  1. IMHO, big, bigger, biggest, refers to the square footage of the footprint of the plane, a direct comparison of size. Weight, compares heavier or lighter. So, I would consider a 60 size trainer to be bigger than a composite glider, even though glider would have a considerably larger wing span. Wingspan is its own category.
