E-Flight. $850.
[00:27:56] $850, excuse me.
[00:27:57] Yeah. That's okay.
[00:27:58] Which I still think. I will still defend E-Flight. For that price. I would, too. Because go try to build a Balsa plane with that equipment for that kind of money. You can't.
[00:28:09] It's, yeah. So. At that size. Yeah.
[00:28:12] It's unfortunate that it's called Timber. But I mean, it looks like all the other Timbers. I know.
[00:28:17] Honestly. It's a good. The thing is, like, those are good flying airplanes. Hopefully the first in a long line of SWS airplanes. Yes.
[00:28:24] Yeah.
[00:28:24] I would think so. Or else they wouldn't call it that line. The SWS. Yeah. Yeah. Series as being the S. Right. For the second. Anyway. So, yeah.
[00:28:34] Mustang. 150 bucks. And the fly is awesome. I can attest. What's next?
[00:28:39] So, next I'm very excited. Yes, you are.
[00:28:43] Dave. I have never seen you more excited to spend $500 than now.
[00:28:49] That part sucks. I will admit. But, so, Spectrum today finally came out with and announced a new receiver. So, it is a 20-channel PowerSafe receiver with AS3X. Yay. Yeah. I was waiting for all the applause. Oh, I'm sorry. Yay. I'll clap.
[00:29:13] I'm afraid I'll hit the microphone.
[00:29:14] Do I not? I think I gave. Do you have the specs on it? Probably. I want to read a couple things off of it. I forgot. So. Sorry.
[00:29:25] Paper shuffling.
[00:29:26] That's all right. Here's the picture. If you want the picture. Why am I excited about it? So, here's the thing. I've been looking and waiting.
[00:29:31] You've been waiting for this for a while since you bought the jet.
[00:29:34] Well.
[00:29:34] Well, since really before you bought the jet, honestly.
[00:29:37] Yes. But, I have been waiting because I need to buy a new receiver for the big glider. Wasn't sure when this was coming out. So, I'm glad that it finally made it to the safe. Well, it's been announced. Well, it's supposed to ship by this or this month. Oh. Okay. Pre-ordered. It's supposed to be in February. But, anyway. So, I've been dragging my feet because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do power safe wise, non-power safe or anything like that for the glider.
[00:30:07] Right.
[00:30:07] I was leaning towards power safe because I like to have people make fun of me for using a power safe receiver for a five-servo airplane. Anywho. So, I obviously have the 20-channel power safe.
[00:30:22] You should probably put two, like, 10,000 milliamp batteries in it, too.
[00:30:25] It's going to be two, 5,000 milliamp batteries. Oh, my God. I would say at least two.
[00:30:29] Good grief.
[00:30:30] Stop it. But, anyway. So. You might need it for ballast. No kidding. I never thought. I mean, anyway. I might actually need to move it back because I'll have a motor in it that's going to make it. Anyway.
[00:30:40] Power safe receiver.
[00:30:41] Yeah. I got off topic. So, I had the one for the jet already, the 20-channel regular power safe receiver. No gyro. And no gyro. So, I was looking to get one for the glider, like I said. And I was going back and forth about, do I want a 10-channel, 14-channel, 20-channel?
[00:30:57] Fitting because the glider goes both ways. That was not. You were going back and forth, you said. Yes.
[00:31:04] But, that would be three ways that I was looking at. Oh, that's true. Three different ones. Yeah. So, anyway. AC-DC. But, there's no AC.
[00:31:12] W-C-DC.
[00:31:14] W. I don't get it. Wind. What's the C? Current. You're so stupid. Anyway.
[00:31:25] AC is alternating current. Why couldn't it be? It goes back and forth.
[00:31:28] Yeah. Wind current. So. I like it. This actually solves a lot of my problems because.
[00:31:35] You should give me a free shirt.
[00:31:36] I don't think that's the one I'm going with. Because this solves my problems. Because I will now have this very nice, brand new released receiver for the jet. Yep. Which will have stability control on it. I actually think it has. Four satellite receivers?
[00:31:53] So, what?
[00:31:54] That's just a lot of stuff in the airplane. That makes me feel better. Well, that's how the regular 20 channel is, too. That's what I have in there. But, anyway. So, it will have that. It will also have. I will not use it. Just so. But, it has safe. Oh. I don't fly with safe. But, it does kind of make me feel better knowing that there is that idiot button just in case my multi-thousand dollar airplane starts to do something stupid.
[00:32:18] But, I mean, you still have to set it up, right? You'd still have to, like, set up the throws and make sure they're going the right direction. Like, I don't know how to set up an AS3X receiver, really. But, you don't just put it in and it knows everything, right? You have to calibrate it and all that kind of stuff.
[00:32:32] Well, we're going to find out. Okay. I mean, whenever this gets here, we're going to have to figure out how to do it. Apparently, it's very easy to set up. It's all done through forward programming, which is really cool. There's no computers needed. You don't have to worry about using your cell phone or anything for programming it. So, it comes with pretty much everything you need. It comes with a gyro. It comes with the 20 channel power safe receiver.
[00:32:55] It comes with, as you said, three of the satellite receivers. And then, it comes with one telemetry receiver. What else was it? So, this is what I like. The switch that is on the regular 20 channel receiver that I have now, it's a soft switch. So, they're made to fail on, obviously, if something happens. This one has the same thing. But, you can actually turn it on and off from your transmitter. Like, I think that's kind of cool.
[00:33:27] You can turn your airplane on and off without actually touching the power button on your airplane. There's a lot of cool things about this. Like, just reading through here. And I'm not going to touch on everything because you guys can go read about it, figure out how much you want to buy one as much as I did. But, so, the AS3X thing now is called the Spectrum Synapse Flight Stabilization Module. The old one, I think, was an AS3000 was the model number.
[00:33:55] And this one is called the AS6000. For some reason, though, this is the part I don't like. It's not backwards compatible with all the other PowerSafe receivers. Like, it would have been really nice if you could have just bought the module for $100 or whatever it is.
[00:34:11] Yeah, and then turned an older one into this one.
[00:34:12] And then turned an older one into an AS4X receiver. But, they're not backwards compatible. No, but that's kind of a bummer. But, apparently, there's a lot of new programming and a lot of new things on this that they could not make backwards compatible with ones that we already have. Which really is too bad. Yeah. Maybe, in the future, they'll do a patch or something. Yeah, which would be handy. Yeah.
[00:34:37] I mean, it doesn't affect me. I don't have any PowerSafe receivers. Oh, wait, I take that back. I do have one in the ASBOC, don't I?
[00:34:42] Yeah. I was trying to get it off. It's an older one. You wouldn't take it. It's an older one.
[00:34:45] You wouldn't let me take it.
[00:34:47] But, anyway. So, yeah. They finally came out with that. I'm happy to hear it. I've got one ordered. Can't wait to get it and play with it and get it installed in the jet. So, that means the jet's going to wait for sure until I get that. Yeah. Because I'm going to pull this other receiver out of there. For the glider. And put it in the glider. Which I'm not ready for that yet. PowerSafe receiver and a five-channel glider. That is so dumb. I'm sorry, but that's just dumb.
[00:35:08] It's six-channel.
[00:35:09] Oh, I'm sorry.
[00:35:11] Because there is a receiver or a motor. So, yeah.
[00:35:15] I mean, an AR8000 would be perfect for that. But, no, let's throw a PowerSafe in there with two 5,000 milliamp batteries.
[00:35:23] You haven't seen the servos I put in there. I just had to use what I had on hand. Because, of course, the cheaper ones I wanted to get, Horizon is out of. And they will not have it until June. Which, apparently, is when the glider tow event is in June. So, I didn't want to cut that close. So, I'm going to go with a little bit nicer ones for the ailerons. And then I had some servos here. I don't remember what ones they are. But let's just say it is quite overkill.
[00:35:52] I think they're 540-inch-ounce servos. Oh, my gosh. Break the wing. And a glider. For the elevator. So, yeah. A little overkill.
[00:36:04] Hey, chair airplane.
[00:36:05] When I was setting it up, though, I told you this. I wasn't sure how much throw I needed. So, I set it up. Luckily, everything was set up before. like it had the control horns and everything on it. So, all I had to do was figure out how much throw the original servo arm had. And make sure I had one that matched. So, I was setting it up. I got it to where it was moving, I think, when I measured it before I set it up correctly.
[00:36:34] I was getting about 2 1⁄2, 2 3⁄4 inches of movement on the elevator.
[00:36:42] That's a lot of throw for a glider.
[00:36:44] At the tip. So, that's, 2 3⁄4 inch up and 2 3⁄4 inches down. So, after I got that taken care of, I got the manual out and was reading through it. But, well, high rates are just under 3⁄4 of an inch.
[00:37:01] Oh, the recommended one throw. And you had over 2 inches.
[00:37:04] Yeah, I had 2 inches more. Because it was, like I said, about 2 3⁄4 inches throw on it. So, I got that dumbed down. And then the low rates were a little over half inch. So, I mean, that barely moves. Like, I can't. Like, it just, that's nuts to me.
[00:37:21] Yeah. How much, like, just out of curiosity, do you recall how much throw you have on the HGA? The M2, ME2, whatever it's called. I never.
[00:37:29] The Stevens. I never paid attention. I just ran it. Nice. 100%. Well, I didn't have a manual for it. Like, I guess I could have looked at it, but I never even thought about. Yeah. Figuring that out. So, I mean.
[00:37:41] I can tell you there's not a lot of throw on the Vamana that I have. And I went with the fact, I'm thinking it was like 3⁄8 of an inch both ways on the elevator.
[00:37:51] And that's 2 meter glider?
[00:37:52] Mm-hmm. Is that, yeah, okay. And, excuse me, when I flew it, it was plenty. Like, I probably could have used either a lot of Expo or taken throw out of it. Like, gliders just don't need that much.
[00:38:04] I guess not.
[00:38:04] Generally, you don't want that because that's drag.
[00:38:06] Right. Get a big throw.
[00:38:08] Oh, I didn't think of that. Yeah. Are you sure it's 2 meter? Because the more I'm thinking about seeing a picture of you, it's bigger than that. It's probably an 8 foot, whatever that. So, it's probably closer to 3 meter. 2.6.
[00:38:20] Actually, it's 2.6. I remember seeing the ads now.
[00:38:23] Okay. Yeah.
[00:38:24] And like I said, not a lot of throw.
[00:38:26] I remember the pictures when you first did it and it did look a little bit bigger than, or taller than what you are.
[00:38:31] Yeah. 2.6 meters, I believe that one is. Nice.
[00:38:37] But yeah, so those are the two new things. Like, I promise I don't just talk about Horizon stuff. It's just that, honestly, like, do you guys see stuff from other companies get released, like Horizon releases stuff?
[00:38:48] Well, yes. You asked me that earlier, but I just remembered. Extreme Flight just released a new V2 Raven. I believe it's a 72-inch, I think.
[00:39:00] Really?
[00:39:01] Beautiful, beautiful airplane.
[00:39:02] Well, we should talk about that, too.
[00:39:05] I was not prepared to talk about it. But I don't have it, yeah, pulled up. But so it's, if you're familiar with Wayne Hanley, he flies a, I think it's a, I think it's an extra wing with a custom fuselage, I think.
[00:39:19] It's a mishmash.
[00:39:20] Yeah, but it's a turboprop. It's a, it's a, it's kind of like an extra size-wise, it's a small aerobatic airplane, but it's a turboprop-powered. Turbo Raven.
[00:39:30] Yeah.
[00:39:31] Quite impressive what the airplane can, it's actually really close, if not over one-to-one on the thrust. So like, conceivably, you could hover this full-size one. And I don't know, maybe he has. I'm not sure. I haven't watched any of his shows, but this is a model of that. And if you're familiar with ExtremeFlight, they build everything very, very lightweight and very, very agile and 3D capable.
[00:39:56] And yeah, this is the electric, kind of set up for their big 30cc electric setup, but they're
[00:40:04] 30cc electric. That just sounds counterintuitive.
[00:40:08] It's a big electric motor. But then I believe they are working on a V2 of their larger, I want to say it's in the 90s, 50cc, I think. Maybe a 70, I can't remember. But that one is, I'm really excited for that too.
[00:40:24] Cool.
[00:40:25] I would like one.
[00:40:27] You were, you were getting away and you were talking very quietly. Oh, sorry.
[00:40:31] Yeah, I do that. But yeah, so ExtremeFlight, they're coming out with like, they're going to do a lot of new stuff this year. If you get on the website, you can see.
[00:40:41] Well, you can check with that one. Because I went to a few different websites today too, just to see if there's anything new out there. And there was nothing recent that I hadn't seen for a long time.
[00:40:52] Actually, they've, ExtremeFlight, over the last probably two months, they've released several, either new versions of their old ones with updated. They have a new wing lock system. So no bolts or anything like that. The wings slide on and then there's like a, it's all machined aluminum stuff and a pin that kind of slides down and locks in place. Pretty slick.
[00:41:12] Oh, that's handy.
[00:41:13] Quick and easy field assembly. Yeah. They're updating a lot of their older models with that new system. But they've also come out with new airplanes too. I think they did a new, they're calling them, I forget what they're calling them. Man, it escapes me. But they're doing kind of like a bind and fly version or a plug and play version of some of their smaller electric ones, which are pretty, pretty cool.
[00:41:35] That is neat.
[00:41:36] Yeah. So.
[00:41:37] Well, I mean, like, do they have a mailing list? I mean, like I've signed up for a few different mailing lists too, and I don't ever get information on new airplanes.
[00:41:46] I think I've signed up for them. I just get the information off Facebook. Like, I'm a, I'm a member of their, like, they have like a, like a fan group kind of a thing. Kind of like the Horizon Hobby has a fan group, Facebook group or whatever, and you'll see their new updates. And that's how I see them.
[00:42:02] Oh, okay.
[00:42:03] Yeah.
[00:42:04] Well, you're in charge of that now. Let us know if you see any. Okay. I mean, like, seriously, because I don't just want to talk about one company. No, no, I got you. Like, I want to talk about everything that's new and what's coming out. But.
[00:42:12] Yeah.
[00:42:12] No worries. If I don't see it and I don't know about it, then I can't.
[00:42:15] I will, yeah, I'll, start jotting notes down when I see cool new stuff from them or anyone for that matter. Yep.
[00:42:22] You too, Dave. Okay.
[00:42:25] Apparently this is some news that I saw on Facebook. Apparently SIG is all moved into their new, their new digs up in Chicago and are fulfilling orders in small amounts. But, yeah, I saw some, some guys online are starting to get stuff from SIG again. So that's awesome news.
[00:42:42] I hope that actually.
[00:42:44] Yeah.
[00:42:45] Takes off.
[00:42:45] Me too.
[00:42:46] For lack of a better word. But what I mean? Like, I, I just, I hope they're successful.
[00:42:50] Yeah. Me too. A lot of great products.
[00:42:52] Yeah.
[00:42:53] And not just airplanes. Like, like their hardware. I like their hardware. Obviously they, I'm not sure if they're going to get back into the balsa wood game because of the, the global shortage that at least the, they're telling us anyway.
[00:43:05] Yeah.
[00:43:05] But like a lot of their other products, like, SIG sticks it. Great product. Can't wait to get it again.
[00:43:11] Yeah. Hopefully.
[00:43:13] Yeah.
[00:43:14] I mean, like it's, it's, I, I hate seeing things unavailable anymore. Yeah. Like the woodpecker is a classic example. Like that's a tool that really fulfills one purpose. I'm kind of glad you can't get them anymore. I mean, like I want one and I don't have. I'll sell you this one.
[00:43:29] Okay. You can, you can buy this one. It'll only cost you the yak out there.
[00:43:33] Oh, not even. I mean. I'll throw in a box of band-aids. Right. I thought you were being serious. No, I'm not being serious. No, I mean like at first when you say you sell it to me. Oh, no. No, it's fine.
[00:43:42] I'll hang on to it.
[00:43:43] You'll find one at a swap. Well, and that's what I mean. Like I want to keep my eye out for that. Just make sure it's not rusty. Why? Because you don't want to get poked with a rust. Tetanus. Yeah.
[00:43:51] Yeah.
[00:43:52] Tetanus. Thanks, Dave. I'm hoping they have one in Toledo.
[00:43:57] I would be surprised if you didn't see three or four of them there.
[00:44:01] That's, that would be, that would make me happy.
[00:44:04] Okay. So if you're going to Toledo, bring your woodpeckers and charge a premium for them.
[00:44:10] No, don't charge a premium. Like I'm broke.
[00:44:12] Ron really wants one.
[00:44:13] Why are you yelling now? I don't understand that. That was loud. I do want one, but I want a cheap one.
[00:44:20] Yeah.
[00:44:20] Actually, I don't even know what those sold for to begin with. I don't remember. Around 20, 25 bucks. That's what I was thinking. 20 bucks for some reason came to my mind. I sold a bunch of them at one point. Well, I can imagine. That's just one of the tools that does the job it needs to do. Well, Dave has one. No, he does not. No, you don't? I thought you did.
[00:44:39] No, I won't go anywhere near one of those torcher weapons.
[00:44:42] Wow.
[00:44:43] Okay. Tool of the week.
[00:44:46] There you go. Once again, that Dave won't touch.
[00:44:50] Yep.
[00:44:50] Because I've touched him too many times.
[00:44:53] Hey, so I've got a note here. Are you done talking about Horizon?
[00:44:56] Yeah.
[00:44:57] Are you sure?
[00:44:59] Yes.
[00:45:01] I just wanted to say thanks to Terry Dunn. I forgot to thank him a couple of episodes ago for the decals, the RC Roundtable decals. So, Terry, thank you for the decals. I appreciate that. One of them is proudly on my flight box, and I have not decided what to do with the other one.
[00:45:17] Mine too.
[00:45:17] Yeah.
[00:45:19] So, that was back when we met up with him, and you couldn't go again.
[00:45:24] Yeah, Terry would say I was avoiding him, but I promise that's not what it is.
[00:45:28] Well, I told him you were. I know you did. Thanks. That's a fun thing when you're not there. I can make up a lot of stories. Yeah. Tommy does not exist in real life.
[00:45:37] Yeah.
[00:45:38] He's not high.
[00:45:39] I am a figment of your imagination.
[00:45:44] Is that all you want to say on that?
[00:45:45] Yeah. I just wanted to thank Terry for the decals. So, I did. So, now we can move on.
[00:45:49] So, a while ago, we talked about, jokingly, adding up the number of feet on wingspans of all our airplanes. You guys are just, I had a few minutes of downtime where I couldn't work.
[00:46:10] Why are you yelling?
[00:46:11] I didn't know I was. Sorry. I had a few minutes of downtime when I couldn't, like, not at home when I was. Now nobody can hear you. So, I went ahead on my spreadsheet and added that whole column so it can automatically.
[00:46:24] We did get a question from a listener survey that said that they would like to know what information was on our spreadsheets. So, there you go. Ron's spreadsheet contains a column of wingspan.
[00:46:35] My spreadsheet contains.
[00:46:37] So, he can accumulate them. So, he can add them all together into a ginormous number because he cheats.
[00:46:46] How do I cheat?
[00:46:48] Well, you buy 21-foot gliders.
[00:46:50] Doesn't matter.
[00:46:51] It's still an airplane.
[00:46:53] So, I was thinking about this. Okay. Biplanes. Triplanes. Do you add them together or just the main span?
[00:47:00] Nope. You add them all together. If Ron's going to cheat, we're going to cheat.
[00:47:03] It's not cheating. It's cheating. My triplane. Is it three wings?
[00:47:07] Three wings.
[00:47:07] Do I add in the one between the wheels?
[00:47:10] Of course. It's an airfoil.
[00:47:12] So, that's an extra foot right there.
[00:47:13] Exactly. That's a good question that I don't agree with your answer on.
[00:47:19] It's a wing.
[00:47:20] It produces lift. It's the wingspan of your airplanes added together is what I did. Although, I own zero biplanes. So, I guess it doesn't matter. So, my overall wingspan. You guys want to know? Are you ready?
[00:47:36] Sure.
[00:47:37] You don't care.
[00:47:39] Cheater.
[00:47:41] 250.9 feet. I lined everything up next to each other. 250.9 feet. That's like the size of like a, what a, airplanes.
[00:47:51] Almost a football field.
[00:47:53] What about like an airplane? What about a wingspan?
[00:47:55] 250 feet?
[00:47:57] That's up there with airliner size.
[00:47:58] Yeah, that's, I don't know, probably an A380-ish.
[00:48:01] Yeah, big airliner.
[00:48:02] Yeah. Maybe an A7. 787, maybe.
[00:48:06] What's like the C130 Galaxy wingspan, do?
[00:48:09] C130 Galaxy?
[00:48:11] What is that now? C130 Galaxy.
[00:48:13] Hercules. Hercules.
[00:48:14] Hercules. Hercules. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry. Sorry.
[00:48:18] I don't know. I don't have wingspans memorized. Probably should, but I…
[00:48:22] Google A380 wingspan and see what comes up.
[00:48:27] Oh, the C130 is only 132 feet. I was going to say, it's around 130. Oh, okay. C5.
[00:48:32] C5 Galaxy.
[00:48:33] C5 Galaxy. Wingspan. 222 feet, 9 inches. Oh, my God. Like, that's a huge one we saw up at Oshkosh. And that is ginormous. What's the, what was the other one? A380. Oh, A380.
[00:48:51] Yeah, A380 is smaller than that, I bet.
[00:48:53] Yeah, A380 wingspan.
[00:48:56] Yeah, I think it is.
[00:48:56] Although I'm not… 200 and… Nope, there we go. 261 feet, 8 inches. So I'm not… That's an A380? A380. Really? I'm not as big as an A380. I'm not a really Airbus fan, so I'm… Wow.
[00:49:07] So there you go.
[00:49:08] Yeah. That was my boredom time where I had…
[00:49:11] And how many airplanes is that to come up to that number?
[00:49:15] Like, what's your number? And then give us an average. Well, that's a good idea. I didn't do that. That's 72 airplanes. So where's my… That's a lot of airplanes to manage. Well, 250.9.
[00:49:34] You can call yourself a fleet manager, like at that point, right?
[00:49:37] Yeah.
[00:49:38] I would think because, I mean, you have to maintain all those airplanes. You have to make sure they're all ready to fly. You have to remember what batteries are in which ones.
[00:49:46] Yeah, I mean… Well, that's what the…
[00:49:47] You're like a…
[00:49:48] That's what the spreadsheet is for.
[00:49:49] You're like a fleet manager. Because I would not remember otherwise.
[00:49:53] Yeah. So that is an average of 3.48 feet per airplane. So that's really skewed things.
[00:50:01] Yeah.
[00:50:02] Yeah.
[00:50:03] Yeah.
[00:50:04] Plus, a lot of the ones I'm going to be getting rid of will remove from that list. By… When I say a lot, I mean, like, probably…
[00:50:10] One.
[00:50:11] Well, I was going to say three. But maybe. So that was…
[00:50:17] Yeah. When we go to Dayton, I'm in sell mode.
[00:50:21] So… Me too. But I don't have a lot of stuff to sell.
[00:50:23] I got to go pick my next three decks. You have a lot of stuff you could sell.
[00:50:27] Maybe you'll have to go through it with me. Maybe that's what I need. Like a…
[00:50:31] Ron, you don't need this. Ron, you don't…
[00:50:33] Exactly. You don't fly this. You don't need this. Right. I could probably whittle it down, honestly, to… That hurts. To 20 airplanes. You should see the face of that. No, you can't. No, you can't. I probably could. You won't. I probably won't. But I'm just saying, like, how many do you really… When you start seeing 50 airplanes leave… Yeah. Then, yeah.
[00:50:55] Like…
[00:50:56] I could probably get rid of 10 or 15 without losing a lot of sleep.
[00:50:59] I would love to get to a point where I had, like, five airplanes that I'd just fly the snot out of. But I have this weird… I don't want to say emotional connection, but I just have this weird connection to some of these airplanes I just can't get rid of. what I mean? Like, every one of them seems… No, I get it. Every one of them seems like it has a story. Like, the contender. I mean, we've had contenders forever. I can't get rid of the contender. Your T-34. Nope.
[00:51:33] That means something to me. I can't… You gave that to me. I can't get rid of that.
[00:51:36] You're talking to Dave, by the way.
[00:51:37] Yeah. Dave. Sorry. the Kristen Eagle that I got to… that Jim gave me. I can't get rid of that.
[00:51:45] You still have that F-4 bag of parts.
[00:51:48] I know. I can't get rid of that. I can't just throw it away. It's just… Just get it, and I'll cut a new one. Ah, you're busy. I mean, eventually, yes, I would love that. Yeah, I would love to have another F-4. Man, they fly good. Yours did. That's right. Yeah, yours was always wonky.
[00:52:05] Yeah.
[00:52:06] See, and that's another reason I don't want to, like… Just because it always,… Well, if it's messed up, it might be wonky with a rebuild. Yeah, maybe.
[00:52:14] I don't know. The chunks are large. So, talk about what you're talking about, because I kind of know, and nobody else knows.
[00:52:22] So, they're for a pretty good stretch there. Dave was producing for his friends and himself. I called them the Foam Air Force. They're flat… Sorry. They're flat foam airplanes, but they're, like, not flat foamies. Not like…
[00:52:40] They're full fuselage.
[00:52:41] Yeah. They're built up out of flat foam. There. That's what I meant to say.
[00:52:44] Well, it's extruded polystyrene, right? The blue foam? It's the insulation.
[00:52:49] Yeah, foam insulation. He's using it as a building material to build three-dimensional, actual… So, he built… it started with… For me, anyway, it started with an F-15 that flew awesome. And then it was the F-4, and then it was the T-38, and then it was the MiG-21. And they're all about the same size, roughly, what, 20-ish?
[00:53:11] 20-inch-ish.
[00:53:12] Wingspan. But they fly awesome. They're electric little pushers, four-channel, fairly inexpensive. Yeah, you could probably buy the power system off Amazon now, probably, for 20 bucks, probably. But they fly awesome. And so, one of them is an F-4 Phantom that you helped me launch one day. We've talked about this.
[00:53:34] God, that's that one? Yeah. Is that one? I didn't know that. Oh. I would not have brought that up had I realized that's one.
[00:53:41] Yeah, it's the one you helped me launch. So, that now needs, it's in the five large chunks. Yeah. So, anyway, yeah, I have a hard time getting rid of airplanes. That means something to me.
[53:55] UNKNOWN: That was years ago.[00:53:56] That was last summer before last.
[00:53:58] That's years ago.
[00:53:59] I always forget, like, I didn't do anything last summer.
[00:54:02] Yeah.
[00:54:02] But, yeah. So, I am in cell mode, though. I am going to take several good airplanes to Dayton to get rid of.
[00:54:12] Yeah.
[00:54:13] That spot, the 50cc S-Bach is on the chopping block. That hurts. The Dave Patrick Ultimate, I think I'm going to take that to get rid of you, even though I love that airplane.
[00:54:22] That hurts.
[00:54:22] The Sato 150 fly is awesome. Probably going to take the 30cc S-Bach also.
[00:54:29] That hurts.
[00:54:30] Which is also a really nice airplane.
[00:54:31] It is.
[00:54:32] Flies really good.
[00:54:33] That surprises me.
[00:54:34] Yeah. I just, I've got too many.
[00:54:37] Those seem like airplanes that you would have to fly a lot.
[00:54:41] No. I mean, yes, but I'm hoping the Beast becomes, like, a number one and then follow closely behind by the double vision. I'm really hoping to fly the snot out of those two airplanes. And then, of course, the other, the electrics that we do, too.
[00:54:58] But you need a monoplane. I mean, you need. Because biplanes are just.
[00:55:03] Awesome?
[00:55:04] Too many wings.
[00:55:06] Biplanes are awesome.
[00:55:07] I guess. I don't know.
[00:55:09] But we'll see. Anyway. Yeah. Trailer or something we're going to need to take what I'm going to sell.
[00:55:16] Oh, we can.
[00:55:17] And then I'll have boxes of stuff, too. I've already started. I've already started compiling a box of stuff to take to date. Servos receive just stuff I'm not using.
[00:55:27] Yeah.
[00:55:27] And stuff that I, won't use probably in the next 10 years. May as well, get something out of it and somebody else can use it,?
[00:55:34] Yeah. I mean, yeah, that's good. That's what you need to do, I guess. But I just. We'll see. You're right. We don't need.
[00:55:41] Dave is selling, too. He's going to Toledo with a truckload of stuff.
[00:55:45] Yeah. Yeah. I need somebody to go through my garage and say, this needs to go, this needs to go, this needs to go.
[00:55:49] I think, honestly, I think we probably ought to have a day coming up to where we just do that. Go out to Dave's house, do that. Come here, do that. But I could probably be talked out of a lot of airplanes that I'm on the fence about keeping. And if it's just me looking at it, I would be like, it's not costing me anything. Just leave it here. But look around.
[00:56:09] Yeah. But you can turn that into space. Things have to change. For other airplanes.
[00:56:12] I get it. Yeah. Like, I literally, there are too many airplanes. Like, I had it cleaned up for Christmas.
[00:56:21] You did?
[00:56:21] What happened? Well, there was a single. It was hidden. What happened? I got more airplanes.
[00:56:26] Oh.
[00:56:28] And started working on them.
[00:56:30] What a byproduct of buying airplanes is? Buying more airplanes.
[00:56:35] You're N plus one, right? Mm-hmm. That's unfortunately being proven.
[00:56:39] Yep. Yeah. So, anyway.
[00:56:42] I wanted to say, too, you are now a member at Eli Field.
[00:56:45] I did. I joined the Monticello Model Masters Club.
[00:56:49] Mm-hmm.
[00:56:50] I look forward to flying there a lot, hopefully, this year. Mm-hmm. Since I didn't get to fly there once last year. and hopefully, I'll be flying the Beast there a lot. Yeah. That's my hope.
[00:57:01] That'll be fun.
[00:57:02] Yeah. You also, big news.
[00:57:08] You can say it.
[00:57:09] Can I?
[00:57:10] Yeah.
[00:57:10] Are you sure you don't want it to come from you?
[00:57:12] No. It's okay.
[00:57:13] Ron is the new vice president of the Monticello Model Masters Club.
[00:57:18] I am.
[00:57:19] Yeah. That's exciting to me.
[00:57:22] It's scary to me. It'll be fine. Yeah.
[00:57:25] Yeah. It's a good bunch of guys.
[00:57:27] Yeah. That's what makes it worthwhile. Yeah.
[00:57:30] And it seems like lots of help should you need it.
[00:57:32] Yeah. With the guys, the previous, officers.
[00:57:36] So, yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing how it shakes out.
[00:57:39] Yeah. Yeah. Me too. Took your CD test. I did. So. You'll be a contest director. I will be getting that taken care of soon.
[00:57:47] Isn't that weird how he was trying to talk you into taking over our club and now he's a VP of another club? Isn't that weird, Dave?
[00:57:54] I still think it would be nice if he did that, but yeah. I don't have time. I don't either. I can barely fly.
[00:58:00] Yeah. I totally get it.
[00:58:03] For this kind of stuff, like, honestly, I will make time for what I need to do. It's just, I mean, what's another thing?
[00:58:09] I think having that accountability, like, knowing that somebody is depending on you to produce, whatever, a document or whatever, I think that will be the motivation you need to keep you going, I think. Like, you mentioned you're kind of in a building slump, can we call it that? Yeah, absolutely. But you don't, like, there's no, you don't, like, have anybody or any reason to hurry. not really.
[00:58:34] Yeah.
[00:58:34] I mean, yeah, the glider tow, it'd be nice to have a glider done by then. And then, I mean, there's time or whatever, but like I, with the club, the vice president, the club officer thing, I think you'll have motivation because you'll, you
[00:58:48] Know, you'll have do outs. So I'll be forced to be around it more. Yeah, exactly. Yeah.
[00:58:52] And maybe that'll, maybe that'll translate into working down here in the basement too.
[00:58:56] And honestly, like going to the meetings and stuff is, that's always a, a boost for me. Like by the time I get home, it's like, I'm, I feel like I'm ready to do something. Unfortunately, by that time, it's very late. Yeah. And I need to go to sleep. Maybe when I need, well, I couldn't every time, but maybe it would be a good idea to take the next day off sometimes with that, because then I would be able to stay up like all night and then sleep the next day.
[00:59:22] Maybe.
[00:59:23] But anyway, no, so it's going to be fun. We have a lot of events that we're going to be planning for this year.
[00:59:27] Yeah.
[00:59:29] Actually quite a few. Yeah. That I'm excited about.
[00:59:32] Me too. Yeah. That were, I'm sorry, go ahead.
[00:59:34] No, I was just going to say that some will be right up your alley.
[00:59:37] Yes.
[00:59:38] And I'm, I'm.
[00:59:39] And Dave's.
[00:59:40] Yeah. He just rolls his eyes.
[00:59:42] If he can make it. Like, like, so we're, we're, can I talk about it? I can talk about it, right? Yeah.
[00:59:48] You can talk about it.
[00:59:48] So we talked about, in addition to their normal events, like, RC Fest and Glider Toe and Illini.
[00:59:54] Well, RC Fest is Horizon.
[00:59:55] Well, right. But it's at Eli.
[00:59:57] It's at Eli, but it's not.
[00:59:58] And the club helps, right?
[00:59:59] But it's not put on or sponsored by the club.
[01:00:02] Sorry. Illini Toe. Yes.
[01:00:04] Or. The Toe. Eli Toe. Yeah.
[01:00:08] Eli Toe, Illini Jets. And then there's like a Warbirds and Classics meet that they're going to do. And they're also talking about, and I'm, I offered to help, doing like a 81 and below event. Like, so it would just be 81 inches and below.
[01:00:23] Anything not giant scale.
[01:00:25] Yeah.
[01:00:25] Is allowed.
[01:00:26] But you could, you could fly electric. You could fly nitro. Nitro would be a place for me to take, maybe a nitro plane to fly or a small gasser. Although they were not thinking that initially.
[1:00:36] UNKNOWN: I know.[01:00:37] They were, they were thinking electric only, but I, hopefully I've talked them out of that. But anyway, it would be just like, just like the fun flies we used to have here. Just kind of run what you brung, as long as it's not 81 inches or bigger and just fly. Just a day of flying and maybe, maybe arrange some, spot landing competition or maybe a bomb drop or a candy drop or something. Like that sort of thing is what I get excited about.
[01:01:03] Yeah. And I've never done anything like that. So I think that would be a lot of fun. Yeah.
[01:01:06] So I'm, I'm looking forward to that one probably more than any of the others. Streamer, maybe not a streamer cutting event, but maybe a limbo like event, like something different. Fun flight type stuff like we used to do. Like when I, way back in the day.
[01:01:19] So bring it back.
[01:01:20] Yeah. And with the airplanes we have today, could you imagine how many, like, how many landings can you do in a minute? Like you remember, you remember that competition? Like before it was like nitrate, you'd have to, you couldn't do very many, but with today's airplanes, man, you could, you take off in six feet and then just do loops, and just land.
[01:01:37] I used to do the roops. Yeah.
[01:01:39] Yeah.
[01:01:40] Do what? Roops.
[01:01:42] What's, I don't know what that is.
[01:01:43] Rolling loops. The bottom of the loop would, you'd touch down.
[01:01:47] Oh, that's pretty, that would be difficult.
[01:01:49] Yeah. So, no, I'm excited. Like, events like that, I think are, I think are a lot of fun. And they, I think they, they, I don't want to say cater, but I think they are interesting to a wider audience than say glider tow or Illini jets or whatever. what I mean? Because the entry fee, not fee, but the cost of entry into an Illini jets event.
[01:02:16] Is quite high. You have to have a jet.
[01:02:18] Yeah. So.
[01:02:19] No, I get it.
[01:02:20] What I mean? So I think that would appeal to a broader audience.
[01:02:23] Yeah.
[01:02:23] And maybe, maybe generate more revenue or at least some revenue for the club.
[01:02:27] And those are things too, by the way, we can do not at an event. We can just take whatever airplane or airplane you want over there to fly.
[01:02:33] Oh, I know.
[01:02:34] Yeah. I mean, we'll, we'll probably spend, like, I want to spend a lot of time flying this year. Me too. That's what I say a lot of times, but like, I'm very serious this year about getting more flights and getting more quality flights. Yeah. And like, I've gotten a few flights in around here, but instead of just flying around, I've been trying.
[01:02:53] To bump up your number.
[01:02:54] No, that's not. Any flight is a good flight that you land at. But I have been trying to practice like slow rolls. And that kind of stuff.
[01:03:06] Having a plan for each flight.
[01:03:07] Right.
[01:03:08] Yep.
[01:03:09] As opposed to just enjoying the flight.
[01:03:11] Like what I really would like to do this year is like, let's say the double vision. Let's say I know from the manual that it has roll coupling.
[01:03:21] What does that mean?
[01:03:22] It means when you, if you just deflect the ailerons, it tends to want to couple the rudder. Like it'll want to yaw one way or the other. I would like to spend time with that airplane, just take that airplane and that airplane alone to the field, fly it a lot and, dial in the mixes to help, take that sort of tendency out of it via programming. what I mean?
[01:03:47] I mean, that's, that's the sort of things I would like to work on this year, which ultimately will kind of satisfy my personal goal of becoming a better pilot.
[01:03:57] Yeah.
[01:03:57] What I mean? Spending more quality time with individual airplanes as opposed to taking five airplanes to the field and flying five different airplanes.
[01:04:06] Yeah.
[01:04:06] What I mean?
[01:04:07] Yeah. Does that make sense what I'm saying? It does. Like I had thought about trying to fly every airplane I own this year.
[01:04:13] That's not my goal this year.
[01:04:14] But I'm walking back from that. Yeah. Like that might be a next year goal. That might be the year after goal. But there are some that, I mean, honestly, if I haven't flown for a while, maybe it's time to get rid of them.
[01:04:25] And if you make your numbers smaller, it makes that goal easier.
[01:04:31] What? Less airplanes, less flights. Yeah.
[01:04:35] The fewer airplanes you have, the fewer you have to fly. So you can fly all of your airplanes if you have less.
[01:04:40] If you have seven, it's a lot easier than if you… I thought, yeah. Yeah.
[01:04:44] Just saying.
[01:04:44] I know.
[01:04:45] But anyway, yeah.
[01:04:46] Things change.
[01:04:47] Yeah.
[01:04:47] My mood now is get rid of… So vice president. Yeah. Self club. I like it. But by the time I go to a swap meet and see airplanes for sale, then I turn into a buyer. So I don't know.
[01:04:59] Yeah.
[01:05:00] Yeah. Going to be a good year. We'll see. Yeah.
[01:05:02] I'm really looking forward to it. I'm really… And this is kind of… You will disagree. And I think Dave is kind of like me. We like seeing people like at the shows and stuff. So I'm looking forward to getting out there and talking to our listeners like at Dayton. And you're going to go to Toledo. And Dave will talk to people at Toledo. And we'll go to Joe Nall. And man, that's going to be…
[01:05:28] Yeah. It's going to be a good year.
[01:05:31] So I'm really looking forward to talking to you guys. Not you two. I talk to you guys all the time. But like our listeners.
[01:05:37] I really enjoy… Come up and say hi.
[01:05:38] Yeah.
[01:05:39] See in the faces.
[01:05:40] Yeah. I'll be in my RC Plain Lab shirt slash sweatshirt, wherever we're at. Don't be afraid to come and say hello. And I'm easy to pick out. Yeah. He's the guy with one leg. So I don't see too many of those at the field normally.
[01:05:53] There's not many of those when we go out places. Surprisingly, there's more of us than you think. Most people have prosthetics.
[01:05:59] Oh, well.
[01:06:00] Yeah. I'll go buy you a stick.
[01:06:03] Well, he's got two sticks he walks around with. So you don't have to buy them any.
[01:06:07] Titanium.
[01:06:08] Nice.
[01:06:09] So anyway, yeah, it's going to be a fun year. I'm looking forward to it. I cannot wait for good weather to get here so we can start the flying.
[01:06:15] Yeah. No, 61 tomorrow. I know. 64 today. I'm going to run the beast. No, was it really?
[01:06:21] Yeah. Yeah, I checked at 2 o'clock and it was 64 degrees.
[01:06:24] It felt very nice.
[01:06:25] It was like gusting to 35 today.
[01:06:28] I thought it was more than that, but it was ridiculous. Well, it might have been.
[01:06:30] At least at the airport it was 35, but it felt like more.
[01:06:33] Yeah, when it was supposed to be 30 to 40 was higher, I guess, possibly.
[01:06:37] Well, that's par for the course. I think we ran into this last spring.
[01:06:41] And the clouds north of your house had lightning when I pulled up. Oh, really? Yeah. Awesome.
[01:06:46] It was supposed to rain?
[01:06:46] Yeah, it was supposed to rain. Oh, I didn't know that. It's late this evening.
[01:06:51] Well, anyway, we'll see. I will take, if I'm able to run the beast tomorrow, I'll take some video and I'll put
[01:06:59] That up on our Facebook page.
[01:07:02] So if anybody wants to see, hopefully the firewall stays on it.
[01:07:06] I want to see, especially if it doesn't. I know.
[01:07:10] I know. That's really the main reason I would want to take videos.
[01:07:14] The firewall doesn't scare me. It's the upper wing and the Cobain struts. I know you repaired them well, but those are the ones that worry me staying put.
[01:07:21] Yep. I mean, there is concern all around on my part for all of the areas that I touched, but.
[01:07:27] I want to be there when you fly it first.
[01:07:29] Okay. I will need somebody there to help me with the startup and all that kind of stuff. Somebody's got to hang out with that beast. Nice. Oh, gosh.
[01:07:38] Okay. Don't let my brother near it, though. He'll step on it.
[01:07:41] Oh. Or the dogs around it, they'll eat it. I don't think they'll eat it. Mac won't eat it. Or Fred, won't you? Now I'm doing it.
[01:07:52] Mac was my older dog. Yes. And I lost a few years ago. Yeah.
[01:07:56] So anyway, yeah. Exciting times. Let's go flying.
[01:08:00] Let's do it. I wish. We did that, by the way. I forgot we were going to, I want to talk about that. We flew a little bit after we recorded last time. One flight. That was more failure than anything. I don't know. I flew. One flight cost me four propellers. Yeah, that's crazy.
[01:08:20] So Dave flew his UMX Alltricks.
[01:08:22] And you did too, right?
[01:08:23] That was the only one you flew?
[01:08:25] Was that? Yeah.
[01:08:26] I think that was it. It was too windy for the… Yeah, because I was going to fly the Mustang. It was just way too windy for that.
[1:08:30] UNKNOWN: Yeah.[01:08:31] But I flew the UMX Turbo Timber, and it flew okay.
[01:08:33] You flew it for about 30 seconds.
[01:08:35] No, it was a full flight. It was five… It was over five minutes.
[01:08:40] Really?
[01:08:40] Yeah. And then my fingers were frozen. Yeah, it was cold. It was colder than I thought it was. It didn't seem like it was that cold. It was just windy. Yeah.
[01:08:48] Which sucks, to be honest. So you guys did not see it, but my first attempt to fly the Alltricks… I heard it. Well, you heard it, but the reason it crashed is I lost my balance and fell over. Oh, that I did not see. Yeah, so you guys missed that.
[01:09:03] I heard the crutches on the ground. I was like, oh, Dave's down. What was I… Was I flying too then? You must have been, yeah.
[01:09:10] I was going to say, because normally I think I would have at least heard or seen something.
[01:09:14] That's when it flew into the guardrail thing.
[01:09:16] Yeah, I tossed it and immediately fell over, and I couldn't… It's like, okay, try to catch myself or try to fly.
[01:09:23] I mean, I hate to laugh, but the way you said that, I lost it and I immediately fell over. And that's pretty much exactly what happened, because I was flying, and I heard it. And I knew you were down, because I could hear the crutches bouncing on the ground. I was like, oh, Dave's down. But I was flying, and it's like I couldn't go over and help him or anything. By the time I landed, he would have already been up anyways.
[01:09:48] I got the throttle cut, but apparently it didn't go all the way down, because they were still turning when I hit the ground.
[01:09:53] Oh, and it chewed up both crops?
[01:09:54] It chewed up both crops, yeah.
[01:09:55] So what happened to the second ones?
[01:09:57] I just didn't toss it hard enough. Being in cold weather, it didn't have the phone. That's why I was going to say, you guys both had issues with that.
[01:10:04] They didn't seem like they were spooling up the way they…
[01:10:07] No, and it just kind of mushed into the ground, and of course, trying to keep it going.
[01:10:10] And mine was really sluggish. Like, the control was sluggish. Like, the grease in the servos was thick or something.
[01:10:17] Yeah, it was like the F-105 on New Year's. It was really sluggish.
[01:10:20] Yeah, exactly.
[01:10:22] And it was weird, because you could hear the motors were not spooling up as fast as they were. And you could tell, because I launched Dave Swarm once, and normally with that one, you don't even let go of it, or you don't even throw it. You just kind of point in the direction you wanted to go. Yeah, you just let it sit on your palm, and it takes off on its own.
[01:10:40] Well, this time, I actually threw it a little bit, and it still didn't have enough power to get him airborne before he landed on the ground.
[01:10:47] Yeah, mine was a little sluggish, too. Propellers again.
[01:10:49] Yeah. So…
[01:10:50] Do you need some? I still… I think I have.
[01:10:52] I've got one bag left.
[01:10:53] Okay. I probably ought to order some. It wouldn't hurt.
[1:10:56] UNKNOWN: Yeah.[01:10:56] It was something else I was going to order, too. I can't remember what it was, but yeah.
[01:11:00] I've got to order arms.
[01:11:01] Sorry. Random thought.
[01:11:03] Like, servo arms? Yeah. Oh. Yeah, because I didn't get any with my servos.
[01:11:09] What do you expect? Correct. Gosh.
[01:11:13] Beggars can't be choosers. Well, not beggars. I think I'm just going to put Dubro arms on them. I love those Dubro arms. Yeah, those Dubro arms are… They're not terribly long, but I… I mean, let's face it. I'm not, like, a 3D pilot, so… They're cheap. They're stiff. Yeah.
[01:11:25] You mean the…
[01:11:25] On the beast.
[01:11:25] The sets that you can get that are, like… The glass fiber ones.
[01:11:28] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They're nice and heavy-duty.
[01:11:30] I might have. I've never had one of those fail, even in a massive crash.
[01:11:34] Yeah.
[01:11:34] Me, too. So, you're using JR 8711s. Are those the same size and everything as, like, a Spectrum servo? Yeah, they're Spectrum splines. I'm sure I've got servo arms around. I think I have. I think I have some. Because I didn't use any of the ones that came with the… What is it? The A3000s or whatever the hell it was that I put in there. Yeah. Or in the glider. They came with a bunch of them, and I had to…
[01:11:59] I actually, to get it long enough to where it would come out of the wing and match the other ones, they had the round ones that came with it. I had to take those and cut them down to where… So, there, yeah. Yeah.
[01:12:12] Just to draw your own hole, too?
[01:12:13] No, the hole lined up okay. Oh, good. But that was the only servo arm I had. Like I said, out of everything that came with them, that was long enough. That was long enough, yeah. In order to clear the…
[01:12:22] So, you cut off 325 degrees of the arm?
[01:12:26] Yeah, probably. Not a little bit more than that. Yeah. Because, I just went up to…
[01:12:31] Yes.
[01:12:32] …a small point. Right. Well, not a point, but a rounded point. So, it just looks like a small piece of pizza.
[01:12:37] Cool. Nice.
[01:12:38] But anyway.
[01:12:39] Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Well, that's all I got.
[01:12:42] Anything else you guys want to talk about? No. We're good.
[01:12:43] We can…
[01:12:44] Okay.
[01:12:45] We can do that. The listener questions maybe on the next episode.
[01:12:50] Or the one after that. Or the one after that. It all depends. I mean, those are ones that I think we're holding out to when we have nothing to talk about.
[01:12:55] Well, we didn't really have anything to talk about this time, but we've managed to… Yeah, we're over an hour….turn it into over an hour.
[01:13:02] So, I think it's time for…
[01:13:03] So, we'll have some quality content next time. Yeah.
[01:13:05] Time will tell.
[01:13:06] Yeah.
[01:13:07] All right. Anything else then?
[01:13:09] Dave? No, I'm good. I'm sorry. My heart… I got a heart monitor on, and it is itching, like, crazy.
[01:13:18] That face is just…
[01:13:21] Dave is scratching his boobs. I'm just saying. I'm just putting that image out there. Dave is scratching his…
[01:13:28] And I don't have my glasses on, so I couldn't tell if it was a smile or a grimace.
[01:13:31] I think it was kind of a both.
[01:13:32] It's a little of both right now, because…
[01:13:34] I think it was pain and pleasure all at the same time. Oh. So, yeah, kind of a grimace and a smile.
[01:13:40] Very nice way to end the episode. Sorry, guys. All right. Well, in that case, I'm going to get to sit up here. Anything else we good?
[01:13:50] I'm good. That's all I got. Tool of the week, woodpecker. Use caution when using them.
[01:13:56] Has a purpose. Yeah. Not in my life. Right.
[01:13:59] Also, before we go, sorry, I'll hit this up. I'm almost done with the Beast 100cc build-slash-repair log on our website. So, if you want to see all the stuff I had to do to it, you can find that on the website. Likewise, when Ron gets his glider update, you can see what all kind of stuff he had to do. Way to throw shade.
[01:14:24] No, I'm just saying…
[01:14:25] Whenever he does something, don't put it up there. When you get it updated, it will be…
[01:14:28] There's still some on there. Yeah.
[01:14:31] There's a good start on there.
[01:14:35] Any other things… And Dave, how's that East Creek going? Yeah. Right. Well, it's been fun. Until next time, I'm Ron. I'm Tom. And I'm Dave. Good night. Good night, everybody.
