[00:00:04] Hello everyone and welcome to the rc plane led podcast i'm ron that's ron mr squeaky microphone

[00:00:17] Over there i'm tom that's weird you don't own any oil oh that's right he has electric car

[00:00:22] No oil no oil mr squeaky microphone stand over there yes and i'm tom and i'm dave there we go

[00:00:32] Okay thank you for making fun of me anytime anything else you want to say before we get started no hey everybody hello hi okay so we are now unfortunately officially under the full remote

[00:00:52] Id rules yeah i mean said it before as long as you fly at a freya you don't have to worry about

[00:01:01] It right so there's that so what does it mean what does it mean not much yeah good luck and i mean well no but like seriously most of the time i'm flying at a freya yeah almost almost all the time when i fly anything of decent size so if you fly there doesn't matter if you fly under 250 grams doesn't matter doesn't matter so all the umx stuff yeah i was gonna say which by the

[00:01:32] Way 250 grams is what about a half a pound roughly maybe just to take over i don't think i don't i

[00:01:39] Don't know but anyway it's very light is it 2.2 pounds per kilogram yes so a quarter kilogram so just over two or just over a half pound then yeah right yep it's what you said isn't it exactly well there we go it's been verified by my math brain

[00:01:57] Your math brain yes i said math not math so if you fly at a freya site fine under 250 grams fine indoors fine indoors fine non-freya site but an ama sanctioned event you're fine you're covered so float flies and that type of thing yeah so as long as you're under the ama rules under the umbrella umbrella there's a sanctioned event you don't have to worry about it either even if it's not a freya site the only time it's going to get you obviously is over 250 grams and somewhere

[00:02:30] Not a freya which would be my house no east reek at home but you can if you have the sky id

[00:02:39] Or other brand remote id module is there anybody else doing them yet flight test has one oh do they

[00:02:48] Okay i think there's another one out too that i don't know who it was right off hand but i think there's three like three decently main players are they all about same price probably yeah nowhere near the 30 bucks or whatever they promised at the beginning i love how they say oh it's gonna be 30 bucks yeah we have no clue what actually has to go into it right i'm gonna make a promise for other businesses to hold up yes right i think the typical government fashion and you'll have to check to be sure but i think the flight test one is about the same price as horizons i think it's about 100

[00:03:21] Bucks and honestly i think it does about the same thing so yeah there you go i got one yeah just because i want to see how it worked eh i mean like i i've flown here with it on the slow ultra stick just to see how it worked what it does and it didn't i mean it really doesn't do anything

[00:03:47] I mean it does what it needs to do but for what i was wanting to see now having said that i didn't have it plugged into a serial port so i wasn't getting the extra data back to my transmitter i was just getting the plain old dumb signal that was coming out of it and when i checked on my phone it does give you information on height trajectory speed all that kind of stuff yeah

[00:04:12] That's what i was gonna ask if you if you opened it up in the in the fa drone zone app or whatever it

[00:04:18] Is now it wasn't in that the only way you can well i think there's more than one app but i think the one i used was don't remember talk amongst yourselves dave i won't be buying one catch me

[00:04:36] If you can yeah well and that's the thing movie that like how how how are they gonna i've backed up and gone by the time yeah i mean the the only well not only i mean there's lots of ways probably to get in trouble with this but you just got to do something stupid well that or somebody complains yeah right like you're you're flying at the church let's say like reggie likes to do and i like to go and fly there for them sometimes i suppose somebody there complains about the airplanes and the

[00:05:06] The electric airplanes that are buzzing around the sky around no houses there's like no houses where we fly there maybe some maybe a cop would come and check it out i highly doubt it they're not going to know anyway yeah yet right i mean yeah and here's the thing like obviously i can't speak for everybody but a cop shows up well i mean when when i was flying with reggie last time at the church some

[00:05:36] People showed up watched and asked questions hey that's really cool and and then they left and then like shortly thereafter a cop comes in and just kind of looking around and he leaves it's like i i if you're not doing something really dumb you're not trying to break into school you're fine yeah i i just find it hard to believe that organizations are going to have the bandwidth to crack down on us because we're not flying with sky id or remote id and then jam up this justice system

[00:06:09] At that yeah because i'm taking that to court yeah so here's my take on it and by the way i did look it up it's called drone scanner is the app that i use all right that's one of a few you can use to see what is flying around you okay that will not tell me what's flying two miles away that will tell me what i can see is flying basically line of sight so i still contend that we were unfortunately lumped in with another part of the hobby drones that i'll say it i mean that fly out of line of sight where yes

[00:06:49] You can get into more trouble than us out in the country or the flying site or the church where they have permission yeah doing what we do which is just flying i mean there's an obvious you can see

[00:07:02] Yeah there's an obvious difference between a model airplane and a drone with a camera on it i mean a drone can hover and peek in somebody's window or whatever it calls all kinds of trouble or whatever but airplanes don't operate that way and i feel like if as long as you're not doing something really really really really dumb with your airplane i i find it hard to believe that anybody's going to complain number one i mean i'm sure there's some out there that will complain there's always somebody right but number two i just don't i just can't see how public law enforcement or private even for

[00:07:45] That matter security firms or whatever how they're going to have the bandwidth to deal with this and if

[00:07:50] You're nice they're just going to ask you to leave yeah probably if you're nice there's always one

[00:07:56] Right well sometimes don't get in their face goes a long way yeah oh exactly i mean anyway yeah be

[00:08:05] Respectful be a good steward of the hobby we'll see yeah we'll see how this how this sort of plays out

[00:08:11] Over the next couple years yeah right i mean i think so i mean this is different than what was originally proposed there is no flight logging right which might come later who knows there is no requirement to have a cell connection that automatically updates your flights in real time to see who's flying where and what it's watered down quite a bit from what we were scared of yes when it was first proposed true end of the hobby no no i mean it's not nearly that big of a deal

[00:08:44] It is to those that would be affected by it as in the ones that should be affected by it drones those that fly over people those that fly in areas they're not supposed to those that are nosy and want to go see what's happening a block away because they heard sirens that's the kind of stuff yes this is going to be there to stop or that it probably won't want to get a really cool picture of this

[00:09:14] Airplane that's taken off and yeah flies over airport property and yeah i mean the list goes on

[00:09:19] And on the things that we don't do with model airplanes exactly anyway but anyway so your experience with the sky id is meh it's yeah i mean it does what it legally has to do and i have not experimented with anything beyond that yet do i plan on it sure you should but is it going to be something i do soon is it a priority probably not yeah i did see that there is an update for dx and ix series

[00:09:50] Radios through horizon or through spectrum i guess technically i have not done that yet on mine so i don't know what all extra goodies they give us that opens up in the telemetry section for it to talk to this module when it's plugged into the serial port yeah because it has to be plugged into the serial port in order to go both ways

[00:10:12] Gosh in order to transfer data in a two-way lane of traffic thank you get it back to it's still funny where we can see it on our radio all of a sudden this is a lawyer speak over here yeah hey speaking of

[00:10:28] Seeing are you done with the wrong idea i'm sorry i am finished with talking about speaking of seeing things on your transmitter the other night i took a quick video of the beast i think it was for trevor to show him like the servos or whatever oh yeah two while it was sitting on the floor two holds

[00:10:48] So i'm concerned and it was not power related it was not power related because i was watching the voltage on the transmitter while i was doing the whatever i was doing for the video and i noticed that i i could see it like i i saw something weird happen like everything stopped like for a microsecond and then started moving again and it did it when i was flipping between high and low rates while i was moving surfaces so really yeah so i'm i'm i don't it used receiver right so it could be the receiver

[00:11:26] Receiver so i think what i'm going to do is i'm going to take the power safe receiver out of the s box the 50 cc s box that i have put it in there experiment with that and see if i can if i can get it but before i do that i'm gonna see if i can if i can duplicate it so were you able to replicate it i i shut everything off and like when i saw that on the transmitter i was like oh dear and then i had to go do something else i didn't have time to replicate it but i'm going to try to replicate it but i i think i'm probably in the interim until i can figure out why i did that

[00:11:58] I'm going to put that power safe receiver in it and okay so i know that'll make you feel better

[00:12:03] Two things first off if you don't want to tear that one out of there just to test that i have an extra one sitting right here that i have no use for yet copy because i'm not finished with the glider you will be soon though i will not be soon define soon i mean like this year oh maybe in time for your light toe i'm hoping so but secondly did you happen to turn the airplane off and back on at any time because i've done that before to where i have gotten i don't want to say scared but

[00:12:34] Concerned about a hold and then i realized oh i turned the airplane off did a couple things turned it back on and i just left the transmitter on so there's your hold i may have once but not twice

[00:12:47] There were two holds do you you're not running switches on there right yeah no switches so it's

[00:12:53] Possible that when you were plugging one in you plugged it in oh maybe unplugged it again

[00:12:59] Maybe but i like i said i did see something weird while everything was on while everything was on and running when i was switching between high and low rates while i was moving the surfaces i did see it

[00:13:11] Pause like for a microsecond and then take off again so i i need to pay closer attention fire everything back up and and watch but yeah until i until i'm comfortable with why that happened i'm reluctant to well and fly it in its current state funny thing too you never took the i know and i i thought i had it sitting out here the load meter the watt meter or the amp meter or whatever that is

[00:13:42] Okay so it's saying over there i got it out and then give it to you so anyway yeah you were talking

[00:13:47] About seeing things on the transmitter and one nice thing about the telemetry receivers is you can

[00:13:52] See that sort of information as well so yeah so i'm glad i saw that i would not yet be concerned until you figure out if you possibly turned it off well i i may have like i said once i may have

[00:14:05] Unplugged it once and plugged it back in but i'm pretty sure i did not how many frame losses and

[00:14:13] Stuff did you have none zero so that tells me it's probably more power related because usually you'll see frame losses you'll see dropped packets okay before you get holds when that was something else

[00:14:25] I thought was weird because it was zero frame losses and two old those those were the only numbers

[00:14:30] Zero power issue yep that's when you unplugged it i'm okay 90 sure of that okay because a hold is nothing but i think 45 consecutive frame losses losses okay well i'll try to replicate it okay so anyway first thing is unplug unplug it back and see if you get an extra one i will and going be like i don't know i'd have to see what you're talking about when you're switching between your rates

[00:14:56] It shouldn't do that but no i agree it will depending on what you're doing it's going to be

[00:15:04] Jumpy well this wasn't jumpy everything stopped did it center or stay where no they stayed where they were and then they picked up again i mean like like just a like i said a millisecond is that a fail safe receiver i'm sure it probably has fail safe and i've not programmed fail safe except for wherever everything was that when i when i found you got it what i mean yeah i mean it with everything centered it should that should be the fail safe center yes that's the default yeah like

[00:15:35] When you bind it and then there's a seems like some of the like they're different ways but you can program the fail safe where you want them to be right during on some of them you can get into forward

[00:15:45] Programming and doing it that way i think i don't think this receiver is new enough for that okay i don't know i mean i don't remember which one you said it was at any rate i'll try to replicate it before i fly it better to do it before than during yeah right but yeah like i said i bet your holds were

[00:16:04] Okay power related if you did but anyway did you watch the video i did aren't those things awesome

[00:16:09] They're what things the servos the servos are quick yeah they're awesome except for that savix i know

[00:16:17] That's the only noisy that's pretty noisy i should have just went ahead and bit the bullet and spent another 90 bucks and bought another not too late no it's not saying because well and i have one on the i have one on the shelf i should just swap it but it's the sad box it's supposed to be good servos

[00:16:33] Right i mean it's a good servo it's just it's just annoying and very annoying but when it's running you're not going to hear it that's true when it's in the air 100 feet away you're not going to hear it that's true so does it matter probably not no save yourself 90 bucks see what we did there thanks that was easy it's no i mean like it'll be good to see that one fly i don't think it's

[00:16:55] Going to be until yeah well i leave next week yeah you're going to be gone for like another month yeah so this is a school i'm going to be down in florida so hopefully poor thing yeah i know spring break down in the anywhere near pensacola for no fort walton beach area which is actually not real far from pensacola so yes i'll be in the pensacola area i saw the blue angels had posted

[00:17:20] Their training sessions and my sister and her husband are going down they're taking the rv down to florida for a few days and they will be there yeah during that time so they'll be able to go

[00:17:30] I guess admission is free to the museum the naval museum is free it is on the base so you gotta follow their rules to get on but that's not a big deal so speaking of the base at not tyndall the

[00:17:43] Other one not herbie the other one scott there's about 20 different ones yeah there's a bunch of them at any rate rhymes with eglan so eglan so at eglan no not eglan eggland eglan eglan airbase air force base e-g-l-i-n oh glen not e-g-g-l-a-n-d no there's a model club that the air force lets them use an old abandoned runway really huh so i've already

[00:18:17] Reached out to the club and i may go visit maybe try to take a small airplane with me on the on the airplane ride down there like maybe a umx conchendo maybe from my transmitter and some batteries nice so i might try to do some flying while i'm down there so if any of our listeners are from that area please reach out to me via our various ways to get a hold of us and i'd love to yeah however i'd love to meet up with anybody that's down there that'd be cool yeah interesting yeah and fun

[00:18:50] Fact you're familiar with the jimmy do little raids right i know davis but for those that aren't let's let's so jimmy do little and a squadron of b-25s took off of an aircraft carrier uss hornet yep and bombed mainland japan it was really more of a no real damage right it was really more of a a do little intellectual type win but anyway the took a lot of training for these guys to be able to take off an aircraft carrier with these bombers right and they did all of that training

[00:19:26] At the runway that this club uses at eglin so that's cool yes so it's really short it's what's actually a really long runway if you look at it on google maps i think it's probably it's probably over 4 000 feet so but the actual runway that the club uses is improved and it's several hundred feet so very neat yeah yeah so i'm kind of excited about that that'll be neat but yeah i leave next week so if any of our listeners are down that way and want to meet up for lunch or something that'd be

[00:19:58] Awesome so you mentioned a airplane that you want to take with you yeah that you didn't have last time

[00:20:05] We spoke oh yeah i've got a new airplane dave really yeah i bet it's cassindo it is so

[00:20:14] Let's see what's the airplane we were at it's a very good airplane it's it's got a taste for blood well mine does well yours does what was i oh laura and i were in st louis for a yellow ribbon event if you're not familiar yellow ribbon is for like military members that have deployed and then come back home it's a reintegration thing that's mandatory fun for all military members that have deployed right so laura and i laura and i were down there a couple weekends ago and went by one of my favorite hobby shops down there schaefer's in st louis and yeah they had two of these things

[00:20:50] On the shelf and and you only bought one and i only bought one because i only need one to to inflict carnage hopefully so is that your reason for buying it yes absolutely 100 percent so joe and all joe and all that is going to be my demolition derby plane man i wonder maybe i need

[00:21:09] To find a different one now why i'm gonna paint mine are you really oh good i'm not gonna put some

[00:21:15] Sort of an offsetting color on it yeah something bright bright orange or green or something because

[00:21:21] It's already got green on it so you don't want just like a plain gray with sky blue and some

[00:21:25] White maybe some maybe i'll paint it silver i'll get with that but anyway that russian pale blue

[00:21:34] Is oh it's the hardest thing for me to see nope nope i'm just gonna put some fluorescent on it somewhere

[00:21:40] And yeah anyway yeah a new airplane to the hangar good for you so you are plus this year no you're not

[00:21:47] You've gotten rid of some already haven't you i don't even remember yeah i did back in january i took some up to brian's i think and unloaded that's right so yeah i think i'm i think i'm still negative but that really wasn't my focus for this year because i know at the end of this year i'm going to be negative for sure because i have things i want to buy that are yeah gonna require

[00:22:14] That's my thought too but things happen and i end up always getting more anyway well no that'll be good it'll you'll be missed again but that's okay you'll be back for dayton and more important you guys will do fine without me oh i know we will you did last year yeah i mean it's not the same

[00:22:31] Yeah true but anyway and i'll miss you guys too some some hopefully i'll get to some of us hopefully

[00:22:39] I'll get to fly more than you guys do while i'm gone i think that will be a low bar unfortunately you

[00:22:46] Have a lot of projects and the weather here has been it's the weather it's been a freaking hurricane like for the last month we complain about it every year about this same time but it's always feels like it goes on and on forever yeah doesn't it i mean like no i agree it's ridiculous i agree

[00:23:03] I did however get to fly you did two nights did you log it i did and i'm still way behind way behind but anyway i'm like half of where i should be but i blame the wind i really do but anyway so i ended up flying the first night i got five flights in on this little ultra stick nice thing about having the batteries that charge really fast is you can do that yeah because i only have four batteries but anyway so i had six chart well four charged two and then went back out to fly the two

[00:23:40] That i had charged got one pack in was towards the end of the well actually it was the end of the pack because it was when i was coming in to land for the last time i was doing touch and goes like i love doing touch and go it's good practice it is sometimes it's nice just to burn like a battery of nothing but take off land take off land so anyway battery was dying as i was coming in to land the last time i mean like i swear i wish i had it on video and i even checked my cameras to see if i had like

[00:24:10] The pointing the right way to where we could see it couldn't i greased it i mean like it was it was a nice landing and it touched down rolled out for probably 10 feet then all of a sudden just went block or plopped down on one side it's like what that's weird so i walked out to it it was 20 feet away from me and one of the landing gear just broke carbon fiber broke right now they're notorious for that i don't understand it like i could understand if i hit it hard i could understand if i did something

[00:24:45] That made me think oh i gotta check on that the only thing i can figure that is the one that ended up in a tree and fell out remember when i yes broke it several months ago whatever it was i don't know if maybe i cracked it then but there is no reason that it broke on that landing on that landing but luckily horizon had it in stock so i went in that night ordered it the next night it was

[00:25:14] Delivered it was very fast wow for a change yeah i know right even though it only has to travel what

[00:25:20] 60 miles whatever it is yeah yeah so i got it the next day came home from work i mean literally it was a minute to change it out because when you get the new gear the wheels are already installed on everything oh really it just you pop the old one out which was two inches long as opposed to 10 inches or whatever it's supposed to be pulled that one out put the new one in went outside and flew it again got four more flights in on it and it broke again no but i do have a spare just in case there you go yep because it comes with two that can go on both sides or either side i should say

[00:25:53] Yes it goes both ways it does go both ways gosh i can't help it it's too easy i know

[00:26:04] So i got a question as far as counting flights i tried to fly about a month ago with my umx timber excuse me we ended up having a bad battery and i did not make a full flight with it or a full loop around the field with it it got launched it made a left turn and then it landed on its own because the battery was gone is that a flight i would not count that it's

[00:26:31] No repairs see i but i did not hold on hold on you started with what you thought was a freshly charged battery he flew it until the battery was dead until it was depleted and landed that's a flight yeah but that was 18 seconds full battery to dead battery that's it went from here to there

[00:26:52] I mean personally i would not make a big you i reason i count i want to count it is that was my one and only flight in february okay i guess for that then yeah you did fly i mean i would count it

[00:27:06] Regardless really yeah you flew you started with a fully charged battery and you landed with a dead

[00:27:13] Battery it doesn't matter how long it took so to each their own yeah i mean like i go by the general rule that if it's not an edf a flight has to be at least five minutes to count for me oh then my count

[00:27:28] My flight must be zero because i'd never fly five minutes really yeah that that e-flight viper that i

[00:27:36] You gave to dave that dave gave me what did i just say if it's not an edf oh yeah eds i understand there are two three minutes is what you can get on a battery patch pushing it i understand so that's different like completely i'm talking non-edf like okay so ultra stick that kind of stuff a battery might let depending on how i fly seven or eight minutes could be 10 or 11 if i'm just putting around

[00:27:58] Maybe it can be or one or the other what do you mean maybe it could be okay maybe it could be like

[00:28:09] Okay a from a fully charged battery to a dead battery or a flight of more than five more than three or five minutes because well yeah let's say we get really good with gliders and we're really good at finding thermals and we take off with a fully charged battery and we hit all the thermals and we get bored of flying an hour and a half later and we land and there's still 80 of the battery left you see where i'm going with that that's at least five minutes right exactly so it could be like you'd still kind of landing with a full battery so oh you can't count that

[00:28:41] Because the battery well it was over well yeah i mean like what i'm saying and it's just

[00:28:46] Gonna have to be what you decide to count because it's not yeah and i am not going to unless it's you

[00:28:52] I am not going to make fun of anyone for flights that they count or don't count because it's me unless

[00:29:00] It's you yeah i'll always make fun of you i don't know how to take that so yay or nay on that one if you want to yeah i say yay yeah because that's my only february flight i think normally i would not

[00:29:09] Even bother with it but being the only february flight normally that only fly to february or not you count it i think but that's just me i attempted and that's what i would do like if it was to deviate

[00:29:21] You did and what what if you crashed instead of having a dead battery well that's counted as a half

[00:29:27] Flight that's a half flight we already talked about that did we yeah crashes are half flights

[00:29:31] Because you're a takeoff no landing no landing see i would count as a full flight if you're over five

[00:29:37] Minutes though well yeah if you're if you're over the threshold five minutes or i still count

[00:29:45] It as a half fully just yeah that's just me i don't know i think it's a judgment thing yeah it's and

[00:29:50] It's and it's your spreadsheet it's you do you boo and yeah who are we to tell you what is and is not a flight but exactly in my book regardless of how many you've had for february that's like you count

[00:30:02] It i think so and that's the thing too like it's it's this is for me to know how i'm flying it's not for me to say i flew more than you or i flew less than you right unless it's reggie i'm going to stay ahead of him only because he's trying to catch up to me which actually he might be he might he's i think he probably is but other than that yeah it doesn't matter if you get one or a hundred flights

[00:30:23] Yep you're doing good how about a compromise and call it three quarters of a flight i'm not getting

[00:30:28] The fraction well you could just call it a flight and then with an asterisk it was a

[00:30:32] Whatever yeah there you go what i'm saying i do but yes i will have to say with no power that thing with the floats on it does not glide very well oh yeah and what was it it's the umx timber oh and for life i can't remember which one i've got because there's like 20 of them i know there's

[00:30:53] 85 different timbers out there but yeah with the float with floats on it with no power yeah the

[00:30:59] Sync rate is incredible yeah what are you laughing at just funny video i watched on youtube about

[00:31:07] Timbers all the timbers so if you have floats on you taking it to joan all yeah that was all better yeah ah i just want to say joan all again sorry i still want to figure out how to put floats on

[00:31:20] The beast you're not going to have time that would be awesome no time you're right yeah we're going to

[00:31:29] Have like when we get back almost no time one weekend i think when we get back from dayton aren't we before we leave yeah oh it's so awesome did we mention joan all's coming okay i'm not doing that again so here we go did you see hanger nine's new covering iron i did i mean well i did because

[00:31:48] You posted it on our page and i saw it that way i did i had no idea it was coming though i didn't

[00:31:53] Either but i was very happy to see it i just saw they had posted that on their social media on

[00:31:58] Facebook i like it it's got to be a good sign right i would hope so i would think that they're

[00:32:05] Only one producing a hobby iron at this point even okay so even if it is a rebadged yeah it's a rebrand

[00:32:13] It is a covering iron with a hobby brand on it sold and supported yeah exactly by an actual hobby company i i gotta believe that that's a good sign and it even comes with one sock hey right up my alley

[00:32:36] Because dave has one leg you get it ron oh so that only means he has one foot huh and one sock yeah well i i'm really happy i'm i was happy to see that they did that yeah

[00:32:48] Yeah it's about the same price as the old cover it iron i was gonna say i think that's exactly what

[00:32:53] I paid for the old cover right iron yep which by the way the cover right iron always came with a

[00:32:57] Sock also then at least mine did i'll have to look mine's got a price tag on it still oh mine does too

[00:33:03] I think because i have a price tag but that doesn't mean that's what i paid for it oh well that's true if it came from brian yeah because i mean it wasn't yeah it wasn't new or no it was new wasn't it yeah mine's brand new in the box yeah so was mine yeah but i took it out oh i have mine's you still have a spare yeah see i don't have a spare anymore which makes me yeah you should probably get one yeah so the only thing i was reading through here the only thing i i don't like which i guess it's really not that big of a deal but it has a automatic shutoff safety feature

[00:33:39] After three hours oh geez three hours i'm usually bored with covering by then

[00:33:45] On time or is that not moving time i'm sure that's just on time because it doesn't have a

[00:33:51] Doesn't have a jiggly in it i wouldn't think so i mean i could be completely wrong but i wouldn't

[00:33:56] Think so because i know my son will turn off yeah but it's got a jiggly built into it so it if it

[00:34:04] Senses movement if the jiggly jiggles and then it knows not to shut off right huh what if what if

[00:34:11] It's not a jiggly and it's something to do with the the temperature knob yeah so if you adjust digital so it's you push button oh so you don't push a button it probably resets i would think so yeah i'm that that doesn't the auto shut off doesn't bother i guess that's true if it resets because

[00:34:29] You do change the temperature based on i do yeah quite a bit whether or not you're

[00:34:32] Always setting it whether i'm tacking or shrinking or stretching down up and down exactly what dave said

[00:34:42] But yeah so i was glad to see that come out hopefully that's something they will have in stock for a long time and hopefully that means we will be seeing more of the sws series of e-flight

[00:34:55] Airplanes that's what i'm like when i saw the iron when when you put that on our on the rc plane lab page page group whatever it is facebook page that was like one of the first thoughts i had was

[00:35:10] Like oh they're investing in a covering oh that means more wood airplanes which everything hangar

[00:35:15] Nine is wood yeah so i'm really hopeful that that means more cool yeah wooden electric because

[00:35:24] Also flies better and it's just cooler ah so anyway that's that i thought that was kind of neat very exciting we'll see how it goes what else is new you had a couple airplanes you want to talk about

[00:35:37] Yeah so announced this week old school model works they are producing a new kit called the polaris which if anybody out there that's been in the hobby for more than 20 years or so it was probably well it's a design that'll look familiar scimitar and it's old school yeah it's old school right so cool looking airplane kind of a jet looking wing flying wing flying wing with a fuselage

[00:36:05] Yeah i think i've seen them called javelins before and yeah what'd you call it the other

[00:36:12] You asked me to remember sorry 20 minutes ago but anyway scimitar yeah so yeah i'm kind of excited about that the kit's about i think 199 i think which is not bad for an all balsa kit with all the hardware is it 40 size i didn't look it's a 40 size but they say on the website that they would not be afraid to put a 61 a piped 61 i'm gonna say it could probably handle that with no problem so that would be very fast what's it called it's called the polaris p-o-l-a-r-i-s which is going to be confusing

[00:36:45] With the float plane polaris but yeah that's what i thought of at first yeah but no it's a cool airplane i might i'm not committing but i might actually order one of these things very interesting that's different yeah yeah i see it yeah it looks kind of like a jet it's got the roundish tail cone thing that you could probably look great and gray and silver oh god

[00:37:11] I don't know it doesn't do much for me but that's kind of neat yeah it's different i like it because

[00:37:16] It it'll go both ways electric and nitro it's gonna be one of those episodes guys why and of course if i buy one it'll be nitro and probably maybe a good home for my clarence lee 61. the one that

[00:37:31] You're not going to ever fly well it'd be a shame not to because they run so good yeah that'd be a

[00:37:38] Nice one for a high revving two stroke mm-hmm like a clarence lee 61. oh you should use that clarence lee

[00:37:44] 61. hey what would be a great idea if i use that clarence lee 61. you just took it too far i did i i mean that was sorry what do you got over there you've got something new in your hands

[00:37:56] Oh not in my hands there was a couple of my saw motion rc had there was one oh i'm trying to put this in your hand no you can talk about that one i don't want to talk about these these things are ugly it's well we can talk about that one first we agree yeah i kinda like i can i wouldn't all right

[00:38:14] So what we're talking about is this new this new jet from fms relatively new the integral or integral i'm not sure which it is to be honest i always assumed it was integral because that's how it's spelled right but i've always like at the joe and all when i saw these that i heard them call them integral anyway yeah ugly because these things so like i think comp arf does one of these or maybe it's elite aerosports there's a company out there that makes

[00:38:49] A turbine a big version of this and in their ads they had like a it's a big bulbous looks cartoonish and they did they had like eyes on it and from that point on anytime i saw one that's what i saw this big ugly cartoon and but to be honest they to be fair to be fair they do fly really really

[00:39:11] Nice they are they're kind of cool like i mean it's different they're different and i like different and i definitely like i mean it looks like a shark i was just gonna say that oh sorry

[00:39:24] Say it no it looks like a shark oh it does it almost to me it looks like a 1950s sci-fi

[00:39:29] Spaceship i could see that see i wasn't around in the 50s for that so you guys will have to fill me

[00:39:35] On what you thought about it almost looks like yeah it's anyway you should almost be able to see the wires holding it up yeah exactly and it makes a jetson's noise yeah yeah but they do fly nice and this thing i'm trying to look for the price i can't find it ron you printed out like all of the

[00:39:59] Oh they did a terrible job single printing page out well yeah you just hit control but wasn't it like

[00:40:05] Three something it was the price is it awful there 3.99 maybe 80 millimeter yeah i'm trying sorry talk amongst yourselves so it's free apparently they they didn't put a price on it

[00:40:24] But at any rate looks like it comes in two colors thank you looks like it comes in two colors

[00:40:30] Like a red and a green looks like yeah i don't think you got the price on this we are so prepared show prep i tell you yeah at any rate it's fms and i think you can get them on what can you get them from motion rc probably probably fms is pretty commonly available yeah

[00:40:53] Ms stuff seems to be pretty decent 3.99.99 3.99 okay it reminds me of a plane from disney planes

[00:41:03] Yeah and like like when i saw the one that had the eyes kind of like kind of like what you did for the teleaster but more goofy goofier goofier yeah that's all i see when i look at them but they do fly nice so if that's your thing brand new from fms retracts the whole deal for 400

[00:41:29] Simoleons simoleons simoleons is that a 6s 5000 probably i would imagine i don't know i'd assume so yeah it's that seems to be the standard seems to yeah that's 80 millimeters so yeah yep there it is

[00:41:41] Right i just saw it oh there's the price 399.99 oh yeah see oh it's not on here my gosh i thought i saw

[00:41:51] It but i yeah 6s 5000 so yeah if you've already got papers on the floor here if you've already got a couple of those batteries that jet might be worth a look and like dave said fms they do

[00:42:02] Pretty decent job i think yeah you want to get made fun of for what it looks like then have at it i promise i won't say anything if you buy one run i don't think i'll buy one okay good 400 bucks is a lot of money for that indeed to me it is it's a good looking airplane for funsies it certainly is

[00:42:17] Different like so if you're looking for something to kind of be different be different you're into sport jets and want to knock so you're yeah around it's nice yeah yep what is happening my voice i don't know i bet it doesn't fly as good as that e-flight 70 millimeter viper that you guys gave me that thing flies awesome let's say stop i don't want to know that it really does oh yeah i know it

[00:42:38] Flies great i'm gonna regret passing it along well you're gonna fly it eventually maybe we're if we've

[00:42:44] All owned it yeah you all should fly it at least once it does fly good though anyway well once again room

[00:42:51] That's why i get it it had to leave so i'm glad it made it somebody that actually flew it i got it they fixed it tommy flew it that worked out perfect but anyway yeah i've noticed on

[00:43:05] On facebook folks are starting to get their rjg decathlons or rgj rgj yeah were you making fun of

[00:43:13] Me no oh no i had to write rjg it's right here rjg wait wait yeah what'd you say rjg is what i said

[00:43:21] You said rgj rgj that sounds stupid why would i say rjg but anyway i the more i see it the more and the more i see people like handling it and stuff it's it's a good size but the silver windows

[00:43:35] Still bother me well you can fix that yeah you can order it no good no i mean good because

[00:43:40] No i'm saving goals i mean i did buy the conchendo but i kind of needed a needed air quotes he needed a missile i needed a missile yeah he did something good call missile for a specific reason joe knoll but i'm not buying between now and then and until unless i

[00:44:01] Make what i need to make at dayton buy my stuff by the way do you have a specific number in mind

[00:44:07] That you need to have okay i do okay yep i know about what it's going to take to build what i

[00:44:15] Want to buy next and what do you want to buy now have you settled yet because i know you i know you

[00:44:22] Waffle i do waffle you we've talked about that and i'm not the only one no i get it that was slightly i mean that was not it was more than slightly it was very comforting to know that i'm not the only one out there that just wants everything we all have the attention span with toddler yeah true that's true so true and the mental capacity feels like it a lot but yes i've i've decided that i'm probably regret it but i'm gonna hold off on on the bronco because i know boobin

[00:44:59] Because the way if if i get a bronco i want to go electric with that just because it's so pricey exactly i get it and for what i would spend on a bronco i could conceivably put a sport jet

[00:45:14] Together and that's oh and that's what i'm going to do turbine yes so you guys are going to force me

[00:45:21] To do a jet aren't you yes okay i fully support you so extreme flight they are going they're working on a jet right now it's there it'll be their first entry into the jet market and it'll be a sport jet it won't be like a scale jet it'll probably look something like a viper

[00:45:40] They're okay at least from the pictures the some of the preliminary pictures i've seen but i'm anxiously awaiting more details on that but i think hopefully they'll have more details of joe knoll yeah that's kind of what i'm hoping to talk to those guys there when we get there

[00:45:58] At joe knoll i'm gonna start keeping a tally how many times you guys saying joe knoll

[00:46:04] It's a drinking game and we say you drink a pepsi but the going the kind of the going rate like so

[00:46:12] I've done quite a bit of interest internet like research looking thing yeah you could probably put a a sport type jet in the about the 85 ish range 86 now from king tech for about five grand maybe a little bit more maybe a little bit less and i would have considerably more than that in a bronco to do it the way i would want to do it considerably more yeah with the batteries the motors the avian

[00:46:42] Speed control you're right all the smart stuff okay plus the lights i would have to have the lights what i mean so for me and i think i would i think a jet would probably challenge me as as a pilot more than the bronco so i i think that's a great idea so that's that's my goal and i've kind of been solid on that for several weeks now i've i've been really jazzed about it and haven't

[00:47:16] Really thought about anything else so i feel like that's probably probably the route you should go really what i want until next week he's got a point i know i mean i know i and i don't i'm not going to argue because you're absolutely right it could change next week but but like i said for the past few weeks that is really and what did it for me was working with yours really yeah tinkering when we're out there trying to like that was like that's what did that turned me off on mine so much i'm gonna be honest it it was yeah it was something new and different and

[00:47:53] Sometimes i was trying to that's what makes me tick because we've talked about it before i i think i get more out of the tinkering and building than i do at the actual flying yeah and that part of it just like that was like okay this is this is cool i like this i'm i'm glad to hear that but like i said for

[00:48:12] Me the issues that they're just such a negative feeling for me on it like i'm expecting it start expecting it to work have a problem with clunk oh okay so what's this we got to figure i don't enjoy that like i want it to work i get it i want it to work how it's supposed to work

[00:48:32] And it will like i know like you'll then we work through those issues and then for me kind of the reward at the end is this cool awesome running jet yeah the problem solving is the deal yeah i think that's what sort of makes makes it that much more enjoyable for me is the it's like you said screwdriver in the hole yeah the problem solving

[00:48:57] You started you got wrong with that one that just caught me off guard no i think i think the problem like what what got me so off on that is the smell of the diesel like that just gets into you and like it takes so long to get it off your hands no matter how much you wash your hands it's no worse than gasoline though i don't like that either that's why i think i'm such an electric guy because there is no

[00:49:25] Odor yes they burn it well like a burn there's nothing worse than a burnt speed controller

[00:49:33] Yeah those magic electrical genies yeah yeah those things smoke forever

[00:49:39] So i've got a story i wasn't like i haven't told you guys this yet oh this will be good

[00:49:48] No it's not all that bad so i was working on the jet like my plan honestly was to have it finished to where tonight before we did this we could run it up and and actually start it and all that kind of stuff so i i went through because you made fun of me so much for the wiring job that i had i made one comment over and over it was one time multiple times a lot you're just too sensitive belittling me for hours upon hours texting me and everything it was just hey your wiring looks like

[00:50:19] Crap i mean it was it gave me anxiety hopefully everybody knows you're full of it i think anybody that knows me would know that no but seriously so i didn't like how it was like i i had always planned on cleaning it up i just wanted to get stuff done to make it work at first so when it was time to put the new receiver in with as6000 with all that stuff i decided now's the time to pretty up the insides and and take care of it so i i bought whatever you call that stuff the the mesh mesh

[00:50:51] Sleeve yeah yeah to run all your wires through which looks nice really thank you i think it's

[00:50:57] Turning out good oh i'm not gonna say turned out i'm not finished yet way better than it did anyway so i did that and then i also bought from cheek or chief aircraft the the four port quick connects where you can do four servos leads into it and stuff and so that was enough for aileron

[00:51:20] Mine went blank aileron flaps flaps thank you that's what this is is flaps aileron flaps gear gear up and down and break break so i gotta cough lights are you gonna put lights in it i forget i don't know okay anyway like not right away eventually i would like to but that's more pricey than i want to

[00:51:41] Spend i just want to fly it and see how it goes gotcha so you got the the four the four lead one that's it's like a flat pin connector and does it all at once anybody that's worked on computers or

[00:51:52] Anything like that knows that's got the actual connector that goes in then it's locking you have to press a little detent thing to get it out so anyway got all that done and hooked up and

[00:52:06] Went to like i so my first time i figured i i didn't mark which one was gear and which one was break no big deal you just plug it in really quick see if the gear goes up that's the gear so i did that plugged it in nothing happened plugged it into the other one just testing to see which one it was into the extension and the gear went fully up or sorry down i guess because i was working out upside down upside down so anyway the gear came out and it was in the

[00:52:37] Landing position and i was like perfect that's great so then i hooked everything else up and i'm sitting there fiddling with some stuff and i hear like the gear is is jerky just a little bit and i didn't quite figure out what it was at first i just every now and then we hear like a little click like a little tick and so thought nothing of it i thought maybe it's the because as i'm i'm working you're moving around a little bit so i figured maybe it's the as3x gains working and fixing it or they're doing whatever then all of a sudden on the gear well i couldn't

[00:53:12] Tell where the sound was coming oh i'm sorry i guess i i just heard the airplane making a noise okay okay gotcha which i didn't think anything of it then all of a sudden just puffs and billowing of smoke coming out i'm like holy yes word inserted here what's going on so i quickly unplugged it and i i took the wing completely off and i ran out into the garage just because i wasn't sure if it was going to catch on fire which it did not catch on fire i lucked out however i did burn up completely

[00:53:45] One retract oh no so apparently it was plugged into the brake port oh which i did not realize as it went up because it was being told to go up because the brakes were engaged yeah not

[00:54:00] Knowing that was a thing rookie mistake so there's not there's not a clutch or something like that to shut the motor off when it reaches it's like an end point all my stuff uses a like a micro switch or an amp draw switch yeah and it just pulls too many amps and that's what shuts it off

[00:54:20] Yes but not on the motor so it's built into the brake or not break the the gear controller the retract controller like when the retract goes up that it shows you a light or shuts it off it shows you a light that's going on when it gets to the end then that light goes off or it changes

[00:54:36] Color i don't remember which to let that yeah so he was bypassing the controller because

[00:54:40] He bypassed the controller all right that makes sense because it thought it was the brake so i had the the gear motor plugged into the brake port how much was that

[00:54:50] Well we don't so it well okay okay i'll let you tell the story no you can't buy just one oh no so the full retract set all three you have to buy all three is three hundred dollars oh jeez we just got plenty spare parts now still so anyway i'm sorry that learned that the hard way yeah i'm sorry that's that's terrible it's i learned i know it's an expensive expensive lesson but why don't they

[00:55:23] Sell them piecemeal mains and a nose gear and they might later but right now the only way i could find it is a three-pack anyway doesn't matter hold on though wait did you check it like did you try to

[00:55:34] Operate it after that and it didn't oh no didn't move at all i'm sorry that's okay that's awful i'm sorry

[00:55:39] It like i said i feel like i feel bad because well don't it's okay like it will get fixed i know i don't worry about it but i did learn so when i did the other ones did the other wing that i marked religiously marked each one so i had it all together so i knew what i was plugging in and then i made myself a map on a piece of paper with the detent tab up yeah this first port is this

[00:56:09] Second port third port fourth port and then on the actual plugs because when you're running them through that wire loom you can't see which one is which right so i put black with permanent marker on the one that's the break oh and then i actually got actually got paint out green painted green for gear on the ones that were the gear so that one went perfectly what'd you use for aileron and flap so for aileron apple no for aileron i i use green because i had that out already

[00:56:46] And then god i should i don't want it but anyway so i still got those backwards

[00:56:56] So plug green into red and red no no no no no it's whatever port it's on because you have when you're setting up your radio you can look on your controller on your transmitter and it will say like left aileron right aileron right flap or rf it tells you what one you're doing plus when you're moving them you can see the the values change in there and so where i made a mistake and i knew i wasn't as worried about this because i knew as soon as you flip it you're going to see what it is and you can't go like if it's plugged in backwards when

[00:57:28] You plug in your your flaps or your aileron it's just going to move them to different positions it's not going to over stress it and break anything right so i wasn't as concerned about that but i forgot like i just went on length of the wires coming out and i was i thought the longer wire coming out was the flap because it's it's closer closer but i forgot you have because i'm a dummy there's an extension on the aileron which actually makes that one longer yeah than the flap so yeah so no

[00:58:03] Damage done with that one no not on that one at all but the one that was very important i did spend too much time getting the paint out waiting for it to dry making sure it was all set up right and then yeah and then the worst of it like well i shouldn't say the worst of it that was that was just earlier this week i ended up taking a half day on monday so i could get some stuff done around the house crystal was off earlier than she was supposed to be on monday and so she came down with me and started working on her airplane it's not going to be done by april 1st and

[00:58:36] Let's just say i was a little distracted by that too sure because i'm i'm trying to figure this out working on a very expensive jet that i don't want to mess up yep and then she's over there working on her 30 little balsa airplane god love her so we're sitting there and all of a sudden i just hear hold on this what is it oh damn it i did this wrong i was like what what are you talking

[00:59:06] About so she shows me the part i think it's the bottom that's supposed to be solid solid yeah i think the bottom supposed to be solidly covered on that and she covered the top where it's supposed to be a hatch was completely glued on so i went and got her a a knife and told her how to cut it off and fix it which no big deal yeah that's modeling but distraction yes so yep it was fun well i'm

[00:59:31] Sorry that that happened that's that's crappy once again thank goodness they do they have them in stock

[00:59:38] Or do you have to wait no they had them in stock oh did they good yeah we're good at least there's a plus there yeah but that's my story that i wasn't sure no i i well i planned on telling you i mean

[00:59:50] I'm not gonna well the funny part is that you you messed it up a second time but i know didn't burn anything up i know but yeah not being so careful not funny that you burned up a retract and then you had to buy a complete set that blows my mind but i guess it is what it is it happens yeah so

[01:00:08] You said you got plenty of spare parts getting getting closer yeah to being completed yep got

[01:00:13] The tank back together tonight right before we started i don't know what i was doing wrong on that

[01:00:17] I it just weren't seating it it just yeah that stop okay so start from scratch then okay this is so i put the new clunk in it and my plan yesterday was to get it like i said completely buttoned up so that maybe we could run it tonight if we had time so i went out there

[01:00:36] I took it out to the garage because it's diesel and i don't want that in the house on my carpet anyway so every time i would put that the stopper back in i would tighten it up tighten it up tighten up and it would just push out just squeeze itself out yeah so there was no way i could get it to set just yep so what did you have to do in order to keep it in well i did the exact same thing you

[01:00:59] Did first right apparently no no i no i did this exact same thing you were doing and it did the same thing that it was doing it started creeping out and i tightened up the screw and i could pull the thing the rest of the way out so what i did was i took this back the screw all the way out so that it was not screwed into the back plate and then i separated the three components right the back plate the stopper and the cap okay so i could see the stopper from one end all the way to the other it was like exposed and then i just simply took that and shoved that into the hole of the tank such that

[01:01:35] The flange of the stopper made a nice seat up against the plastic of the tank the throat of the tank and then i moved the cap over the top of it and screwed it all together i think what was happening is i we just weren't getting the stopper all the way in because we couldn't see the end of the stopper okay i think the stopper was probably not going all the way into the till it seats so it wasn't going in far enough to hold exactly it was yeah because because they depend so they depend on when you when you screw the the center screw together and it pulls that back plate up against the stopper

[01:02:09] It's supposed to mushroom the back of the stopper on the back side of the hole and that's what sort of keeps it in the tank i just don't think we had the stopper a lot like a popper of it exactly okay yeah so okay it's in now though so now we can or you can i will button it back up and we can

[01:02:27] Run it next time you have time sometime okay well i mean that that makes me feel better because honestly hooking it back up and putting it in is 20 minutes maybe worth of work it's well it'd be even

[01:02:41] Easier now because you got the wiring all nice and tied it up and it won't be in the way yeah it does

[01:02:46] Look really nice by the way thank you yeah i really really like i'm not worried about anything getting ate yeah i am not burnt i'm i'm less embarrassed by that so yeah we're good yeah no

[01:02:57] I love that stuff it it looks really really nice in there yeah so cool good job thanks thanks very much oh did you wait i'm sorry did you want to talk about this one bring it up oh yeah so new for me flight normally we don't talk about helicopters on the show but this one's kind of cool it's a new blade eclipse 360 unusual in the fact that the fuselage is foam yeah but it has metal running

[01:03:27] Gear has a fully collective head and and that sort of stuff so it's a pretty neat little helicopter the tail rotor is driven directly by a brushless motor instead of being either a belt drive or if you remember the blade or shaft drive yeah so i mean i'm not a helicopter guy at all

[01:03:44] But that it's different right let's say that would have been one that might have gotten me if it

[01:03:52] Wasn't the price it is yeah 450 for a smaller machine it's well it's not i mean it's not really small i mean it's a 360 so what the blade 300s were they were up around that price too and i think

[01:04:09] This is probably similar size right i got a cross look between airwolf and yeah it's your

[01:04:16] Favorite color though yeah it's gray same color as my truck i think it might be a lot well it might

[01:04:23] Be about the same color but it hovers so you don't have to worry about flying away from you and trying

[01:04:27] To tell what it is but and it has a black canopy it does have a black they did went right on the

[01:04:33] On the on the canopy color thank goodness and it had like it has safe built in it has it does all the smart stuff for a new pilot yeah in the realm of helicopters yeah i thought that was

[01:04:44] Kind of neat so something so an interchangeable landing gear something new and different yeah removable yeah you can land it with the skids or the wheels that they can pop off and yeah

[01:04:56] So yeah the only experience i was gonna say the only experience i have with helicopters was way way way back when i think it was a blade cx2 they had the counter rotating and then still had the fly bar on top yeah i that wasn't that didn't work too well i flew one of those in the

[01:05:14] Desert yeah yeah a lot of time on that one yeah that was before you were in the hobby way back when yeah well i yeah dave sent me to the desert with his cx2 and was it a cx2 or was it a cx2 okay and i flew the flew the bejesus out of that thing blue canopy yellow well his was well painted

[01:05:34] Though it was gray are you colorblind like have we just hit on something do what colors are

[01:05:44] He knows i've been total laboratory retrievers come in multiple colors too i know yeah he's consistent i

[01:05:51] Mean that's that's one good likes what he likes he does yeah so it's black dogs and gray airplanes silver

[01:06:02] So we've got a couple more new airplanes yeah lots of new stuff this week yeah or this last two weeks i should say since the last time we recorded well actually yeah and this the next one isn't new i just found it no this one's no no the other one we'll save that one we'll save that one until last so dave talk about it what's the is this one you're talking about yeah did you want to talk about that one i don't want to talk about that i don't want to talk about it either but look neat dave you want to talk about it i don't know much about a 64 millimeter free wing f9f panther panther korean ward

[01:06:35] Navy fighter new as of november yeah new in november okay i just saw it on face like i don't know why just saw it on facebook and i thought it said new and i was like oh this is cool so i started looking into it and stuff and then you guys asked well when did they come out because i didn't see it and so i looked it up and sure enough it was november of last year this one did get past me yeah dave was not aware and i didn't know either new to dave means it's new to anybody so there you go

[01:07:05] 64 millimeter looks like it's hand launch it's a nice size yeah 64 millimeters not too small but it's small enough that you can't hand launch it so our grass field that's just too rough on most stuff this works really really nice and of course 64 millimeter keeps the price down yeah yeah that was much more easy to transport a couple hundred bucks a good size and and they normally fly pretty well so yep so there you go and that's all i got to say about that how much are

[01:07:37] Good talk 199 199 not bad so free wing stuff always flies good i've had i've owned three of them i've flown a bunch more than that and always nice flyers cool so yeah this one's in the dark

[01:07:52] Blue which would have to get painted to gray no actually it's that's the correct color

[01:07:59] There's a lot of neat korean war schemes for those a lot of striping and red and stuff you can play around this is in yellow so that's going to help he's such a historian with that kind of like

[01:08:09] I couldn't tell you when a plane was from what arrow what i can get close normally but yeah yeah you got schooled earlier because you said it wrong i mean he yelled at you i think he slapped you too like i i thought i heard that when i turned around you might be i see you might be right so okay well that's enough on that one then whatever that's old news what's the other one dave we both printed i printed the wrong one so i'm glad you brought one out this one seems to excite you a little bit yeah

[01:08:38] It's a little on the pricey side but you get a lot for your money on this one you're selling airplanes so maybe it's another one that comes in that's right so this is the twin 64 millimeter f-14 tomcat from free wing you get a lot of airplane for 500 like why is that so you get not only a full full up package with i think it's nine servos quite a few servos in it it's on

[01:09:08] Here somewhere an ordinance package reversing speed control gyro oh swing wings really yeah gyro yeah gyro that's i'm hungry i'm gonna have dinner sorry i wonder if it has a gyro because it

[01:09:24] Needs it or just because it's cool to have that i couldn't tell you i've seen the videos of flying

[01:09:29] And it's rock solid interesting has stabilators and flaps and ailerons what's a stabilator oh full flying stabs full flying stats so they can actually work as ailerons as well as elevators yeah so the horizontal stabilizers are yeah they're full flying yeah nice yeah the whole thing moves yeah and

[01:09:51] There's programming in it for the full size yeah it's really cool to see them yeah yeah i like the sound effect when you heard that because nobody can see your hands but everybody heard this heard a pop

[01:10:05] Yeah just watch top gun you can see him turn actually the newest version with the f-18s you can really see the stabilators move on that one ron hates that movie i know he does don't like either

[01:10:16] Of them because i don't like the new f-18s i only like the old ones well i mean you're not wrong the

[01:10:23] New ones look like poop poop i mean just saying they took the coolest parts and took them off so they

[01:10:28] Just made it ugly well so according to i know somebody that flies them the new ones and he loves them well i don't care he's flown both well i don't fly them and i look at them he says the new ones are like

[01:10:41] Caddy's cadillacs well it doesn't mean you have to like the looks of them like i could really like how a car rides but i could absolutely be embarrassed to be seen in it like a tesla

[01:10:53] That hurts he beat me too that hurts i mean i was gonna say it too that you guys suck

[01:10:59] We're done perfect mission accomplished

[01:11:04] Anyway they've got it set up so that the flaps do not deploy when the wings are swept that's always handy nice little safety feature and it's got the jolly rogers paint scheme which is very cool it's very popular it's gray sorry but it's great for you black tails and the skull and crossbones on the tails yeah they're pretty much all the 14s were so if i remember at

[01:11:28] This vf-84 if i remember correctly let me ask a question that i don't know the answer to so it's an actual question not just a rhetorical one the jolly rogers scheme on multiple airplanes then right so they've had multiple aircraft over the years so is this a group i mean is this like a

[01:11:46] It's like a squadron it's a squadron yeah okay and they've been assigned different yeah they've been assigned different airplanes over the years f-4s f-14 do they have an f-18 i believe jolly rogers i don't know if they may i'm not really what's the one what's the f-18 i have the e-flight yours is the that's a marine corps scheme never mind with the red with the bait with all red tails maces or

[01:12:12] Something i can't remember which one that one was i can't remember but it's a i'm pretty sure yours is

[01:12:17] A marine corps now that you say that that sounds right but yeah it's got coordinates lights too

[01:12:24] Right lights i think it's got yeah so that's it is like the full package and grassfield capable really what's what's the wingspan it depends on whether they're swept or not give me two numbers well you asked well i figured that i oh you're right wingspan let's see here extended is what they're giving us here it's 49.2 inches or 1250 millimeters for trevor who cares about millimeters metric system

[01:12:59] It doesn't make a lot more so 49 40 almost 50 inches that's pretty good size it's it's sizable

[01:13:05] For 64 millimeters still but then when they sweep it it's going to be half that five hundred dollars

[01:13:11] Five hundos 260 amp speed controls that are reversing see that's the problem you're doubling

[01:13:17] All of that same with the bronco you don't have to buy one motor i know controller so you have to buy two i mean to yell but i know you're just a little poed you're not getting no i'm not like i'm

[01:13:29] Not upset about it i just well i am i have to prioritize you don't get one then that raises you higher on my

[01:13:35] List of getting one and i don't want to i don't want to i do want to but i don't want to if you don't

[01:13:40] Need to i what do we need anything though this drama like this the neat little plug-in just use your words dave the neat little multi-port plug-in so you don't have don't be a dave so you don't need your retracts backwards

[01:13:55] Or plug in your retracts to the brake and burn them up oh so we're making fun of me too soon i'm

[01:14:01] See i don't have my glasses on so i can't see anything he's trying to show me he's talking about

[01:14:05] The the plugs that will only go one way that you can't mess up i don't see that on here

[01:14:12] Where do you see that on the bottom where all the wires are those are all singles see those are all singles what's your point dave he's right dave those are all that's not a multi-port no get your glasses because seven of them plug into the same whatever but they're they're they're plugged into their module okay oh all right so enough of that

[01:14:39] Oh by the way did you notice on this that every single page has the price

[01:14:44] Those are the ones dave printed

[01:14:47] Yeah because i forgot the wrong one i saw at 14 i was like oh here you go dave's like you did print out the one for the older one the 80 millimeter twin 80s yeah and dave's like this has been out for

[01:14:55] Years i'm like oh shucks i'm an idiot whatever no no no no i am it's okay oh i think that's it for the new stuff it was a big big couple weeks there's a lot of a lot of stuff that came out even back in

[01:15:10] November i think that got past me i i may i may make a play for one of those old school model works polaris i think that's a cool you have a jet to buy tommy so you can just stop right now that's true well and i have the if i want to have the need for speed i've got the shrike right it's ready to go by the way oh mine's going away is that one of them okay i think i have settled on do you want me to loosen up the engine before you do that or are you just going to take it as if you want to have

[01:15:44] At her i mean it's up to you there you go do it if you want it so how would you go about loosening

[01:15:52] Up an engine a big hammer so normally good good question so for context we'll frame the conversation ron and i picked up a bunch of airplanes from dumpster a while back two two well it was two no that was two well but then i got that little helicopter thing that came out of the dumpster which is not an airplane it's a bunch of airplanes three's a bunch three is not a bunch and it's two anyway okay anyway so they were shrikes a big one on a little one ron

[01:16:28] I gave ron the little one and i took the big one and on the little one that ron took i believe it has a weber 32 i think nitro engine that's seized up so how would i go about loosening that up

[01:16:41] Basically i would hold on can i take a guess sure so not a nitro guy or take out the the the oh my glow plug thank you i kept wanting to say spark plug and i knew that wasn't right take out the glow plug yes put some oil down in there and then also in the throat of the carburetor yes and then let that sit for years i will so yeah i'll do that first put

[01:17:10] That in there and then try to kind of rock the prop back and forth to see if it'll if it'll come loose and if that doesn't if it doesn't break loose then i'll break out the handy dandy heat gun and get her nice and warm and that will usually be enough to sort of loosen up the varnish the gumminess that's inside and then yeah from there you can gradually loosen it up with oil and then when when you get that kind of nice and free you can move on to putting fuel in it because fuel has alcohol in it and it gets into tighter spots than oil can and then that will

[01:17:47] Usually be enough to to break it loose and put a fresh plug in it and blow through the carb grader make sure that the fuel passages get the boogers out of the carb jet aren't clogged up and if it passes fuel yeah hook up some fuel and put a fresh plug in it and off you go okay pretty easy yeah as long as as long as the bearings are good and all that sort of stuff now obviously if you free it up and it feels crunchy probably probably not good experience the inside of your engine yeah that's

[01:18:17] When you probably ought to dig a little deeper but and sometimes that crunchiness will spin off too the first time you fire it up yeah if i can get a little bit of rust on the bearings if i can get it free enough to where it'll it'll pop what i'm saying like it has enough compression where you pull it through with your hand you can feel it got a lot of resistance i'll go ahead and try to run it and then i'll listen to the bearings after a few minutes of running and normally yeah if it's just crud and not rust the crunchiness and the noise will go away pretty quick yeah if it doesn't

[01:18:46] Go away in the first tank it's not going to go away yeah so then you're looking at bearings but

[01:18:50] Even then it's not not too big a deal you can get a pair of bokeh bearings depending on the engine for probably 25 bucks so there you go i can do that for yours if you want if you feel like going through that just to sell it then that's fine with me what's your airplane so you tell me what

[01:19:09] You want you'll get a lot more out of it as the engine spins a whole five bucks more

[01:19:14] A little more if it's a webra you'll get well i mean i don't even you're taking it to a swap meet so

[01:19:18] I don't even know you're not going to put on it price wise on it so we'll have to figure stuff like

[01:19:22] That out does the airframe need repaired i forget yeah what's wrong with the airframe only thing

[01:19:27] That's wrong with it is that tail looks like it got knocked and one of the tails needs glued black or glued back together okay just let me take it home and take care with it okay okay cool then we will do that what else oh i bought batteries for my jet yes you did you guys should be proud of me

[01:19:50] You stuck with the recommended size yeah even though i'm gonna be honest so these are

[01:19:56] Three no there's three batteries they're actually receiver packs so they're made for receivers spectrum smart gen one i don't like the fact that they don't have any gen two batteries because there's two plugs you can make fun of me as much as you want but that is absolutely correct

[01:20:18] Plugging in that second plug is such a pain it just takes all the enjoyment out of the hobby man

[01:20:24] How did i get by before you're not incorrect you are absolutely not incorrect like seriously that single plug once you use it you don't want to go back which reminds me by the way i've decided one of the things i'm taking two of the things i'm taking to toledo or dayton my four port chargers i've had them for well one had for years and years and years and it's done me well still works great

[01:20:54] But i don't need it anymore not with your new truck the end of an era yeah i'm still using those types of chargers so depending on the price actually i don't need one either i don't fly enough to electric

[01:21:10] To warrant buying another charger to you have a four port though don't you two and that's enough yeah i have three single ports oh my god how do you survive a caveman you have to plug in so many

[01:21:26] Plugs dave how do you do it and then you forget what you have like you have to change everything you have to change the charge rate the cell count oh it's such a pain honestly it really is they do

[01:21:38] Actually have a memory in them but i never use it because it's just way easier to push the button three times yeah it's just way easier to just plug it in and walk away not too far though because it's a lipo so i'm just saying walk away taking all my enjoyment out of the hobby i like pushing

[01:21:56] Buttons see once again i don't like tinkering too much with that kind of stuff the ease just makes it handy so yes i now have to plug two wires in i will survive but not be too thrilled about it

[01:22:08] But i got those are they are they life or what are they lipos lipos okay yeah i like lipos i know

[01:22:15] Lipos i think that's the the biggest thing i had to get a life battery for the the turbine so have you thought about batteries and receivers and all that for your future jet i mean yeah that

[01:22:28] Was factored into the rough figure that i had in my head yeah and so what what oh i'm absolutely going to go with the same receiver you got okay yeah i mean for a jet to me i don't want to risk anything and plus having the gyro built in it's a no-brainer i agree so then you're going smart batteries and all that too well i mean i'm probably going to have to right because look at

[01:22:53] You go you don't have to by or by the way you can absolutely use whatever battery you want on there and just put a different end either on that receiver i guess i could yeah well the receivers it's built

[01:23:03] In right you'd have to build a jumper wouldn't you no the receiver it comes off those two leads yeah oh okay perfect because some of them they're plugged in the older ones yeah receiver okay yeah

[01:23:13] So i like the ones that have the pigtails that come off it's just easier maybe i like when it comes

[01:23:17] To the batteries i probably will go with the spectrum batteries but who knows well you should in the grand scheme of things saving fifty dollars on batteries is it really worth the potential incompatibility with the plugs well is it worth the pain of changing the plugs on one what i'm saying so here's the nice thing when you're spending that kind of money i agree what is go with the best go with the simplest right you can yeah anyway maybe by then i'll have

[01:23:49] A spectrum charger too who knows we'll see and if not that's a good reason to buy one right i'm seriously reggie bought his second one i'm thinking about buying a second one yeah it's yeah it's

[01:24:02] Pricey but i still think it's worth it once again for the quick the way last year at the place we we won't mention which place the place we're not going to mention rhymes with home all oh wait shouldn't when i saw yours in action and how quickly you were able to charge the batteries on the what was that the tell me ah right or not it but yeah that like the quickness with which you were flying

[01:24:30] Again that was impressive so and i had to plug one lead in right so dummy and you walked away in a

[01:24:39] Caveman five feet that's why it's so much faster yeah because you only have to plug in one lead and

[01:24:44] They charge at 5c so literally they charge fast it charges in the amount of time that you fly basically pretty much i mean four batteries was too much yes i had too many batteries so we'll see but anyway

[01:24:58] Yeah the the receiver is definitely i mean if they're available then which they should be i was gonna say they're available now aren't they well i don't know are they sold out oh i don't

[01:25:10] Know oh i got mine so i haven't looked i don't like the rest of you guys i got mine i don't like seeing the price on that kind of makes me cringe still and they are pricey but it's hopefully worth it what else oh the other thing i got my sewing machine oh that's right funny story i actually got two sewing machines on the same day oh geez they found the other one huh well apparently because it delivered the same time that i got the correct one so long story short i emailed the person that i bought it in quotes air quotes off of from walmart because it wasn't actually through walmart i didn't

[01:25:46] Realize that it was a third-party shop and yeah so that's taken care of it's on its way back and what else i got stuff for making wing materials yeah but that's where i have stopped well you've got

[01:25:59] A lot going on the bathroom projects plural oh yeah okay anyway we're getting there we're slowly getting still moving mom out here we're getting there yes slowly getting i mean there's a lot going on so you haven't had a lot of time to tinker exactly but we'll get but you will and i'm excited because

[01:26:18] I need wing bags yeah but you mean you i'm i'm looking at you yeah no yeah it's your song we have

[01:26:26] To learn together how to no that's your deal i'll pay you to make them paid for it i want somebody to

[01:26:34] Hold my hand it's not that hard guys i do it all the time oh there you go i have to sew my pants up

[01:26:40] Oh that's right he does because he's only got one leg i don't know if you knew that or not

[01:26:44] One leg one sock one shoe exactly one leg pant leg yeah and you don't want me having an open leg

[01:26:52] Situation going so yeah yeah but that's just one line across like we're talking about a little bit more

[01:26:58] In depth i mean it's the same process the same process i mean it's not that big a deal i've i've even made you guys you remember the old mga pilots back in the day oh yeah yeah you got a set of hands instead of feet ahead and then patterns you have to make your own dolled clothes so i sewed

[01:27:16] All those i wonder if that's what that thing is up on that schweitzer glider it's not i don't think

[01:27:20] So okay then never mind i i don't know what that one is it's nice yeah it's hideous it's scary it is scary with the beard the van dyke beard is kind of it's a little creepy a little creepy but no i don't think that's one of those mg associates pilots speaking of nice that pilot reggie got for his p51 is

[01:27:38] Nice yeah oh is it yeah you saw the you didn't see the picture he put he put a picture i don't i

[01:27:43] Don't honestly stay he saw it he responded i did yeah oh my god are you serious i think did i say something i think you said awesome i'm guessing or hilarious it is a good looking that's a good

[01:27:58] Looking cockpit too by the way yeah it's turning out nice it is a tremendous amount of work how's the how's the coffin coming along talk to reggie about that one well if he's ron hall at 401 pm nice with

[01:28:14] An explanation point oh that was a text so that wasn't discord no that was text okay i've been

[01:28:21] Leaving this to reggie to post and he's not posted anything okay i remember that he doesn't post something soon i'll have to do something but yeah so is it close is it it's close the the gun site and the canopy and i think we're we're good sweet then dave can work on his own stuff i don't know what

[01:28:39] To do with myself or my stuff who knows no but i said if reggie has that airplane with the little pilot in there he needs to have a coffin ready for when he crashes oh yeah i get it now it was a relatively expensive pilot too well so it needs a nice coffin nice coffin yeah crumb plated

[01:29:02] Now this airplane is going to live forever okay i hope so was this as much work as you put into it yeah you found out that you put fair amount of work into it as well well not near as much as you did

[01:29:12] I think definitely more than i have like i think i it was just a repair to the top of the nose is all

[01:29:17] Yeah you had to straighten it apparently there's a huge gap between the spinner and the cowl at one point yeah and then i found out that it hasn't flown yet thanks at all never ever i should never ask these questions that i don't want answers to that is true yeah i would have really preferred this thing had flown before i put all this work into it yeah well it's gonna have

[01:29:41] At least one well i mean or nothing against reggie half flight okay but i'm gonna say something against reggie no no but maybe he'll maybe he'll have you do the maiden maybe i don't want to you don't want to tommy what are you up to -no say nope i'll do it what

[01:30:02] The heck i would i would feel terrible actually the last time i flew a large-scale p51 i had an accident with it so i i feel a little jinxed at this point sure and i get that i can't say that i was gonna

[01:30:17] Say would you believe i've never owned a peep but i have i had the i was gonna say yes you have because i bought it off of you and then i got rid of it myself yeah without flying it true

[01:30:28] It happens a lot unfortunately speaking of flying how do you land do you prefer a three-point

[01:30:35] Or a wheel landing a lot of times it depends on the airplane and the and the gear configuration but more often than not like on a tail dragger i prefer a three-pointer you like three-pointer

[01:30:48] Mm-hmm that's what i prefer i tend to prefer a wheel landing okay what's the difference really so for those aren't familiar and this also applies to track gear plane as well but not to the same extent a wheel landing you land on the mains first and do a rollout and eventually the tail drop and then you're back in your three-point position a three-point landing tail and mains try to hit about the same time so their plane usually lands as a nose up attitude which is usually slower

[01:31:20] Not necessarily slower but what it does give you in a crosswind situation it gives you more tail authority your tail wheel especially the tail wheel is down first and gives you more traction to help steer the aircraft to keep it from ground looping in a crosswind also helps with prop clearance

[01:31:35] Yeah which may be an issue with the beast it's going to be a huge issue what do you have an inch

[01:31:40] It's not much not much so yeah you're going to like that three-pointer yep the plus side with a

[01:31:48] Wheel landing though is your wing is at a much lower angle of attack therefore it's less prone to bounce into the air in a sudden gust but that's only if you're flying directly into the wind or close to it mm-hmm so it varies depending on the situation as to what you really want to do yep and certain airplanes like three points better than others some airplanes you have to practically stall them to

[01:32:13] Get them to land yeah yes like a cub well or yeah exactly or to more specifically and p51s are notorious for this bouncing so you pretty much have to have that thing stalled otherwise it's just going to bounce and try to keep flying yeah yeah now a tricycle gear i actually kind of like to do wheel landings with those because i just think it looks cool to ride with the nose high my cessna 150 comes in so nice

[01:32:37] On the mains just drag that nose wheel up as far as you can so like i said i for me it depends on

[01:32:42] Depends on the airplane and and the gear configuration but for tail draggers i like the three pointers and for tricycle gear i like to land on the mains do that aerodynamic braking mm-hmm yes

[01:32:54] Which is the same configuration that you like to come in on then yes yeah higher angle of attack yep

[01:33:03] Yeah i agree that's kind of how i am too cool cool cool nice so cool cool cool anything else new was that it i think we covered it all i think that's all and joe knoll's coming up god i gotta drink again

[01:33:21] It's what is it water i don't know it's clear

[01:33:25] Oh goodness all right no i yeah i wish i had more to to talk about but i mean other than working

[01:33:31] On the the nose oh yeah i wanted to bring that up oh so bring that up you've been working on the nose

[01:33:37] Of my glider yeah and i'm at work stoppage because you decided what what nothing you decided go on that you that you wanted a quick release propeller assembly can i call it that yeah yeah you wanted a quick release propeller assembly so i'm at a work stoppage i wanted like so the nose of this gliders was his looks like it had been run into something because the nose

[01:34:10] Was smashed and and all that sort of it looks more to me like somebody had a motor mounted in it and then when they wanted to get rid of the airplane they thought oh how do i get this motor out oh i'm just gonna rip it off yeah i mean that's kind of what it looks like it's rough so yeah i took the nose

[01:34:27] Off to the first good former and i'll have to rebuild that all back up and then also mount an electric motor and prop hub assembly and that's where you and i sort of differ in the aesthetics of the airplane i would prefer to put a more permanent solution if you will with the motor the prop adapter and a spinner to to sort of round off the nose and make it aerodynamic or whatever

[01:34:58] You prefer to keep it more scale like i can say that and so that is a rounded off nose like like it has no motor but then we're going to drill a hole through the nose and stick the motor shaft out and there's the prop hub assembly just sort of hanging out in the breeze yes which leads us to why one reason why you wanted the quick release so you could pull it off and it would sort of minimize

[01:35:24] The ugliness whenever the product looks like a beanie i mean maybe so there's a guy at the field that has a glider and has this nice little quick release thing to just you push a button you pull the propeller off i like it i think it's cool it makes the plane look better when it's just sitting there without this ugly propeller just hanging out the front that's not supposed to be there on the scale model i mean like this is not a powered glider gotcha from i mean it's it's a model of a

[01:35:57] Real glider and those are not powered those are toe gliders so when it's just sitting there you're just going to see a hole in the front which looks fine to me to me it just looks like that's where the toe rope goes quick connect glider quick connect propeller like i said push button take it off in my now this is where i i was leaning towards doing this it it operates i'm sorry it operates

[01:36:20] Sort of like a quick release safety pin yeah you grab yeah exactly in case anyone was who's listening still is not not tracking what because i didn't know what it was like i even when i was kind of looking at the at the link you sent me i'm like what i don't and then so i finally i had to look at the exploded view i'm like oh okay it's like a it's like what i would call a a quick release safety pin so you push the the button in on the end it releases a ball bearing and then that allows you

[01:36:48] To slide it off the shaft like if remember when people used to carry keys and you had two sets yes of keys that little thing yeah where you would push the button then you could separate your two key halves have one same idea ring with keys on one side one on the other works a lot like that however so i texted him asking him what it was he told me and i thought cool i'm going to order one because this is when we're having the discussion and then i really wasn't sure what i wanted to do when i saw the price yeah they're not cheap they are like i was expecting honestly i had in my mind

[01:37:25] For the the spinner not spinner but the little h the yolk yeah and the blades and the quick connect i thought 75 bucks and i was comfortable with that i was like that's cool it's worth it that's about

[01:37:45] What i paid for the combo on my vamana is it really yeah see i guess i don't know with the spinner the blades the yolk and the the collet adapter all of that was about 75 bucks and that is a very small

[01:37:57] That is oh that's it's small ish and it's not even quick release so these are after well free shipping so luckily there you go i'll have it tomorrow but it was 263 dollars and some odd cents my good for i mean like yeah but it should work out good it should be cool it should be what makes me happy and honestly once it gets here it gets put on by you and is ready to be flown in

[01:38:30] Three or four years i'm not even going to remember how much i spent on i'm just gonna be happy money's already spent that it's done and gone yeah and i will say well no i won't say so yeah it will be good hopefully you love flying this thing i'm really thinking i will but i've let myself down before so i don't know we'll see it should be fun random thought i just had in my head what

[01:38:56] About 3d printing a nose no it's gonna be harder okay i think just if we can i'll build it by we

[01:39:05] By you and just do the balls to sand it down make it look right and then cover it up because you're that's the other thing like with what comes this is by the way this is a torqueman t-o-r-c-m-a-n quick connect which once you figure out what it's called then you can actually google and and find it because just looking up like quick connect glider and all that stuff will get you nowhere if you don't know exactly what you're looking for which i tried that for quite a while anyway torqueman i ended up buying mine through hacker motors and also bought i think what is it

[01:39:43] I don't remember what propellers i ended up getting because there were maybe falcon there was only one in the size i needed which is 20 by 14 i think it could be completely wrong 20 inch but i remember what the pitch is they were the only one or they were the only ones that came in white oh and i thought white will match better the airplane than having two big honking black propellers sitting outside yay yay yay yay so i agree torqueman t-o-r-c-m-a-n torqueman

[01:40:21] Torqueman torqueman torquman 200 oh don't worry about the price we don't that's gone now so we're we're happy with the excitement of getting it so now that i oh once i go ahead i'm sorry i didn't mean to cut the point i was trying to make five minutes ago was that it looks like that has a bearing that is going to have to be mounted in the nose yeah to support the shaft so yeah we'll see how that goes so we'll have to have all of that before you can build up the nose to see correct depth and

[01:40:53] Mounting and correct accessibility stuff yeah but as long as i can get to the very front to push on that and pull the propeller off i'll feel cool playing with the big kids you should not say it that way because the the pin is on the end oh no i mean yeah i know i can as long as i can get just a i mean finger behind it enough to should be pull it off yep it'll be good we'll be able to figure out what were you going to say though i'm sorry i cut you off i don't remember oh gosh man sorry it wasn't that big a deal i don't think oh one one thing i just thought of that's what you

[01:41:27] Said and then that's what are we yeah okay okay anything i really don't you really don't remember

[01:41:36] What i was gonna say you can text me tonight at midnight when it hits you

[01:41:42] No i we yeah we need to get that project going because it needs to be flown i need to look at dates

[01:41:48] Honestly because that that will probably have to wait until after joe no yeah well when does the glider tow that's why i said i have to look at dates june i think right i think it's mid to late june

[01:42:01] Faster than you expect yeah that's gonna get here before but you need to get covering i know i need

[01:42:08] To get repairing and covering we should have a covering party one weekend out here well let me get the nose

[01:42:12] Fixed yeah get back from my school yeah and then go back from dayton yeah well and then get back from joan all yeah and then we'll do that oh god i don't know how i'm going to survive all you can

[01:42:26] Work on it well i'm not here i would love to i would absolutely love to but i yeah other projects have to come first and then i will i get it anything else gentlemen we good i've got one thing to add one thing i like that dave's not just like i'm done he's like yeah i got what's your one

[01:42:44] Thing my one thing we're coming up to toledo real soon right yes so all of our listeners i know a few of them are going to be making their way up there i would like to maybe have you hit us up we i'd like to maybe get us together and do a well we can do that too field re field reporter

[01:43:03] I see what he's playing but nobody else knows oh yeah we can do that too what that means

[01:43:09] Because now i've lost my train of thought dang i'm sorry people going to toledo so we're going to lead together i would like to do a get together and maybe do a dinner and go to the spaghetti warehouse everybody together so maybe kind of hit us up either on the internet or when you get there

[01:43:24] First of all i kind of like know who's going to be there yeah and and that place is capable of

[01:43:28] Doing big parties yeah they can do that yeah well that's awesome dave said he's treating that's not what i heard but i'm sorry i'm joking no that'll be good so if you want to meet us and

[01:43:39] Not tommy yeah feel free to if you want to meet me you come to date just yeah hit us up on

[01:43:46] The website or the discord or in person at toledo let us know mm-hmm yeah that'd be fun i'm up for it me wow me next year so i have you're not gonna get a 13 layer lasagna nope not this year i think

[01:44:03] I have figured possibly 21 airplanes to get rid of to take to either toledo or dayton 21 a lot of them are umx and small stuff so it's not like huge airplanes but well i hope you do well in toledo so

[01:44:22] That i don't have anything so that you don't have anything to take to dayton because i'm taking lots

[01:44:26] And they're not small airplanes yeah so and you you need to sell blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

[01:44:32] I know it's not that i need to i just i really should well you want the money so you can buy your jet well yeah but i mean from a from a space standpoint i should sell things that i'm not flying

[01:44:43] Is it is it weird that i'm like excited for you to have a jet now and that makes me kind of want to finish mine even more well good i'm glad which mine won't be done soon no i know i just right now couldn't put all three gear up it just looks silly it's got fixed gear on a jet only one it's okay it's gonna look lock-sided look like dave gear leg hanging down

[01:45:12] Oh yeah you should probably end on that note speaking of that my carbon z t28 drives me nuts with that hanging gear oh it never one that doesn't it never completely retracts the left

[01:45:24] Main gear oh that's when you repainted yeah ray right no it's camo oh it's camo that's right it is that's right it's a vietnam camo yeah yeah oh look at you showing off oh vietnam southeast asia from that era because that's the correct paint scheme there was four of these made at least it's not gray or silver so there's that there's that there's one floppy door that just doesn't work

[01:45:51] Right yeah it drives me nuts i've got to the point where i take off roll it inverted and retract all the way up now on the ground that thing goes up and down every single time it never fails holding it on the ground as soon as it's airborne that left one will not go up unless i'm inverted i've changed the controllers i've changed retracts i've changed everything

[01:46:14] Drives me nuts to the point where i don't enjoy flying the airplane because i don't like to watch it i wonder if the mount needs shimmed i that was my first thought yeah i've taken it apart such a dork the activating jack screw it doesn't i mean it runs as smooth as can be

[01:46:34] Jack screw i knew that was gonna be a problem yeah the jack screw needs shimmed have you shimmed your jack screw lately no i have not all right clean it up we're out of here ron you're such a child i'm sorry it's late i have i'm tired and yeah i've behaved tonight there's a lot of stuff i haven't said that i've thought of you should be proud of me he's taking a beat in the night that was perfect look

[01:47:10] He's turning red oh it's a red i've never seen before okay i'm about to pass out lightheaded
