Ep 117: Bjorn Baal from RMJ Machine Worx

Bjorn Baal spent many months studying under the tutelage of Frank Bowman, learning the intricate ins and outs of making piston rings. It’s only fitting the second iteration of Bowman Rings be called RMJ, short for Ring Master Junior.

RMJ Machine Worx has been manufacturing Bowman rings since 2017.

Tune in to hear Bjorn talk about the ring business and what he likes to fly in his free time.

Ep 116: Terry Dunn

Tune in as the RC Plane Lab guys talk with Terry Dunn. Terry is one of the hosts of the RC Roundtable Podcast, and the electrics columnist for Model Aviation, a monthly publication of the Academy of Model Aeronautics.

Ep 110: What a week it’s been

It’s been a while since the guys sat down to record a show. Tune in to see what’s been going on.

Jeff Arsenault, our guest from episode 99, sent us a note with a photo we wouldn’t believe without seeing! Jeff said:

Hi Guys,
I thought I’d share something you haven’t seen before.

If I live to be a 100 I won’t see anything crazier than this. The Rhode Island Aeromodelers had a 2-day fun fly/camp out last weekend in celebration of National Model Aviation Day A bunch of us camped out at the field and had a steak fry that evening. This was followed with a pancake breakfast the following morning. After breakfast one of the members was cleaning up and broke down his 10′ x 10′ tent. He moved it out to the middle of our parking lot to dry out in the sun. We had a crazy burst of wind blow through the area around 10:30 on an otherwise calm morning. Airplanes were scattered everywhere. The wind somehow inflated the tent and it got caught in an updraft. It easily rose to 150′, flew over a densely wooded area and was never to be seen again. The UFO looking thing in the photo is a 10′ tent.

The guy that lost the tent fully admits it’s the best $200 story he’ll ever tell!

Hope you enjoy and are having a good summer. Glad the show is back!

Bye bye, tent!
